Hmm, Sorry joe, but judging from the clips of the new CD, I really did not like any of it. I am sure it will grow on me, butat first listen nothing except "Searching" really jumped out to me as being cool.
Kinda disapointed.

Is anyone here going to tomorrow's signing at Tower on Sunset? It'd be cool to meet up with some T2Jers. As far as I know, Russ and I are the only T2Jers who will be there. Who else is going? Any lurkers? Post a message to say hi (or email me) so I can find you tomorrow...
Greyfox88 - Wow...that's a huge number. It's probably right, especially if you've never run an anti-spyware program before. I bet most of the files are "bad" cookies used by spyware programs.
Okay...I just read your other post. Hmmm... Lavasoft's Ad-Aware is a wonderful program. Try that one. I use it regularly and have experienced no problems whatsoever. When you're deleting spyware programs, it's normal for you to receive a few error messages... If you restart your computer and do another scan you should be able to get rid of everything.
bluebuffalo - So...you listen to Mark & Brian out of Portland? I've listened to them for about eight years or so...I love 'em!
jazzy boy - MegaBoyd told me that Joe played for about 30 minutes (4 classics + 3 new songs) before the signing started. Joe played to backing tracks.
Stringless Obsession - Don't you think Joe needs a travel day to get from Los Angeles to Tuscon? ;-) Make the drive up to LA if you can...it'll be long but very worth it.
Powerslave214 - I think Just Look Up is probably my least favorite song on the album. It's not bad, it's just "less good" than everything else.
962 - MegaBoyd is a huge Steve Stevens fan, so I'm sure he'll have plenty of good stuff to say about him.
He's most famous for being Billy Idol's lead guitarist and (at least on this site) for recording the Top Gun Anthem.
...Austin...

Hey Joe! Question, on Searching, I think you're using a whammy pedal but around 2:15 into the song, you're doing these sick dives and like bubble sounds, what is that?
everyone else, any idea when/how to find Tumble on itunes? my roommate thought it was dumb to put an exclusive on there like that but personally I think its a great idea and way to promote itunes. I'm trying to ween myself onto it, I finally got a credit card so time to get some music lol.
Thanks,
Nik

962 Steve stevens is awesome! check out: Bozzio, levins, stevens black light syndrome ( best if you try amazon.com ). steve steven's Flamenco a go-go is fantastic. the vince neil band's debut album ( the vocals aren't that great but the guitar work is fantastic ) billy idol's rebel yell is a classic album co-written by steve. and of course the top gun anthem. those are just a few highlights. dig in! he's one of the best!
Joe Ruuules!!!!!!!

Do the Stu--Austin, I wish I could make it up to Sunset Blvd, by the time I get off of work and fight traffic....I'll never make it in time. I called Tower Records and bought the CD they are going to try to get it signed for me while Joe is there and then mail to me. It's not the same, not being there in person, but hopfully it will work out to get a signed copy.

Megaboyd: What classic songs did Joe Play? I hope he plays Crushing Day, Back to Shalla-Bal, Lights of Heaven and Time. I want him to play some Metal real loud and aggressive. So hardcore that everyone starts crowdsurfing and Moshing. Pleasant dreams.....

DO THE STU, I've been listening to M&B going on 5 years now, are you going to be dialing in tomorrow for Joe( I know dumb question), Brian doesn't particularly care for Joe's music but he says he likes that other guitarist that plays lowrider and the grinch plus other season songs. He's alright but he's not Joe, see I forget his name,

mmmmm i havent posted in a while. did notice the fripp discussion. all i have to say is his playing is awe inspiring and although he always plays sitting down you see and hear more action on his performances than if you were watching a monkey on fire doing cartwheels while playing a ten-neck guitar. to anybody who hasnt discovered robert fripp yet. i recommend the king crimson "eyes wide open" dvd, you get a taste of the frippertronics soundscapes plus the always mighty king crimson. plus a ton of improv jams.

jazzy_boy joe's usual repertoire (at least for the ones i've caught) tends to include FIABD, satch boogie, crush of love, and sometimes a few others depending on what the reason is that he's there. example: for one, it was all guitarists, and he was talking about the creative process, so he used the CRATS backing track and just played over it with a bunch of different ideas for six minutes.

Joe, I got your recent newsletter and was wondering if you would consider putting some of your video/radio appearances/performances on your press clippings site on the Vault page. It would be good to see something recent with you especially if it includes some live performances from your new album...which is FRIKKIN' AWESOME...by the way.

962: Steve Stevens is an awsome guitarist, who backed Billy Idol for most of the 80's. He did a solo record, and one band album in the early 90's. As well as the classic "Top Gun Anthem" He then played with Vince Neil when vince left the Crue, and released the "Exposed" CD in 93' That's probably my favorite stuff from him, he absolutely SHREDS on that cd. I know he did some stuff with Terry Bozzio and Tony Levins (sorry if i mispelled that last name there) I think that's the bassist anyways. They have put out 2 instrumental cd's in the last couple of years, haven't heard much of it though.

I'm new to this message board, so sorry if this has been brought up before.
A friend and I went to go see Joe at the Sun Theater in Anahiem, California, last year. The sound was HORRIBLE!!! We both went to the soundboard, and they claimed that Joe himself listened to it during the sound check, and said that is how he wanted it. So we got the manager, and he checked backstage, and said the exact same thing. They said they would not fix anything, because Joe himself supposedly said he wanted it that way.
Both the guys at the soundboard and the manager said that there were many other people complaining about the sound also, and everyone around us that we asked agreed that it was very bad and annoying.
We will not see Joe live again if this is how the sound will be. I'm hoping to receive an explanation as to why this happened, and if it's the norm at most of his concerts now.
- Tom

JazzyBoy: thanks for giving my stuff a listen. Here's why I think you were breaking your 9 set of strings. If your Floyd was set to be balanced for a set of 10's, a set of 9's would mean there would be the same ammount of spring tension pulling the bridge back into the body, while the 9's would mean less string tension to balance the springs, leading to a futile attempt to get the guitar to stay in tune and possibly string breakage. What you have to do is turn the adjustment screws holding the spring plate (in the guitar) to let a little spring tension off the springs so they will balance with the set of 9's. That's my best guess, and floyds can be finicky to set up. When I swapped my lotrsII for a real floyd system I was dreading it because of having to set a new pair of fresh springs...it ended up taking me 3+ hours to get the springs to loosen up a little and calm down enough to balance....ugggggg!!
