Joeman: those 21 thingies were good stuff. Forgot to mention. So Jacob's a "Studley Dudley" eh? Does he have a comb in his back pocket that he pulls out and uses when the girls are watching?

Joeman9 and Artinais I you guys never know, one day I might show up at your houses and kill you for those comments. it would be a slow painful death.

Just Kidding!!!!!

anyway, no I dont keep a comb in my pocket and to be honest I am not very popular with the ladies (the ones i want to be anyway) though I do have a lot of friends that are girls. when I license (which is in a few weeks) then I wil be chasing them and they will be easy to catch in my car cause it acutally has power. but the gas milage is a different story, lol. but thats the price you have to pay for power. on one areound here seems to get that. they are cheap I guess. anyway, I am gonna turn in for the night, I think I might have ice cream first.

goodnight everyone

Joe Satriani is still the best!!!

Wow...how cluttered! It's been 1 year, 10 months and 10 days since the last post on the old Talk To Joe! We should sing happy birthday to this T2J on the 12th of June.

The old site was cool. I'm looking through all the old stuff. I remember Joe had a picture up of his living room or his music room at his house. Anyone know where I can find it?

I think I know what you're talking about, but I have no idea where it could be. Was it something to do with a webcast from back in the days?

I remember the pic had a bunch of Platinum records on the wall, as well as posters. Then there was some recording gear as well. I think Joe might have even been in the picture with Chromeboy.

climber - My favorite bass strings are GHS Bass Boomers. They have a very cool sound and are fairly inexpensive ($20). They were the first strings I ever tried...I stuck with them for years. I loved them from the beginning, and then I found out that Stu uses 'em too. ;-)

Artanis I - "RE the spell checker for T2J: it's already here...it's called "Austin, Dave, Graham and Ben" heh heh heh."

LOL!

JS JS - You should receive order confirmation via email. If you don't, you can check your order status by going back to the Sony Music Store and logging in with your email address.

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Matt Martinez / Artanis I - That was a promo picture for the Winter 2001 Webcast. It's probably on my computer somewhere, but I did a quick search and I can't find it. Does anyone know what the name of the file was?

mikey vai - thanks! i was basically seeing what kinda things i could do with a two handed approach, then screwing around with odd sounds in the middle... i wasn't particularly thinking of stu, (more of a chapman stick) but i guess stu's half way between the instruments...

stu clone - Here you go = - Someone is eating me is the track

Hey Joe!

Got some questions for you.

In the Live in San Fransisco DVD you have what it looks like a pretty new ChromeBoy Ibanez with other pickups than the usual. Can you tell me anything about them. Great DVD by the way. Another question is I think you've got a girlfriend/wife dont you, I have not heard if you got some children, but anyway, how do you find the time and place for everything when you've got a familly, when you're on tour or in the studio or when you're promoting something, and a guitar virtuoso like you still practice i guess, that you have to find time for also ... how do you apply all this in your life.

Sorry if the gramatics is'nt all that good... :)

Austin I hear what you say on the 'pyramid' copying thing, it's not as bad but it still robs the artist. Think of it another way................... start with 1000 people worldwide, becomes 2000, 4000, 8000 etc that's a lot of royalties and at the same time think of filesharing from a different angle......... it doesn't matter whether 1 person or 1000 people upload, everyone knows where to find this stuff, so it' 1 to 1000 (or 100,000) or 1000 to 1000............... its all academic I suppose.

On the 'wouldn't buy it myself' copying thing........ totally understand why you feel like that but I certainly don't and can't afford to buy everything that I like to listen to............ I mean you must have a 'also ran' list of albums that you haven't bought and probably wouldn't buy in five years time when you tastes have changed slightly ? That's the sort of stuff I meant................. Personally, if I like an album enough I will go and buy it............ if I've had a copy of something that I listen to a lot I've replaced it with the genuine article............. conversely I've had copies that I've played a few times and they end up lost or never seing the light of day again. Its not a defence, its still wrong................. and I agree that the younger generation probably wouldn't buy the original if they had a copy..................... of course I used to be the younger generation.......... once upon a time *sigh*...... lmao ;-)

Slan I'll keep my eyes open man ;-)

Hi dudes! I have one question roundin' my head for years. I play guitar since 1999, and I have my own songs (and people likes it). My question is: Where it would have to take my music to people listen to it? Music, for me is a life style, and, since I listen to Satch's Music, my composition style change 180º. I hope that you will understand me. I'm from Spain. Thanks, and put a forward to this message, please. (Satch, would yoyu mind to put a forward about this topic) Raül MyPersonalWeb

Matt Martinez - I remember the old EOC site - this was a big step forward from the "Cyber Surfing with the Alien" site!

Archive.org has many of the iterations of Joe's site (some of the graphics are broken on some versions, but you can usually see them by clicking on a nearby date):

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.satriani.com

They've got all the way back to the "Joe Satriani" album. I also remember a "Time Machine" branded site - anyone know if this was the first site design?
