more than 20 pages since I was last here! Mucho skimmage required....

Joeman9 I was a Vai fan (having heard Call It Sleep by accident on the radio) and read him praising this unknown guy called Joe Satriani. I waited for what seemed like forever for NOTE to come out and have been hooked ever since :-)

Hey I caught some MP3s of the radio thing from the 16th... sounds pretty cool

trutina I think Hal is starting to rebel and he's started with the disappearing of my Whammy pedal :-(

love those pics Austin put up!! Cool! :-)

....still 18 pages to go... groan....

Kam Cheng beer helps get rid of insomnia ;-)

rusty dawg I'm with you on the Gnahh / Borg Sex similarity! Maybe it's part of the same "story"?

Alexandre Paul & Teatle: hiya! :-)

Not sure about the new album... all the I IV V tracks sound kinda House-Full-Of-Done-It-Before to me... I get the idea - blues-based, etc, but I never really liked at sound/feel... the others are sounding damn good though... I love the title track... very melancholic

Still not received that email, Ninja! You might want to try sharpfour@spymac.com

Right I'm off, hope you're all enjoying your weekend...

Tip of the day: don't put out a campfire with your face

...laters, Dave...

trutina - eeeuuuuwwww... lol

sammy - ok... don't panic.. lol... 1st position starts on the 2rd fret of the 6th string... you make your way all the way up to the 1st string and back down to the 3rd fret, 6th string, 1st finger....

the 2nd position starts on the 5th fret, 6th string [note = A] so you slide the 1st finger from the 3rd fret to the 5th fret to get there...

Mikey - thinking on it.. I could also release a CD of the backing tracks... I guess some guys would want to try it all for themselves..
ocps - yup that's pretty much it... however, the fingerings those guys use are still a nightmare.. and be-bop takes years and years to master...

GODSGUNSGUITARS: Guitars and their "special moments" had be laughing, man. And yeah, you're kinda right on them always being right. I've learned that when I'm right, I need to keep my mouth shut lol. So yeah, they're pretty much always right! Oh, by the way, good phrase to use to automatically get sent to dog house: Who lit the fuse on your tampon? Will upgrade her from slightly irritated to angel of death in less than five seconds lol.

PhryDom: Yeah, I didn't really think you'd be into this album much. I've heard you say before you aren't into the blues thing at all. I'm glad you're digging some of it though. Oh, and be careful trying to unplug Hal. No telling what might happen lol.

Clarky: Oh, I meant Sodom and Gomorrah. Knew those weren't spelled right lol.

well joe......youve done it again.... i have been wating for this newest release for a while and as always you delivered......BIG TIME!!!!!!!! what i love mist about the new album is the way the driving rythms and the opportunity for improvisiation coincide. you set it up perfect for the way you like to get wicked with the the moment and the emotion that runs so passionatly thru your veins. I love to spread the word of joe to my customers at my work and i love when people hear yoir music and ask me '' who is this?" i say "the great one Joe Satriani of course who else could possibily make a gutair shout out the way a human being feels in his heart? its as if you hook up a patch ccord to your soul and let it all come ragin out. this is what seperates you from ANYother musician ive ever put ears to. you will never know how much your music has affected my life as well as everyone else that i associate with on a regular basis. you music is engrained in my childrens heart and they can identify your trademark sound at any time.....they are three and four years old. thank you so very much for bringing so much love and passion to this world. your fans for life....the rivers family

Hi... Me again. Chrome Gian, you can be glad. You know that Joes comin to Italy. But germany, nothing about that.

I was on one concert in my live and it was NENA. Oh god, a few freinds of my put me in this concert. Never again!!! Since this day, I think (and do so): Never go to a concert before you have seen one of the best guitar playing man LIVE!!! And I can't believe, this year he could be in Germany. Before 2 years I passes his concert in "Tuttlingen" and that was terrible.

My best Greetings to Joe, please make much more of your fantastic Music.

Hey... happy saturday Satchland...

Just a quick note to mention that if anyone is in northern Minnesota tonight, stop in at Fortune Bay Resort & Casino. I'll be displaying my raw guitar talent ;) there with the band "Sundown".........hopefully some of the "slot-heads" will peel themselves away from the machines long enough to witness the pure talent flowing from the stage...heh heh. Anyways, the "Live Entertainment" thing is a new concept with this place so we're not listed on their event calendar yet.

Who lit the fuse on your tampon? Bah-ha-ha....my girlfriend will get a kick out of that. Although she did'nt see the humor when I called them "Vampire Tea Bags"

Trutina: The angel of death!!

Thanks for the warning. Maybe we should demand warning labels on those things. Like:

1. Lighting fuse WILL be detrimental to your health!

2. Never light fuse while in use!

3. If fuse is accidentally lit, run like hell, and duck!!!

4. For best results after lighting, have large comfortable dog house available, stocked with food and beer!

I’m singing to her now “Just between you , just between you and me”. I better quit before I have a skillet over here that looks just like me ;-)

Man….. those special moments. We should rig those things to just go off and send them all to Iraq, Iran, and a few other places I can think of, maybe that would take the fight out of them.

Well I’m off to the V-Tone show………………..Clint

trutina, unfortunately yes, I do think a shit-storm is a-coming! I don't see that any of us in the west should be expecting the nations of the middle-eastern world to completely re-werite their culture just so it falls into line with our plan, our roadmap to peace. You can't write someone elses future based on your own principals if they're different from the principals of the people you're supposedly trying to 'help'.

help my ass.......what's the excuse with North Korea? so they have weapons of mass dysfunction......so do a lot of countries. Are we going to invade ourselves next?! hehe. Okay i'm done now...I don't wanna cause a shit-storm right here in Joe-land!

The Forgotten (Part 2) For G3!
Gerg1e, what more do you want to know about G3-Europe? If it's tour dates, you can find them here and on Vai's site. You going to one of the UK shows?
Beethoven's pianoforte, hahaha, I so know what you mean about Woodstock Jam.....first time I listened to it I thought "oh. well that was....ummm......interesting. What was it for?" nevermind. The new record is growing on me....I think I like 'Lifestyle' best!
Ethn, I'm interested in your thoughts on ITLIS.....I find it very similar, in a lot of ways, to SBM. I think it's generally better, and there are some nice tones on there. Solo-wise...I dunno, I like the old style, everything up to Crystal Planet. ITLIS, the track itself, sounds like it was concieved right after recording The Traveller, The Journey or You Saved My Life!
Sammy Andrews/Trutina, my guess is that Joe likes the stuff he's published.
DCK, hmm....so with the BF Tuning system, is the nut permanently closer, or is it mobile? sounds weird.

DoTheStu--- great pics! I wish I got some pics too but I was kinda in the back and everyone was taller than me! so they didn't turn out too nice...

OCPS470 --- Well IMHO, I'm not sure about the 'fingerings' involved in bebop but the freedom you're talking about comes from the fact that jazz players no longer had to play swing 'dance' music to entertain people. They could play a wide range of tempos, not just danceable tempos. Also, the notes themselves create extensions in the harmony which allow for more possiblities/ freedom when improvising. that's just what I think. So it's free but there are still 'parameters' that they follow...

trutina--- long time no see too! I've been busy with school but I try to stop by every once in a while.

Dear Mr Satriani:

I have followed your work for many years, and I belive that you are the greatest guitar player in the world. Also, I'm a big blues fan, evry time you get in a Blues Mood, I almost can not belive you are that good. Have you ever planed to record a "Blues" collection?. I also hope you'll be back to Mexico, we love your music.

/\/\ikey hey bro! Don't worry on the order - as and when is fine matey :-)

Ethn you know I have a memory like a sieve! lol who's the ninja then? Mega?

boydscott I use Sonar 2.0XL on a P3 866 running Win98. Seeing as you have XP you might want to take a look at Sonar 3 - it's apparently much better but runs on XP minimum (I can't install XP so I'm stuck! lol) but to answer your question, yeah, you definitely have adequate hardware :-)

Right I'm gonna look (again) for that damn pedal... it's gotta be here somewhere!!! Later all, Dave
