"he who walks with a limp runs with a hop"... lol!!

and

"man with green thumbs good gardener.. man with purple fingers short sighted carpenter... " lol!!!

you have great wisdom clarky...lol..anyway..what do you think of me taking up teaching after the acm course has finished in the summer?? i need some extra cash...but i want to teach the stuff right...chances are i'm going to go thru nu punk and busted.,.with some musicaly short sighted kids...and practically no theory.

any advice from anyone else about teaching? i asked a week ago and no-one replied. any tips or whether i should wait a bit?? what should i work on??

Mr Nick - I'm not too experienced but if you get some lessons yourself from real high up pros, then you'll see the layout and format of their teaching. This, should, help you realise what works best and so on... Best of luck and i'm sure other people will suggest some other stuff, probably better too.

Edit: Mr Nick - Just noticed in your previous posts that you already have had lessons. Oh well, my bad.

Shogun Thanks for the links bro', I'll be sure and put that CD on the wish list ;-)

Tastey I was going to say that I didn't have any idea what a Suzuki Savage is , but Bil's description filled me in. I'm not laughing, sounds like a good all round bike and who wouldn't want to be 'a thumper' - lol. Like Bil said though, you be sure and take care, just assume that nobody has seen you and you'll be ready for 'em when they don't. Happy riding !

TJPLaw43 Happy belated birthday man ! Nice story, welcome to the site.

Dave D'oh! I should have known that............ I think that this comps got a SB Goldcard............. don't know if that is better ? Thanks for the offer anyhow, I'll bear it in mind. I can't do a 'keeping up the Teatle' routine ................ he's got a 5.1 surround card and just got the speakers (incl sub-woofer) to go with it....................... expect techno a go-go anytime - rofl Did I see that you are going to do some tracks with DCK ? Man, that would be a helluva hook up ;-)

Cube Good luck with the teeth man, hope it all goes well.

Clarky Congrats on the placing man, now get the goddamn album finished - lol

Trutina Lmao man, fifth ring of hell...... great dentist story as well. I went to the dentist once and found that my usual dentist had gone (brief panic when i find that out), but I go to the surgery and there is this cute little blonde dentist, I'm thinking 'oh yeah, this is an improvement........ wonder if those stereotype fantasies do ever happen ?'........... Man she butchered me (ouch!!!).......... talk about all that glistens - heh heh. Say 'Hi' back to Miranda from us and do as you're told! ;-)

At the risk of offending a few people............. Quote of the Day (from a mail one of my buddies sent this morning) No gigs for a while in Peterborough as the drummer was run over in a hit and run and has a broken shoulder and a fractured skull (he's OK though, he's a drummer!). - roflmao ;-)

SOTD - Trip to Kabul - Goncalo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

later guys........

eta..yeah...i have had private lessons before..for about 2 years or something..and now at the acm..which is useful i guess..seeing how they teach the basics to a bunch of musical dummies....

edit...and also i saw on petrucci's msg board..about someone asking similair stuff...that its good to continue stuff..like do a song one week..and then continue that the next week..see how they've progressed on the song and if they have learnt how it works and learnt how to play it and understand why it works.

vfrrocker..what new placement is that for clarky??

Mr Nick or someone who knows - What is this "acm"? Another teaching tip, if you could call it that, is to teach scales, theory and so on.... Just another idea ;-)

Tastey - Just read your message and had to reply, couldn't help myself. Here in the south west of Scotland we have a fairly clear sky with a few patches of thin clouds. The sun is out and oh, how it shines. Temps rise as we get ready for spring. But then again it is Scotland so we'll get some more snow here too.....lol. Sorry for teasing you but i HAD TO. Hehehe

Julie, when I see Trump, I'm so busy looking at his hair I don't really know what he's saying. lol! Don't think I saw that one yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

Graham, your assignment for today is to LISTEN to S.M.F. and write a three page report on why you thought All Alone was better. lol! j/k

dck, you were singled out for a reason. You suck! lmao! I'm just kidding with ya, but I couldn't resist that one. lol! They're all good songs, and some were very hard to chose one over the other.

Trutina, maybe your little soldier just needs a good pep talk. Nothing like a good pep rally to get him to stand at attention. lol! Soooo glad your posting again. Miranda is right, you need your rest. Listen to the girl! Over the weekend I bought a two disk set of The Beverly Hillbillies and thought of you. That was one of my all time favorite shows, and Granny makes me laugh my ass off. Oh yeah, if you haven't seen it yet, go rent SCHOOL OF ROCK. It's so friggin funny! Jack Black is insane. I think you were "sleeping" when I was talking about it before.

Clarky, congrats on your chart numbers. Now get the friggin' cd out already! lol!

Stacy, congrats on the bike. So many posts I forgot to say it yesterday.

My kids had their first guitar/bass lessons yesterday. My son got his new Ibanez bass just in time for his first lesson :) His teacher put him on page 21 of the book (what book I don't know?) My son said it was hard, but he seemed o.k. with it. My daughter was told she needs to build her finger strength and was discouraged with her lesson. I think she thought it would be easier?

Any suggestions for a 15 yr. old on how to increase finger strength?

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY to all the Mc's who are, were, and wanna be!

Nick ......his iuma chart positions......

Tastey Its loads of fun, but he hurts when you fall off - lol- I know ! Its like playing a guitar, start off slow and concentrate on being smooth and the speed follows on automatically, just do everything gradually. I always think that there is a pressure on people when they first start to ride, you've got the bike, you've got the look and you want to 'ride cool' as well......... it all comes in time. One other thing don't ride without the proper protective gear on, asphalt will make a mess of anyone real quick. Are you going to put a bike pic up on your site ? Post a link if you do. Or will we see you in Back Street Heroes or Iron Hors (no offence) ? lol ;-)

michelle - I think i may have a suggestion for your 15 y old to build finger strength. Put the fingers together, tightly, bend them a little then hit a hard surface over and over again. This will improve if done right :-) Good to see that they started, they will thank you in the end ;-)

finger strength? hmm..frets 5,6,7,8 on each string...picking only the first note...and then go back down...then do 5,6,7,8,7,6,5 etc...stuff like that would help. making sure all notes are of equal volume..

is that how you spell equal?? i'm sure its wrong...

Stacy, is there any way you could take a safety course? It'll make your insurance a bit cheaper too I think. My husband took a safety course to get his license. Failed the first time because he put his foot down twice doing a figure 8 in a small space they had on the course. Nailed it the second time though. Always wear proper shoes while riding too. I HATE to see idiots actually riding in flip flops & sandals. That's so stupid. Take it slow and easy (hey, good title for a song!) and you'll do fine. How's the helmet law up there? They just made helmets optional here last year (for ppl. 18 & over - and a few other stipulations). It's suprising how many ppl. ride without them.

Thanks guys! I'll let her know. I put The Gripmaster in my favs to show her later. Good idea :)

VFRrocker: when i get a minute i'll take a photo of the bike and put it on my webpage. unfortunately i havent heard of those 2 things you mentioned, are they like easy rider? im ordering a new helmet next week(a "skid lid" dot of course), i have chaps, although im sure i wont where them all the time, and i need a nice jacket, and maybe some gloves?

michelle: yeah there is, im thinking about taking it, they fill up so fast, so i better get on it. yeah the whole show thing is a tough one for me. im the type to always where high heel boots, but when i ride i like a nice flat sole, but lots of boots have a little heal to them, and i feel like it gets caught on the peg and when i need to shift ot brake it get s in the way, so i really like to wear sneakers, but i know thats not good, so im on the hunt for some cool flat boots. and we dont have a helmet law in NH but i will always wear one, they have one in MA though which is the next town over.
