I remember when Sammy first started with Montrose...then he left them and was on his own awhile...then he got with the Van Halens and now he's been out again on his own... the man can rock as well as anybody...you guys may not like him...but at least give him some respect..... I can't stand Yngwie, but, I totally respect his ability to rock and roll with the best of em......the rolling stones are a band that I can't stand to listen to...but, jaysus chreeist, look what they've done for rock and roll.....and forever too...they came across just before or about the same time as the beatles and they are still rockin ...this could go on and on...I, like anybody else like a lot of players and dislike a lot of players, but, I won't make the mistake again of bashing any of them...some people [and nobody in particular] bashing everybody has opened my eyes to just how "little" I was for doing that..

I now think that if anybody here had the (for lack of better words) Authority to bash someone it would be Joe...and only because of Joe's vast knowledge of music and the guitar...and I doubt very seriously that you will hear Joe bash anyone... I'm sure he has his likes and dislikes just as we do, but I don't think he's gonna come out and say "Newgene Leadbottom blows horsehair curly and their playing sounds like a whale fartin in a bathtub..... if I'm wrong...then I'm wrong..and I'm sorry to have wasted yer brain cells readin this...

death cube k......trutina hummer eh? if you got on older one would it be called a gummer? LMAO that was great!!!!!!!

Geeze...did anyone here know that there are FIVE Beethoven movies? I've only seen (and heard about) the first two...

Here is a link to the 5th one...I came across it as I was looking up an actor (Michael Chieffo) in an episode of The X-Files.

michelle - Hehehe...thanks for those links.

TASTEY - I thought you would know what Honkin' On Bobo meant because I think you talk about sex more than anyone else here. ;-)
Zachary - I never said I owned this site. Calm down.
The Bob - Happy birthday! :-)
Ya Yo Gakk - Sammy Hagar is an excellent musician. He's done a lot more than "putting out pop music". And hey...DLR released did California Girls after leaving VH. If that isn't pop, I don't know what is.

Have you heard any of Sammy Hagar's Montrose stuff? What about his post-VH solo stuff? Van Halen from 5150 through Balance fits in perfectly with the rest of Sammy Hagar's career.

Artanis I - I didn't have a Satch April Fool's Joke planned for this year. It does sound tempting, though. What about Joe and Avril on Is There Love In Spac8er Boi...? Anyone? ;-)
David5403 - Joe will be in Concord...that's pretty close.

...Austin...

whoa... sooo tired! Just saw a cool show... a Delta Blues Cat named Guy Davis was in town. Man what a show!! Slide Guitar, Chicken Pickin' and Banjo... it was awesome. Somewhere inbetween Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker with the humour of BB King. Great stuff... check him out if you can.

Joeman9 - keep the faith man... bad stuff happens to everyone. But don't worry, because that'll end sooner or later, and the good times are on the way! :-)... take care man.

michelle - Alice on Brady Bunch? Was that back in the day when men had to play women on tv? Or is there some secret sex change involved somewhere? ;-)... ahhhhh!!

Artanis - Little ridges in the socks for the sandel straps? Max Comfort? You now have a new mission in life... go forth into the world and make yee sandel-socks. Then send 50 pairs in white, w/pink bunnies on side to yee fellow man, Mick.

woo... I must be tired. I'm gonna have to load up on Soup, or I'm not gonna make it! Thus goes the cycle of life.... and I must add, that there is always a stage of Truly Poochedness somewhere along the lines....

g'nite gang et Joe....

9icenine, Ok, you can purchase some clear coat in a can, I really dont think you shoud put anything on it, but if you must play this guitar and must have his signature on the guitar the only way to protect it is to spray a few light coats of clear coat. if you have the transparent red you wont notice the clear as much, but on the black guitar it's gonna make that area look a little duller. So there you have it.

p.s, if you must do this, dont paint the entire guitar, just mask the signature off with newspaper and masking tape and hold the can at least 7-8 inches from the finish, then put 5 LIGHT COATS, letting the paint dry 10-15 mins between coats. GOOD LUCK

Bil, that clown gourd looks vvvvery dodgy! lmao!! Do YOU paint them, or just own a few?

Alexandre, cheers!

Bob, happy birthday!!

Benny, some ppl. here use cloth bags too. The stores around here have a recycle program for the plastic bags. We save them (shove all the bags into one), then return them to the bin at the store the next time we go so they can recycle them into new bags - or whatever it is they recycle them into. They also come in handy for a lot of other things too.

Mick, you didn't know Alice the maid was a man?? lol!!

Michelle most of the recycling programs for plastic bags are plain BS...most grocery stores stopped recycling 'colored' plastic bags 5 years ago...but the customers loved the idea so much that most of them still have the recycle bins but they just empty them into the trash cans....sharif....

I feel sad to part ways with my Ibanez, but that bitch wont stop quit using her dildo....I mean the whammy bar!

You guys should read musicgearreview.com. Read the electric guitar section for Fender Squire....and read the ones only with one star. Seriously, it made me LMAO!

962: You know what...if I where you I would call the 800 number on the Dimarzio website and ask to speak to a tech. Tell them the guitar you have and what you are trying to get sound wise, and they'll reccommend the perfect pu set for your sound. That's what i did to find the right matching set for my S470. In fact it turns out that the guy that talked to me was Steve Blucher himself haha! Go figure!

Hey guys, I just read in a science mag that the president of Gibson is making a push to get all of their guitars made in a waythat the signal will only come out as digital to "preserve the signal." What an ass....I mean I can see the benefit of having that type of interface if you need to jack straight into a pc plugin, but trying to change the industry is asanine. First, guitarists like tube amps....analog tube amps. That's why the amps have gotten louder, more efficient and better sounding over the years, because we weren't willing to give them up, so they were improved over time. Second, guitarists use anolog pedals like DS1's Tubescreamers etc etc that use anolog chips to produce warm tones. We shure ass hell are not going to redesign pedals to have a D to A to D signal path to work with the new Gibson jacks. And the idea that a "digital guitar" is a purer image of the sound is bullshit. I think regardless of how close the copy gets, the real deal will always have an intangible vibe that is better. I mean, for several years I used a podpro rig which sounded great and very convincing live and in the studio, but after getting a good tube rig it can't keep up. What do you guys think about the coocoos at Gibson?

JS_JS: Hey that was me who made the comment about G3 appearing at an Ozzfest event. I to believe it would class the event up. I would have the G3 first and let everyone else follow. I thought it would be funny to see, kind of like when Jerry Lee told Chuck Berry " follow that killa" when Chuck insisted on playing last at a show they appeared together on. Jerry Lee set the piano on fire after his set.

If we think hard, we should wonder how in the last 100 years or so, has man advanced in knowledge so quickly? But the even more wonderous question is what was the trigger knowledge that made it all happen, and why? From 1900-1969 we went from basically horse and buggy, to the moon.

OCPS470: Hey that will only make all the vintage Gibsons more valuable, huh.......

You are right about the analog tube gear, I like the tone better. I am not sure if you remember the old master orginal LPs. This was back in the 70's before CDs. A friend had a master original of the first Boston LP. He had spend nearly $300.00 on a diamond needle for his turn table. Till this day I have not heard a recorded anything that has sounded better. I like the old analog LP tone over the digital CD anyday. I believe something was lost in the conversion, sound wise.

Flagg: Time Stand Still is from Hold Your Fire, and it's an awesome song, I agree. I also really like Momentary Lapse of Reason. If it's a solo Gilmour album then it's a damn fine one as far as I'm concerned. I always thought they should have followed it up with something like Momentary Relapse For No Apparent Reason though, but their too serious for such nonsense lol.

LGU89: No, I haven't heard it but I was told it was a bunch of Vegas style showtunes or something of that nature, so I stayed away from it lol.

death cube K: LMAO! But hey, she's got low miles lol.

mick 87: Have you seen the commercial for some sort of cleaning product that has a lot of tv's maids on vacation? It has Alice, the lady from the Jeffersons (what's her characters name?) and the lady from Will and Grace and, oh yeah, Benson and some more I think. It's kinda funny.

Alexandre: Happy Birthday to you, enjoy!

TheBob: Happy Birthday man, and I think I'd go with the lessons. The pick ups will eventually be discarded, but the lessons will stay with you for life.

michelle: No gourd painting for me, or ownership either lol. I found that site thru google. I think my step mother collects those things though. When I was looking for the perfect page to link here, I found some that were pear shaped, and painted to look like giant pears and they were over $100 a piece! I'm in the wrong business.

Rant of the day: I don't know if you guys remember or not, but a little while before my week long nap I had an ordeal, (well, I was unconscious, but Miranda had an ordeal) at an emergency room that wouldn't take care of us? If not, quick refresher: She took me there, got signed in and sat waiting for five hours in the waiting room before she finally lost it and took me to another hospital. Anyway, the bastards at that hospital had the audacity to send me a fucking bill! Can you believe this shit? $118 they charged me to sit it the fucking waiting room for five hours. I was unconcious the entire time! How much trouble could I have been? I am so looking forward to calling these fuckers tomorrow, you have no idea. If it had shown up yesterday, I would have sworn it was an April Fool's joke. I kinda feel sorry for whomever answers the phone in accounts receivable tomorrow lol.

I'm not gonna post the quote of the day yet. I think they're gonna have some good ones for me to use after I get through with them lol. Goodnight all.

Edit: "If it had shown up yesterday"? OK, too medicated, too tired, too pissed and just not functioning properly lol.
