JS_JS: Sorry if I said 189...I mean to say 18, which is how long he's been in the business as far as most people in the US are concerned. Anyway, like I said, I was just being an ass and pointing that out to you. About the whole gay thing, again, maybe nobody in your family was born with it because you're a bunch of bible-thumping, holier than thou Christians. You can say what you like, but I'm sorry you don't just one day wake up and say..."you know what I'm gonna be gay from now on," or "you know what I don't wanna be gay anymore." It's not something you can just change. You can deny it all you want, but it'll never change. I have a question for you...have you ever had a friendly relationship with a gay person or do you just go by what your family and your church tell you, that it's wrong? If you had talked to someone who's gay for more than 2 minutes you'd realize that other than sexual preference, they're no diffedrent than you or me. Do you think that Caesar went to hell because he was less of a person? Over 50% of the Greek population at that time was bisexual, so did they all get sent to Hell when they died? Doubtful. And others made comments to you regarding your racist behavior precisely due to comments like "faggot lovers" and "tree hugging hypocrites." Hopefully one day you'll grow up and open your eyes to the rest of the world. Do the world a favor and don't be like the guy on campus every day who screams that everyone who's gay, Jewish, Muslim, has sex before marriage, looks at pornography, wears low-cut shirts, etc. is going to Hell. Too bad it seems as if that's where you're heading.

Joe,

The song "If I Could Fly" on your new album is probably the most 'feel good' song I've ever heard. I love to hear it.

Also, you'd probably have about a dozen Grammy's if the songs they nominated you for were some of your more popular hits, and if those who voted weren't biased towards people who live off their fame from 25 years ago or other's fame (i.e. Carlos Santana)

Hey guys, hows Satch land? Been a while since I've been here but I can see this argueing #$%$ is still going on :S

Mis- hey Mis :)

During one of the rare times that I do get a chance to read T2j, I looked in to this arguement about gays ect. I feel that I have to put my OPINION in. Wheather you are Christian, Catholic, Prodesten, Jewish, Islam, Buddist, White, Black, Orange, Purple, You should always love people for who they are. You don't go attacking someone or criticize them for who they are. why can't people learn to accept and respect others who are DIFFERENT? You know the things that tear up the world so much are religion, nationality, and diversity, along with all the others but these are a BIG 3. If these things could be respected, we could have a much better future. Love everyone, even your enemies, and have the peace and understanding. Accept people for who they are, and they will accept you for who you are. I'ts loveing, respecting and a god who always forgives, no matter what you do. If we were all perfect we wouldn't be here. In MY religion there is no hell. The only real hell is here on earth that from which all this disgust of diversity and greed fuel the fire to.

JSJS- I'm not puting you on the spot, this is just my opinion, BUT, regardless of what your religion tells you weather to like or dislike gays, or who ever. You should ALWAYS love and accept people for their personality and diversity. Try looking at the world as your brothers and sisters. Thats who we are. Were all family and we should stick together and love one another.

Sorry bout the double post but I didn't want this mixed in with the other stuff. I have a theory for why people "don't like" ITLIS...everyone hears about a new Satch album and is thrilled. I personally expect at least one song on each album to just completely blow me away. That song just isn't there on this one. After my 12th listen to the entire album in the last 3 days, I definitely have found my favorites, but there's nothing that just gives me the chills. It almost happened with Souls of Distortion played really loud, but the thing I enjoy the most on most Satch songs are those transitions from slow - fast or low - loud. I DO like the album now, but I'm just not IMPRESSED with anything on it. I think that a few of the guys on this board could have honestly written this album. Basically, we all just expect too much because of the incredible stuff that Joe's done before. Anyway, my favorites are going to have to be Up In Flames, If I Could Fly, Souls of Distortion, and ITLIS. There's nothing I DON'T like at all, but there are a few that I probably won't listen to much. Last note - too much unnecessary wah.
Please don't take this as "he doesn't like the album...what an ass" because I do. I'm just not that impressed with it compared to the rest of Satch's albums.

Damn, I wish Joe would do a US tour with just him and Vai. For some reason I don't really want to see him with Deep Purple because I've already seen them a lot, but if he doesn't have a problem with it I shouldn't either.

Dear Joe:

I just faxed a request to Sony for rights to use several of your songs in the soundtrack of the comedy feature film "Eat Lead, Satan". The cast includes Gary Busey, Crispin Glover and Traci Lords as well as the three teenagers who are the lead characters. I'll update to this site as the picture gets closer to release.

Noppa hey no prob dude(tte?sorry I don't remember your name or anything so don't be offended!) anyway I didn't know that Slick and The Eight Steps were unreleased for US or anyobne till I saw the star on the back saying * Previously unreleased and * Unreleased in US

UF Dean hey wow that close to leavin huh? wow it must be nerve racking! anyway as far as the new CD. I think I see where you're coming from because I kind of have the same feeling for it. I like it but even If I Could Fly isn't as good (to me) as FIABD or SWTA. I don't want to thiknk Joe's not the same anymore but I do think he's heading in a little different direction than before but he excels at all he does too.

This is going to sound like such a stupid post...but I thought of it earlier on this evening...

who was the man/woman who one day decided that they would go upto a cow "pull the pink dangly" things and drink whatever came out?

I mean think about it, if they got a cow and a bull mixed up they would've either had an extra orifice created, or they would've had some funny tasting milk lol

Delfino, i have had alot thoughts like that, like... how did someone come across the guitar? were some person tried to make a trap for catching an animal and put 6 wires/strings in a row paralell each other and tied it to trees on each side and wen an aligator hit it, it made lovely tunes and he/she thought.. hey! good idea, we get some wood and put some strings on it and we shall call it... geetar. surly people can't just come up ideas like straight away, like they woudl sit down and all of a sudden they have an idea to build a higly sofisticated machine out of wood and call it a calculator... in fact.. how did they come up with it? did they think, i'm too lazy to add up so i get somthing to do it for me. and who invented adding up and the values of numbers? u never know the numerical sequence could go 13542 or somthing.. if u know what i mean. think about the numerical thingy, if u think of it, we invented the number millions of years ago and gave each number a value for eg, 1 is 1 and 2 is 2, wat if they did it like 1 is 5 and 2 is 1? u know all weird like....

Clarky..hmmmm...maybe I missed somethin but I think you misunderstood what I was asking...ok...the first position G major of your exercise ...string, frets.... 6th, 3,5,7 ..5th..3,5,7..4th..4,5,7...3rd..4,5,7...2nd..5,7,8 ..1st..5,7,8.....now my question..2nd position.. is this correct?....string,fret...6th...5,7,8...5th 5,7,9...4th...5,7,9....3rd..5,7,9...2nd...7,8,10....1st..7,8,10...if so, then I can continue with learning this exercise.. :o)

962..I'm sure of that, but, I don't think that every single song he has recorded can be regarded as his favorite tune to play..... Trutina and I are quite sure that Joe has his favorites not based on anybody elses input, and we are curious as to what they are... :o)

Greyfox Yea i have loads of thoughts along those lines. In the end I just give up thinking about them and just accept them. With the numerical thing, its why Im bad at math, I ask too many questions like why does "COS" = 1, why dont they just call it 1? The person who invented infinite...was he in a counting competition and couldn't accept defeat or something?

WHY ARE THE BRUINS LOSING 3-1 TO THE CANADIENS?!...and to think I can't even watch the match because its not "hockey night" on channel 5...and when it is its 1am...till 3am or to whenever overtime finishes. Im moving to Boston when Im older...so people... Is it nice in Boston, would you recommend I move there in the future?

When he was 5 years old he was a happy little boy... when he was 7 he wanted to be a hairdresser... When he was 9 he became very quiet nobody knew what was going on, not even himself... at the point he was 11 he was cutting himself with razors... punishing himself because he was a bad boy... when he was asked why he was bad he couldn't give you an answer... at 14 he was admitted in a institution for kids with mental problems because he tried to killed himself... 16 he dropped out of school and lived on the street... His problem? He's gay... Actually it's not his problem... it shouldn't be his problem either... It's narrow minded idiots who think they can decide what is right or wrong, who won't accept that not everyone is the same and deny people who are *different* to be themselves... They are the cause boys like him get beat up on the street or in school becausethey are gay... are afraid to show who they really are because being gay is wrong and they make their lives a real struggle... This boy now lives with us.... next week he turns 17 and I hope in the future he will be confident enough to ignore ignorant people in this world, and will be able to accept himself for what he is... a wonderful person...

For the guy that says there are no gays in his family at all... You don't know that... You would be surprised how many people are married, have kids and live a very unhappy lie their entire lives because they are afraid to be disowned by their family and friends... It wouldn't be the first time...

Maire; introduce him to satch and the world of guitars.i'm sure joes music can bring his life back to some level of happiness. :) just an idea.
how many times have you people sucessfully converted someone to a satch fan or anything, i feel good wen i do. like my bassist in my band, i told him about the amazing stu hamm and now he's a stu fan and likes satch music, before he liked nirvana and greenday and all that, and i think his music likings changed, i hate it wen people wouldn't try anything new, like u try intro them to satch or somthing and they'll go like, i'm happy as it is thanks and reject it without trying, i mean.. back then i would reject doing guitar or somthing and now i'm obsessed... my little quote/motto is somthing like, try it before u regret it later on. i seriously regret not starting guitar wen i was a kid....
but yet again, you have to reject some things without trying and those are bad things like drugs and shit.. kids seriously, don't do drugs they bad. i never took them and never will.
but i hate it wen i intro them to satch and they love it and they start dissing u etc saying i can play satch better u etc , you know, just trying to make u angry and jealous, and thats the point were i go, i wish he never heard of satch...

I got one of my friends kind of into Satch's music...I don't think he's into it enough to buy any albums...but thats his loss lol.
Tomorrow, I'm going to practice my ass off and hopefully I'll have a "fuller" version of that track I have on my soundclick profile
Anyway...for those who care, Bruins are still losing...but Samsonov scored so Canadiens only have a 1 goal lead...
