Clarky, I'm not really sure what you just said, but I'm laughing my ass of anyway! LOL!

I'm watching the DVD- TOMMY. I got it for my husband for V. Day, and I've watched it 3 times already. lol! I loved this movie/album as a kid. This has to be one of the most brilliant movies ever made. Anybody else a Tommy fan? Tina Turner as the The Acid Queen, E-vil Cousin Kevin, Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie, Jack Nicholson as the doctor, Elton John as the Pinball Wizzard - friggin Brilliant!

Michelle I think we all are...

The Tao Of Homer

Feeling lost and adrift? Gain inner peace from reading Homer. No, not the Greek guy. Homer Simpson. Here are some Homeric jewels to live by:

"The answers to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle. They're on TV."

"What's the point of going out? We're just going to end up back here anyway."

"Trying is the first step toward faiure."(That's my motto!)

"You can't keep blaming yourself. Just blame yourself once and move on."

"Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?"

"The three little sentences that will get you through life: 1) Cover for me. 2)Oh, good idea, boss. 3) It was like that when I got here..."

=-) Have fun. I've got more comin'!

Hey Joe, it's me again. My name is Joe too. So when you get this message you will know who I am. I don't know if you read my other message but I'm so stoked to actually talk to you. I'm still going to go to music school when I graduate. And when I do, I want to play just like you. If you want to give me a more personal message or something my e-mail address is wilson_89_7@hotmail.com. Thanks a lot for reading this!

P.S. When is your lataest CD coming out and I was wondering if you were going to come by Colorado anytime soon. I'd love to see you in concert. Later.

I had a CRAZY dream last night. I was reliving my life from the very beginning for some reason... I was a little kid...I knew everything that was going to happen each day of my life, but I couldn't tell anyone about anything because I didn't know how to talk yet. Weird, eh?

michelle / marimariSRV - I was talking to an Aerosmith friend of mine the other day, who came across a Rolling Stones ticket stub from 1969. $6.00

Joman9 - Whose Line... rocks!
juju808 - LOL...go read the T2J messages from about this time last year (or, read Joe's post from 2/9/03). Joe took part in one of the most unorganized online chats that I've ever seen. It was INSANE.

I'd love to see before and after pictures of your Chevy, if you have a way to get them online...

You have school today? I don't. ;-)

michelle - When was Joe wearing those two shirts? Haha...I wanna see...
mischievous - The tournament can't start before I wake up! ;-) I'll post the first part of the first round after this.
Clarky - 15th-century rack...? LMAO!
Packers - Joe is releasing a G3 CD and DVD on 2/24. He's releasing a solo album sometime in April.

JS Song Tournament
Round 1, Section A

First... Joe and Jon, you're more than welcome to play. :-)

Go here for the rules.

I think it would be best to email responses directly to me (here) so we don't clutter up the board. What does everyone else think? After you make your choices, you can then talk about them here...

I'll leave this section open for about a week, I guess. It depends on how fast people vote. If anyone wants to vote on all 64 pairs at once, you can find the complete bracket at the website I mentioned earlier. Just email your choices to me...

R1SA
<empty> vs. Engines Of Creation
Midnight vs. Satch Boogie
You Saved My Life vs. Chords Of Life
The Journey vs. The Power Cosmic (original)
Tears In The Rain vs. Killer Bee Bop
Thinking Of You vs. Sittin' 'Round
Crystal Planet vs. Talk To Me
Champagne vs. House Full Of Bullets
<empty> vs. Memories
Flavor Crystal 7 vs. I Believe
Strange vs. Belly Dancer
Trundrumbalind vs. Time

Clarky, great post about your young lads and their interest in geetar!! What axes do they grind? My boy is thirteen, an accomplished pianist who became interested in guitar after SARSfest here in Toronto. I gave him an Aria classical, I whittled down the neck some and got rid of the "bone" insert in the bridge to make it a little more playable for his smaller hands. I also gave him an electric, a Lado Nighthawk PRS knockoff which is a great guitar, but the fretting is too tight for my big hands (24 frets, jumbo fretwire). He loves it!! He started out with what I consider to be the absolute best first learning album Back in Black plus some innoccuous song book tunes like Lola etc. Anyway based on several of your postings over the last say 6 to 8 weeks I thought it was time to introduce him to the "Priest". I had a great time going over some of their stuff with him the past weekend. In so doing, it occurred to me, that no one was/is more productive with a consistent high quality level of material than was Priest between say 1976 Sad Wings thru 1980 British Steel! Five fantastic studio releases ( what I call the 'er" years, Ripper, Deceiver, Sinner, Exciter, Invader,....Leather, Steeler , Grinder) plus one of the all-time classic live albums of all time as you have already mentioned!! The boys were in a groove. I have come to the conclusion that todays bands, often with members on different continents, e-mailing their music back and forth and releasing albums every 18 to 30 months just cannot compete with what was in the 70ies/80ies. I am sure that during those years Priest probably played 100 to 200 dates a year and spent most of the rest of the time together either in the studio or rehearsal hall. They played ate and slept together!!! The seeds for all those fantastic tunes were born in souncheck/rehearsal/tourbus. Do not think we will see the likes of that consistent productivity again!!!
