mikesb - I remember when I first heard Malmsteen.. ealy 80's.. I was really beginning the crack Van Halen and Randy Rhodes' styles.. I thought I was making great progress.. well pleased with myself as what I'd achieved up to that point was, I felt, pretty significant.... a buddy comes 'round to my place with Marching Out on vinyl.. I slings it on the deck... and I saw the 'finish line' [that I thought I was rapidly approach] just piss-off into the distance.... well over the horizon... and that feeling was both soul destroying and inspiring...

kinda like someone dropping a bar of gold at you feet saying "it's yours mate.. pick it up"... delighted you bend down to pick it up.. as you do.. you suddenly find a geezer built like a donkey jumps you a does you up hula... bitter-sweet... lol..

so in the face of such considerable shite.. what do you do... just give in... or do you dig in and find a way....

me?... I dig in....

for my own ability.. I have a great deal thanx to dish out to a fair few players... Malmsteen is without any question one of them... and close to the top of the list too...

I am just sooooo jealous that I didn't see that gig...
that's a definate "wish you were here" post card.. lol..
the Marquee.. I used to go there very regularly.. saw loads of bands there.. some just dissappeared... some made it big.. [such as Maiden].. played there myself a few times too... I used to love that place...

Yngwie - thanx bro... I owe you a few beers I reckon...
mick87 - yup.. been told I'm a crazy bastard many times by many different people... like just about everyone I've every met...

they are of course all wrong.. lmao..

Yoda - I got mails from Mick the bass and Alex the keys..... it's official... we have a complete line-up..... woooohoooooo
ovation - when my wife is pissed off and has the bit between her teeth she is definately a riot.. like chaos and mahem... fires.. broken glass... police choppers... water cannon and a wall of riot shields... a proper riot...
I just so bring out the best in her.. lmao..

The Raft.. I was in the lab last night messing with automation on the AW16 via cubase... I tried the version where each one of the 16 midi channels coresponds to a track on the AW.. I got it to work too... at first I was well pleased but after a while I noticed things jumping around a bit... sudden volume and panning changes that were not programmed in... I did a little more messing... I figured that somehow, my pc spits out spurious shite from time to time... way too unreliable..

there is another method where you use one midi channel but loads of controllers each doing a different thing.. it's much more unfriendly to program the changes into Cubase.. looks like lots of grief... I'll try it either tonight or tomorrow night to see if it works...

and given that it is such a pain in the rear to set up I bet it'll work a treat.. lol

michelle - haha... no backing out now....

and change the lyrics to "I'm a little shit pot".. it's more fitting in a 21st century kindy garden.. lmao..

Cletis - stop pratting about and get back in there... makes er squeal like pig ... lmao..
jelly - yeah I remember him too.... and like what's happened to him... it's like he's just vanished... mind you... in his more recent visits he does seem to have lost that 'edge' he used to have... he's just not funny any more... maybe he bored himself to death..
mr nick - I was thinking like in a few months... lol... so get your finger out and start tearing into that cutie lil' JEM of yours... lol..

GREEN PAINT!!! :-)

UF Dean - Happy birthday!
juju808 - Thanks...now the Toys R Us jingle is stuck in MY head...LOL.
ovation1 - Joe had better hurry up and tell us what his new album is going to be like, or I'll be forced to make another "Joe's recording with Avril!" April Fool's post...hehe.
DavidFallows - Cool...where'd you download it? I believe Joe's lineup for that gig was Jonathan Mover on drums and Stuart Hamm on bass.

Seems like the sound quality of the recording sounds really good for the upcoming CD. I wish I could just get a single disc with joe's stuff and the jam at the end! (PS- i am extremely poor and have not yet even been able to pick up the Electric Joe Satriani double CD. I am an unhappy superfan)

Glad to see that Satch fans are into Megadeth. Megadeth has been on of my fave bands of all time. Dave Mustaine has been trying hard to have the band reunited and record a new album. Everyone refused to be a part of it. But why is Marty Friedman on Favoured Nations and not capitol??? And why did Marty start using Ibanez from Jackson? I use Ibanez. So I am happy about that.

Edit: This is Jazz Man. Just to let you know Mr. Jimmy Kane aka. Stale French Toast GDYRH!

Cube-Naw, there are 2 knobs on the back, one for send, and one for return.Ive tried messing with them a little, but I can't get my delay to have the volume Id like.I wanna be able to use it for either slap back echo(like...I dunno, Cathedral or Big Sur Moon) and Depth for my lead tone just by adjusting the delay time and delay volume on the pedal itself.

As it is, I am pretty happy with the lead tone, but I can't get it to do slapback tricks when the distortion channel is engaged. The repeat is too quiet.Trick works fine on the clean channel, and it sounds good for leads on the distortion channel, I just hope I don't have to CONSTANTLY adjust those knobs. That would be annoying.

GDYRH: I thought the last Megadeth cd World Needs a Hero was great. Not really to sure about the real reason Megadeth broke up myself.

Hi all.
Sorry that i couldn't reply sooner to any thing and wasn't here - To tell the truth, Israel had an Earthquake today. 5 Richter scale. Man... am I scared.... Brr.... But i'm alright and no one got killed and no harm to property :)
Also - Israeli scientists and geologists say that they will be able to predict Earthquakes from now on - 30 minutes warning! It's got to do with water pressure at drilling points... I've seen on TV a few years ago the same thing @ a park @ USA where a woman had a gyser which could predict the happenings of Earthquakes at the region. It's true. And I hope our scientists can do that. However - Our build is crap!!!! If we had 7 or 6 we would surly lose 10,000 + ppl and lots of buildings will crash down :(
So I consider it LUCK! Wish me that i won't get these no more!!! Oh well, i have to live with it i guess - no point of fighting with nature I guess...
Anyway - Thx to Delfino who regged @ my board, i still welcome you all to: http://Music4You.Majiks.ca

Btw, i hope you'll be happy to hear that I now can fully return to listen to Joe - a few days ago i was sick and until yesterday i couldn't enjoy Joe or Vai or music @ all cuz it gave me an earache and a headache. Now i'm ok with music, though still got the flu, but i can again enjoy Joe's music.
Oh, and "All About Eve" by Vai - Does it stimulate any special feeling(s) in anyone? also warm regards by Vai, these got Mega soul. I can't help noticing Satch - Friends, Always With Me, Always With You & flying in a blue dream - All those are very special IMHO. Yeah, Time Machine is also :)

Cya later all!

Cheers

Would anyone here be interested in doing a Joe Satriani song tournament with other T2Jers? College basketball's March Madness is coming up, so I thought we could do our own tournament here. My school's basketball teams suck, so I need to do something else for fun this March. ;-)

I'll go through all the trouble of organizing everything, if enough people here would want to participate. I guess it would be similar to Ethn's song votes that we've had here in the past. I can throw everything up on a webpage and just have people email their choices to me. I'll keep track of the votes on my own and post the totals here.

Joe has about 120 songs, which would make about 60 pairs. I guess I'd break it up into five groups of twelve song pairs to start, with each "group" being open for about a week. After the first few groups, the number of surviving songs will be smaller and everything will be easier to deal with.

Would anyone here like to participate in this? I think it would be a lot of fun. Let me know. :-)

Hey guys, I just saw the JS 1200. The prettiest one is however the chrome colored one. Not sure what the differences are between the 1200 and 2000. I plan to buy one this year.
