Joe, i read somewhere that you had a bunch of JS2000 guitars that you use for recording and all that stuff...but it sounds like you use the whang bar a whole bunch, and i thought the JS2000 had a fixed bridge? or do yours have the floating trem? plus, can i have your blue sunglasses that your wearing on the Guitar Player magazine? :)

Mystical Potato: Well, I'm too slow to really get anywhere with sweeping. It's one of 2 big things I'm working on right now. It did help me to understand how much is involved with it thought. Yeah...DOA (Dean Owners of America) meets every year in Clearwater, FL for a big weekend-long party. Friday night there's a party in a place called Kapoc Pavillion, which is a beautiful building that looks like you're inside the nice part of the Titanic. One of the guys from the factory (Pat Baker) has a band called Anita Brunette, who plays every year, then Michael Angelo got up there with the doubleneck, and then a bunch of the guys from the group got up and played. Since there's an open bar, a lot of them were not very good haha. Then Saturday we go to the Dean factory and get to ogle the guitars. It was a massive droolfest for most of us, and we also got to see some new prototypes. Of course there's a dealer on hand, so we have the option to buy the guitars before hardware's even put on...as a matter of fact 3 people picked out individual pieces of wood to have guitars made out of. Each year (starting last year), a DOA guitar is produced, 50 at a time. This year it was an ML (the one Dimebag used to play) in Tigereye quilt with gold hardware. Badass to say the least. Michael Angelo was there for a few hours on Saturday as well, and since my girlfriend and I and one of the other members were the last ones there, we got to speak privately with Dean, Elliott, and Michael. For such a freakish talent, he's one of the nicest guys I've met. All this (other than the guitars) is paid for by Elliott (owner of the company) and Dean Z. It's always a great time.
J_BOSS: oh that's a different story. Well, for under 500 bucks you can get one of their Custom 450's or the new Vendetta line which will be out in the next few months. Good luck in your search!

hey joe, first of all I am a big fan, I have been for about 3 years now, and I am truly inspired by your music and have recently become the lead guitarist for a new band that has just started in MN. we Plan on having a CD out within the next few weeks. I feel that most of the time I play the songs I wrote, sound like something you would write.

thanks for Being a great influence in my music

Joe, I can't wait to hear the new album! It' always exciting to hear new material for the first time. I am looking forword to buying the new JSX amp. I'm sure the tone is killer. Just to let you know, I am a new member, but a longtime fan. You have inspired me in the biggest way man. Your music just has so much passion that I want to cry when listening to it. It's really cool to think that music without vocals could mean so much. Thanks for the inspiration!

Chris Peters: I really like the S series but unfortunately, Floyd Rose and I have a very bad relation and we are working on a divorce. I really cannot stand it anymore. They are really good and do the Job real well, but I dont use the whammy bar that often. I am now looking for a guitar with a simple bridge and I hope my guitar sells!

Trutina: Double cut les pauls are what I am looking at. I hope they can keep up with the amount of distortion I use. Or it will be a strat....or who knows!

Mikesan: The telecasters are pretty cool too. I am looking into the John 5 model too. Marilyn Manson has always influenced me, and if Johns guitar works out fine with me, I guess I am gonna buy it!

Good night everyone.

Adrianorb - Happy 100!

Hahaha! I loved the talking dog joke...LOL... Some of those one-liners are awesome, too.

Sargent t / IbanezLooey / J BOSS / fender100 - Welcome to the site!
Guitarcake - ITLIS? will be released in the UK on 4/12...
962 - What 3 JS songs did you download as an introduction to Satch?
UF Dean - You're welcome, I guess...LOL. ;-)
jelly man - Did you make the EOC MP3s yourself? If so, then I think what you did is technically legal...but there isn't much legal precedent here so I'm not completely sure how a lawsuit would turn out. You won't get in trouble for it, though, so don't worry about it. Haha...
Sharif - "tv episodes are interesting because the quality at which they are downloaded sux which isn't the case with music since it's all digital anyway"

I agree that television shows (and video in general, really) converted to video files are usually of very low quality. I don't agree with your point about music, though. I can regularly tell the difference between an MP3 and a WAV file, and I'm sure other people here can too. MP3s only contain a fraction of the information that WAV files contain.

zonin - Did you ever get my email about the bootleg of the Hendrix gig?
pinoguy321 - Joe only uses his Ibanez guitars when he plays live, but he uses other ones in the studio.
Big Ric - No, the CD Joe used at NAMM is not available.

You should be able to find a copy of Additional Creations on Ebay.

Sammy Andrews - There isn't really a "set" way that you're supposed to use your effects. Try it several different ways and stick with the one you like best.
Master Yoda - You should have picked John Cage's 4'33 for your transcription assignment. LOL. Artanis I - [English lesson]Joe endorses Ibanez guitars. Joe is the endorser. Ibanez is the endorsee.[/English lesson]

People screw up -er (or -or) and -ee words all the time. Don't feel bad... ;-)

trutina - If the song title is "Here For Me", why does the description say it is "for the woman who is always there for me"...? ;-)

It's a cool song...thanks for posting it...

ThE mYsTiCaL pOtAtO - Are you sure it was Joe? Was it the real song (as far as you know)?

Isn't "nu-metal virtuoso" an oxymoron?

michelle - How does the snow know to fall heavier south of I-80?
TheBob - I'm not sure if Joe uses the JS2000 guitar. I don't think he does...at least not often, anyway.

...Austin...

Austin I hear you, and I agree for the most part. I think my particular example, though, should be allowed, but unfortunately falls under the same blanket of "sharing is bad" because of where I would have turned to to get my CD "replaced". Allowing people to get stuff purely by ripping somethingyou own and then running a P2P app is morally & legally wrong; screw the record companies - it's the artists who suffer. Can't remember who said it yesterday, but yes - probably sending the CD back to the record company would be the best way to circumvent D/Ling stuff. They'd probably try and charge for a new CD though! ;-)

I just heard on the radio that J.J. Jackson passed away Wednesday night... He was one of the first VJs on MTV, back when it was a cool television station that actually played music videos. He's also been a DJ in the Los Angeles area for a LONG time. :-(

He will be missed...

I hope they play on both dates :)

I'm at Uni in Reading at the mo, studying Microbiology (when I'm not playing guitar or getting drunk! teehee). LTE refers to 'Liquid Tension Experiment', a side project of DT featuring Tony Levin (Bass), Petrucci (Genius), Portnoy (Drums) and Jordan Rudess (Keys). They recorded two albums, both instrumental, both a tad self indulgent but I love them! (If you're gonna but one, buy LTE 2 first) Hows the snow?! K

Kirsch - Thanks for the LTE advise, i'll certainly look into it seeing it's instrumental, Oh yeah. The snow is actually just been slaughtered so not too bad up here now. Microbiology? Whoa, that must be really great, not being sarcastic ;-) What level are you at with it. How good are you on the guitar? I've seen you've been playing for a year like me. You get lessons?

Daimyo Mikey (mikesan) - I remember that programme now with David. Yeah, yeah, grasshopper. Ha, lol

Trutina - Hi. We haven't quite met yet but i'm pleased to see that you are OK. Keep hanging, just not from the pavement, lol
