Joeman9 hey guess what?!! school is acutally gonna have somthing cool in it! I get to do my research paper in english on Joe Satrinai. its gonna cool. its gonna be ont he best subject, this kid in my class plays guitar and hes pretty cool. he might do his on the acutall guitar, he says that mine is gonna be cool. it is of course if I do a good job which I will. anything with the name Satch attached to it must be the best. so I will do my best.

lol man. I wish they'd let us do that! Man ours is so gay. oh well I can't fight the system by myself. Anything with Satch must be the best. true beyond a doubt. Turn my BOTB in this Fri. I'm kind of nervous. I'm really mad right now though. I can't play anything of Joe's that I want to. See unlike most other guitarists, his music sounds better the harder it gets Not the other way around.

Nspike: I think Frusciante probably used a strat a fender tube amp(prob deluxe or bassman) and a slide.

Sammy Andrews: Does the Traynor have decent quality high gain channel?

OK I was thinking of the guitar names... think of something that has made a great impact upon your life... perhaps a loved one or maybe an event or occurence. name your guitars as a memorial to that.

OCPS470...I'm no expert for sure....what I like may not be what you like...but, to me, after I put the el34's in...this amp reminds me of the old marshall that I once had.... it has a soaring mid range and good crunchy lows and sharp highs...but then I'm playing my js100 with the fred in the bridge.......musicians friend has the amp and they have two sound files you can listen to....channel one distorted and channel two clean....check it out and see what you think...

Can anyone get the "Advanced Search (Beta)" feature to work with the new site?

JS JS - Even though you said you're only going to focus on Joe Satriani for your paper, I thought I'd let you know that Eric Johnson's website is http://www.ericjohnson.com/.

Let me know when you finishing writing...I wouldn't mind reading it.

Summoner - That would be John Cage's piece, 4'33".
Stu Clone - I've never played Teen Town, but I have a lot of fun working through Birdland. Well, I have as much fun as I can considering I don't have a fretless bass. ;-)

If you want to take the easy way out, you can find a transcription of Teen Town at http://bassically.net/. Click here for notes from the transcriber. A link to the actual transcription is at the bottom of the page.

gruskada - LOL...I'm glad SOMEONE around here is starting to like The Souls Of Distortion.

I've been thinking about the bandwidth thing myself. It can go one of two ways:

1.) Sony is really happy that Joe's music is being played so many times, so they increase their promotion in the future.

2.) Sony looks at the amount of money spent on the bandwidth for the clips and the amount of resulting sales, and realizes that people like us who listen to clips again and again make it not worth their money to promote Satch.

;-)

agileHORSE - The main sound you're hearing in Searching is actually a DigiTech whammy pedal.

The older you get, the more you have dealt with what has been thrown your way! You learn to tuck and roll my friend! I am listening to Bob Seger's "Night Moves"! Awesome! I remember being in High School listening! Still feels the same to my soul! Maybe it's a time warp! LOL! I saw him 2x! He F'in Rocks! What a show he used to do!

Mikey Vai: I will be seeing Indigenous Thursday and the Allman Brothers Band In NYC Friday @ the Beacon Theatre! I am so damn excited! I really can't wait ti hear Indigenou! I have 5th row for them! Rock On! "Night Moves!"

SAMMY ANDREWS.....In order to become one with your musical scale. Use The major scales as a reference point (For instance I use C major as mine). Then when I learn new scales I find out what makes those different from the Major scale.(example....The only difference between the Major scale and the Melodic minor scale is The Melodic minor Flattened the 3rd or the E in the C major scale. Instead of needing the memorize the scale, memorize the difference and you will find it much easier

Those guys still rock like they did 20 years ago, amazing!!!!.... After seeing Neil's solo, I'm convinced he kicks Donati's ass, hehe, and man has he been working out or what!!.... I am so stoked cause I was ready to get my money back for the guitar (I also got an estimate for the refinish, but didnt do it.... $1,000!!) and when it came back, the re-repair on the scarf joint was un-noticable!!.... I'm a happy camper!! ;-) btw, I cant get the beta function to work either.... I tried it the other day, and no matter what I wrote, it came up with nothing....

mick87: Thank's man, I am one happy stoked FURY, lol!!.... I guess they felt bad because they sold it in that condition and didnt know it, and I didnt waste any time in returning it to them, hehe!!.... Rush In Rio is gonna rule my weekend!! :-)

Austin: those urinals are too weird ... I think I'd go and slash in the cubicle. It'd be like pissing on a work of art.

Jelly Man: I don't think you've had that name for two years, I'm pretty sure you were the local person when this t2j started. I didn't start using Artanis until late 2002. BTW, it's "suite" not "sweet" you goose.

If that "stick" thingy has 12 strings, surely it should be called a "trunk" ...

Clarky: I'm pretty sure it was the chord police that came around to my place the other day. "You can't play that at this time of the night"

The beta search does work, (to some degree) because I used it to find Austin's post where he had some link (I forget what it was). I had trouble until I found that you need to put a value for date AND time. I just used 01:01:01 for time. Make sure you get all the formats correct.

good ol cliff engel, eh?

i forgot all about that guy! he's how i found out stu was at that summer clinic a few years ago. as for teen town, i got through the first few bars, and checked a tab to see how i was doing. bad news = i spoiled the rest of the first bass chorus for myself, the good news = i was right all the way through enough to be able to tell that the tab itself was wrong. lol.

pastel black, that is a funny picture, but more importantly, congrats on losing 60 lbs!! woohoo for you!!

mick, "That's beautiful hunk of wood you got yourself now: dig the pattern on the body" ~ in my mind, a statement like that shouldn't come from one man to another! LMAO! Nice wood Mikey! ROTF!!! That's so wrong. LOL! As for my son, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He loves my retardation :) and joins in on occasion too! lol! Both my kids are funny and have a great sense of humor.

mari, cool you got the DVD!! Geez man, I didn't realize the show was only a week away! Woohoo! I'll throw you an email tonight or tomorrow. I think I seen Keith with a necktie on his head also now that you mention it. lmao! S'up wit dat?? lol!

Mikey, that crowd is awesome, isn't it! The band really feeds off of their energy. Yipee on the digicam! Go forth and conquer! lol!

An update on my kids and their music lessons - my son is doing great on the bass. My daughter had one guitar lesson and became very discouraged. She seen no future of ever being a guitarist...so she switched to drums and she loves it! lol! She had her first lesson tonight and she was really proud of herself. A total turn around from how badly her guitar lesson went. Her fingertips are very soft and she doesn't have good strength in her - ahh wait! I just thought of something! She's left handed! Maybe that had something to do with her not doing well? No shit! Why didn't I think of that sooner! My husband is left handed but he plays right-handed. Although my daughter's left hand is stronger than her right... Ahhh anyways, she loves the drums like me, so it's all good.

michelle: haha, thanks, I gotta try and figure this thing out this weekend, lol!!.... That's kuul news on your son and the bass, and glad your daughter found her passion, lol!!.... Show her some of those Mike Portnoy vids and she'll be well on her way, lol!!!! ;-)

btw, saw Lost In Translation last nite, and it was kinda boring, lol, hard to get into.... They show a kinda stark reality towards Japan, and it is so different and laid back where I'm at, lol, but I loved how Bill had fun talking to them with those expressionless faces though, lol ;-).... I lost it when he got stuck on that exercise bike too, haha!!....

Lip My Stocking for G3!! ;-)
