I had a chance to visit your master-class in Moscow! I absorbed every sound, every word coming from you, every move, every emotion with a gratitude to all for this amazing chance! In fact it was a real CLINIC… A true lesson of life. A lesson of love to everything we do in our lives. A lesson of HARMONY. Than something happened in my soul. It is just impossible to express my feelings in words. But I can’t help writing of it. It can happen when a revelation come to us… when we touch the truth… I am grateful to you for…the pain mixed up with the joy that sharpens our feelings:

a thirst for life… desire for going ahead… pain of perfection…

I am grateful to you for… having seen and listened to you once I want to be better and kinder that I can see the truth now I can feel the life, the soul, all love…and space…I can touch it…

I want to present you a photo of my favorite toys. They are strange and beautiful and very kind...There is something more in this photo. There is a piece of a mysterious light…maybe it looks like a sun, maybe it looks like a moon…

How can I send it? I can't enclose it with my message

Little bird

SupaaDave, yeah, I don't actually believe that one myself. I was just being silly. Eeesh! The husbands brothers ex? Let's just get the whole family envolved, shall we? Man, that bites! Cheating on someone is like the sin of sins. Nasty emotions always follow. That's about the worst feeling you can have in a relationship IMO.

Fuuny topic on guitars/women. Wood quality will make a big difference in the noises you get ;-)

I recently heard Aerosmith's cover of "Baby Please Don't Go" on the radio. It's not bad, but I much prefer AC/DC's version. Anyone besides me familiar with that one?

Bill, you take it easy.

Tastey Nice bike Stace, cool looking custom machine, nice and clean too :-) On tattoo's I've got a few and my wife has 3............... if you aren't sure but you think you'd only know for sure if you got one done, go for a smallish one, somewhere out of the way - like on your hip - and live with it for a while. If you can easily hide it and it won't be on show in a normal situation it's not going to ruin your life. Tats are totally different to piercings, there's kind of a 'rite of passage' thing about them - I have no regrets and I don't know anyone else who does. I think the people who regret tats are the ones who get them done young, they end up with girl's names, tats they can't hide are crap backstreet ink............. I reckon they'll be a few guys around in a few years time who really didn't want the side of their head inked - lol

Hey, I have an idea for the new cd. Put out a special version that has a vcd of Joe playing all the songs. He can just be sitting in his home chair in his boxers for all I care. (I'm thinking of Marcel Coenen's cd/vcd.)

I'm gonna go jammin' (in an hour) with this old friend of mine. He's a (good) guitarist-singer (and he can play drums too, so I can rip his guitar in between!). It's been a while since the last time with him, so I AM excited !!! ...if there were handles on this globe,,, He told me he wants to start with Joe's "Up in the sky", he plays that one really nice...TJJEEESUS!!!

Gotta go. Rock on, everybody!

Stacey, I thought I mentioned that it was the blues? Maybe not? It's a great cd. I love that kind of stuff :) Nice bike too! Since I have tattoos does that make me a bad girl? lol! Whew yeah! lol! How many piercings do you have?

Powerslave, haven't heard the AC/DC version. Know where I can find it on the net to take a listen?

Bil, I have a solution here... since your brain is trying to tell you you need to be on the floor, you need to outsmart it! Get some comfy blankets & pillows on the floor to sit on, get the newspaper, books, computer, the remote, Miranda, and the dog, and just chill on the low side :) Also, I've decided you need to grow an afro. Perm it up if you have to, but brutha you need some cush on that head of yours! Poof it up & pack it down! You need to take care of yourself bro! All kidding aside, please post here anytime you want. Good mood, bad mood, in the mood for...well, you might not want to post here for that. We've seen what Miranda can do. lol! WE HAVE THE POWER!!! lol! Take it easy man.

Joeman9 - I wouldn't doubt it. I do know that it's not true that Thal plays with a thimble, though (a popular rumor).

Thal is a really cool guy - we used to correspond via email, and I sent him one of my demo tapes that he took a lot of time to critique. And he was cool enough to do an interview for my instrumental guitar radio show (and record promos for it) back when I was in college. I'll have to dig up the tapes and post them on my site when I get some time. It was really great having the show - lots of great unknown guitarists would send me demo tapes, and I'd play the good ones on the air.

I have heard "Baby Please..." the Aerosmith version and also the ACDC version. I even recall a Ted Nugent version from way back but my fave is still the illustrious version by Budgie. Budgie were very cool in their time although their boogie riff rock sounds a little dated today!! Tony Bourge was a pretty big influence (for me) early on!! Of course we all know that Van Halen and Metallica amongst others loved covering Budgie tunes...

The Nuge version was on Double Live Gonzo, one of the great live albums of all time...

michelle/bad girl: you probably did mention that, i just wasnt paying attention. and it would have helped if i read the front of the cd where it says its all blues...der....

i only have 3, tongue, bellybutton, nose, not that fond of the nose one, did it over boredom one night, but i'll keep it for a little while, hate to draw attention to my nose, since i dont like it. it is addicting though, its like what next, but really what is? i know there are tons of places, but most i wouldnt do, altough i get crazier in my old age i think so ya never know...

i think the afro is the best idea for trutina!

clarky: you"re way to busy, cut it out! lol. hurry back....

Hello to all

I would like to adress this message to Joe. It concerns this troubled recent experience I had. I tried to posted it but it was too long. So I'll give you the short version of what I wrote.

Sevilla Expo92. Shocked! Bought "Surfing..." and "Flying in a blue Dream" albums. Shocked! Bought guitar the following month. Nylon strings.Ibanez. Bad guitar. Started taking lessons.Violent discussion on why could I not put Satch songs between Sor and Villa-Lobos studies. Agression. I win. "The Extremist". Shocked! Bought electric guitar. Blue. Ibanez. The "Red" album. Shocked! Invitation for a band. First rehersal: "no solo" lecture. Last rehersal. Another band invitation. Lecture on "secundary role of guitar in contemporary pop music: a case study". Agression. I win. Started working. Paused on guitar playing. (Pause) 2003.Restarted playing. Bought electric guitar. Blue. Ibanez. Home recorded songs. Showed sample songs to friends. Comments:"Nice, but it sounds a bit like Satriani, don't you think?" "foff!" Showed songs to friend guitarrist. Legendary guitarrist cruelty. Went home really sad. chuiff....First thoughts: “Ok, Mr. Satriani, so I listened TOO MUCH your albums, I tried TOO MUCH to play YOUR songs, hell, I even got a EDR because I couldn’t afford a JS!!! See, see what happened?? So, how do I get rid of you?”

Nobody answered. Breath slowly. Taking my medication. All becomes clear. Regrets. The pain, the pain!! Had to do something zen(consciousness is a powerful thing, so you kids out there, don’t try do mess with it at home)

What become clear resumes to this: thank you so much, Mr. Satriani. Thank you for exposing me to music, which made me want to listen to more. So much that I had to try to learn it and pick up the guitar. I thank you because it has been a tremendous joy discovering that instrument and the process of making music, regardless of being or not a good musician. It was the sound you were able to make the trigger to make me want to do it. If I have not become a good musician or never will, at least I am now a more aware listener, more interested and eager for different things. That is a pleasure and a lesson I will retain for life. And if listening to your music was, and still is, an inspiration, also the words you shared with us helped me to continue to believe, dream and to fight for more, even for a an amateur like myself.

Above all, I thank you for your music. And I speak for myself and for the little boy David, air-guitar shredder so many times interrupted while performing your songs by some angry neighbour demanding to turn it off!! Your music was there in some of my most exhilarating moments, but was also one of the guiding lights in times of storm. If I had to pay for my life’s soundtrack, I would have to pay you a fortune in royalties, so many times it was present.

I hope you all don’t get me wrong. I’m pretty sure I don’t sound like Satriani – that would be impossible, even if I wanted to. That requires skills and talent that I don’t have.I remember that Brian May said once that, no matter what people might say,you always start because of someone, you always have a reference.I cannot agree more. As it is important that your try to be creative and unique, otherwise it will not have the same meaning. That I learned from you also, and is another thing to be thankful. How much time will it take? As long at it takes. It is commonly known that in music, the only real hard part is the first 50 years period, so no stresses!;) And another thing: if “sounding like Satriani” means, by any chance, that it is rock guitar but it all sounds special, at all levels, I would have to say that is one of the best compliments anyone could do to me.

But, to be honest, I also realized that I shouldn’t care much about my friends opinions – after all, rock guitar instrumentals? They all only really know one name... ;)

Peace and love for you all

...and now I can go to sleep...
