A up people, laid of work for a while, its been up & down the last 2 weeks, three days work then a day off etc, back again in 2 months, pfff, adios new amp, thats the bad news, good news is,i have health,a great woman,a flat & i got time t finish my album plus have more time here t check out at last sound clips of t2j etc.Cant complain & looking forward t hearing & posting t more of y soon.laters peeps

Michelle:Ah the scots banter, lol, the celts drink like fish as y know, and one 2 many usually yealds such one liners & yip, theres always some sober boring nonsense around t remember it,curiously now with their little phone cameras, for the entire village t hear & if they now wish t SEE 2! E.G."Jean....r y there.I,ve just spotted slan locked in a 69 in the park,WHAT...thats right the marchbank boy with that wee tart up the road whits her name,al git right back tae y"Man & thats without technology!Oh what fun lifes they have..excuse my sarcasm, lol.Needless t say i dont stay in a village anymore,if something happens for a brick wall t watch, theres a hotwire runs t every corner in around 30seconds!Yip walls do have eyes, quite unbelievable. If infra-red web-cams come out & it might,LMAO,y can imagine! I must add i,m not disin where i grew up,i,m just saying i cant live in that kind of environment, they limit the dreams, tis a pity really, some really talented people there

Anyway laters M

Mickey Vai:Yo ol bro, if y read the top post thats why i,m back here again, lol.T be honest i,m a contented cat with the work ethos if y will & it gives me time t finish this album.I,m looking at 2 months now for things t be ship shape so t speak. The prob is its going t be difficult t market because each track is so different,i was told 15 years ago i had a choice t play music that they could market or follow your dream, well, lol, here i am,no prize for guessing which road i took,i see the tracks not like,i learnt classical or whatever for that purpose, its just thats where the music has taken me,probably because of the switching between sessions, not one style came to total fruition, but man i bust my balls t do it the best i could,i just hope after these 25years playing i can represent each one,or better still,my own.

On the death ship thing, well,y know i was thinking Stealth/Black project craft,i smile on yer past post on the Beechcraft & y had experience of eg F15 engines, thats so cool,I just dont want Mickey boy ending up silenced,k,thats what Widowmakers highway is all about,Area 51,personel not being allowed t speak t NORMAL doctors what they work with & yes many died working in A51,or the like..............Have a drink on me with the lads when y find time & power t y all.

Safe home

Austin, I'll play NIB for my son and see if he likes it. He doesn't know any song all the way through yet. He's only been playing a few weeks. His teacher asked him what song he wants to learn, so I'm trying to give him ideas for that.

Bil, do you have a camera phone story you'd like to share with the rest of the class? lmao!!

Eva, cool friends and cool birthday presents! Here, the special birthdays are usually 16, 18, 21 then every 10, like 30, 40, 50... So how's it feel to be the big THREE-OHH? lol!

Mick, the sitar was cool, but I'm talking about the BIG accordian solo! lmao! I was also diggin' the Iron Butterfly solo. Way cool! lmao! You know, one thing bothers me...the fact that you and your brother have actually given thought to dressing like The Sound Of Music kids. Scary!! lol!

Clarky, sorry bro, I have to protect the newbie girls who don't yet know your track record ;-) I do believe your son set you up for that little stankfest. Funny little buggers, aren't they. LOL!

Tastey, glad we can make you laugh. There are some truely funny people here at T2J. Ya gotta love it!!

Joeman, did you get the cd today?

UF Dean, thanks for the compliment :)

little bird, this site is like one big family. Stick around and lets get to know each other. Joe also reads the messages here, along with the rest of the world. lol! I think most of us confessed our love for Joe and his music in our first post too. You did it very nicely :)

tune, so sorry to hear about your friend.

Eva, blechkkk!! I never ate rabbit, and I don't think I ever will. I have cute little bunnies in my back yard. I would never think of putting them in a pot. lol! It would be like eating my cat! lol! I meant the Easter bunny, like the one who sits in the shops and takes pictures with the children. The big one in the goofy bunny suit. Do they do that in Sweden? How bout I just eat the carrots and drink the wine, and then go kick the crap out of the bunny at the shopping center? lol!

Mr Nick, no thanks on the rabbit killing tips.

Kell, thanks. Felling better today, but not 100% yet.

Finally went through 8 pages. Settle down people! lol!

I received "Is There Love In Space" about 2 days ago in the mail and I have to say that it was entirely more than I expected. In my opinion this is the BEST studio album Joe has ever done. The best thing about this album to me is that it sounds so relaxed in the sense that you can almost feel Joe just "letting go" and doing what comes naturally. The last album, "Strange Beautiful Music" didn't sound this relaxed although this album does have the same type of sound in the sense of the "strangeness" and the beauty of the music. "If I Could Fly" is becoming one of my favorite tracks as well as "Searching". Whatever that effect was that Joe used on "Searching" to make his guitar have a very extreme warble effect is WICKED! And the Dunlop 535Q CryBaby Wah work gets better every time I hear it. That deep sounding wah just suits Joe. The two vocal tracks, "Lifestyle" and "I Like the Rain" are the best vocal songs I've heard Joe do. And they're also the best written. I also liked the fact that I got it a few days before the release date (unless they changed the release date and I didn't know anything about it). I think it's because I ordered it through Sonymusicstore.com and got it autographed. Once again, this album is a must have and If you can, get the April issue of Guitar Player magazine to go along with the album. It has an interview with Joe explaining what gear he used and the inspiration behind each song. One question though, Joe's son, ZZ, plays a "bowed" bass on "Bamboo". What is that supposed to sound like? All I'm hearing is a regular bass guitar. I kind of expected it to be a sort of Cello sound to it. Anyway, hands down, I give "Is There Love In Space" 5 stars out of 5. Perfect!!! Joe, thanx for the inspiration and keep on Rockin' in the Free World!

Peace, music, and love,

(¯`·._.·§wo®d·._.·´¯)

Masterpick awesome e-mail

Michelle no not today but I went to customer service and sent them a nice inquiry on if my order was still to be shipped or if had been received and they said that they were very busy on things like those and thanks for my patience and that they shipped around today so I'm hoping to receive it soon. They were very understanding.

IceZer maybe you have a normal virus or you may have someone else using your computer from an outside source(sounds weird but it really happens!)

Janice you've got some probs there, no doubt.... it's mainly because internet explorer is an "easy lay" (as it were) to the hackers & spammers & the rest of them.... unless you set your security level as really high (which means you can barely open any site at all) you're vulnerable to all kinds of nonsense.... sad but true.... if you've run AdAware and PestPatrol and are still having problems then if I were in your shoes I'd reinstall windows... it doesn't take long and all of your faves / documents / etc won't be affected if you plan ahead ;-) Good luck matey! Shout or email if you need help, I'm pretty sure people here have done it a million times so you're sure to have some experience to guide you!

Dude, I agree that the Metallica fan club should charge their fans for sending them regular shit, but you are eligible to enter the backstage pass giveaways only by being a member of the club (and paying them $45). Now, how silly is this??? Backstage passes should not be sold for any purpose by the artists themselves.

btw, I just recieved my backstage passes to hell. Fuckin' right!

How does Joe Satriani feel about working with Marty Friedman, former lead guitarist of Megadeth, for the next G3 tour? I would love to see you and Vai do something with him. I heard that Marty was interested in doing the g3 tour. Thanks. Hopefully, joe will read this or someone that has connections with joe will and they can make this happen.

Geez........must be a year and a half since i posted. So much goin on........ Just wanted to say that "is there love in space" is excellent ! Got my copy in HMV Dublin today and have listened to it 3 times and it keeps getting better. G3 DVD is cool too, Joe's set is really great and reminded me very much of the SBM tour. Although, is it just me or does anybody else think Malmsteen is a complete twat ? Who breaks guitars these days ? Anybody know when a region 2 version will be available ?

michelle I know you meant the Easter bunny, but wouldn't it be *fun* to put him in a pot and cook away? lol In Sweden it's all about chickens, the little cute yellow and furry ones, with the occasional supervising hen with an apron and a scarf around her head. Easter bunny is not really big here. Something funny happened the other day when I was making a note for my neighbours, letting them know I was having a party so they wouldn't call the police at 2am. I was looking for a few easter pics to put in there and made a search for 'easter' in Microsoft Clip Gallery (you know, the one that comes with MS Word), and suddenly, among the pictures of rabbits and eggs and flowers, Jesus appears, all bloody and nailed to a cross with a crown of thorns around his head. Now that's what I call a party picture... lol! 'Yeah sure, come on in neighbours, we're gonna have a small crucifixion party here tonight... don't be late!' LOL!

But anyway, we had a nice party. And the neighbours didn't complain. ;-) Being 30 is not such a big deal to me, but maybe it's because I look younger than my age. I still have to show ID sometimes at the licquor store (you must be 20 for that). lol!

HELLOOOO!!!

I finally got a few minutes to come here and say HI to everyone! :)

I've been studying biostatistics... I've got an exam on Wednesday... it sucks... and it's scary to study from a book that has so many pages you can hardly grab it with one hand... :( I JUST WANT TO BE A MARINE BIOLOGIST!!!!! (ok, I know I'll need statistics a lot... but it still sucks...)

I have two new tunes I did with my Ibanez Talman acoustic-electric (though 80% improvised...)... but IUMA is not accepting uploads... I'm really impressed on how it sounds for the money it costs! :)

Keep jamming everyone!!! I will never forget this place, I'm just not having access to the internet very often... :p

Got the new CD Saturday and it is just smoking. Local CD place usually puts them on the shelf as soon as they arrive and does not usually bother with the whole release date thing. Probally helps them to compete with the Wal-Marts and Best-Buys.

OCPS, try to get your hands on the carl verheyen instructional. He does a much better job explaining and demonstrating than I ever could. Essentially, playing "lines" help a player escape from the traditional "box" patterns we seem to become accustomed to. Rather than developing riffs based around ascending or descending four fret "boxes", typically index, ring and pinky, Carl goes for "lines" that incorporate radical positioning shifts up and down the neck and strings trying to avoid as much as possible pedal notes and repeat notes in the run. He is a master and incorporates all kindsa string skipping etc to his run/lines. The early part of his video discusses and demonstrates the vast difference between "box" patterns and lines.

Kell, maybe you could add something to this since I know you have seen the video too!!

I am not typically a fan of instructional vids but this one is exceptional primarily coz Carl is such an articulate teacher. The video is called "Intervallic Rock"

RE: Carl Verheyen - Yeah ... he shows all these crazy linear and angular examples as well as some different ways to approach your lines. He's great at string skipping and setting up phrases. His fretboard vocabulary is insane. Very fluid and smooth. It's a bit frustrating to watch at first, because he's making it look way too simple. He is a very efficient palyer, getting the most from the least physical effort.

I'm probably not giving a good example either, because it's been a really long time since I viewed the vids.

OCP: Check them out if you can.
