I made one of the most Morbid mixes of all time. I found a sound clip from the black box of a plane that crashed several years ago....the pilots are saying " We're going down Larry, we're going down....I KNOW!..... BOOM!" Then it fades into Lights of Heaven intro. Sadly I must say, it fits in perfect. If anyone wants to hear it, let me know.

Best song from ITLIS is Bamboo. And whats a Bowed bass?

Sammy Andrews - "even tho I believe in God and the bible...that because I do not live as God says I should, that I cannot call myself a christian, even tho I believe in God...."

May I ask why you don't live as God says you should? Is it a personal choice, or maybe a struggle that you're going through to try to live as God says you should...? Or is it something else completely? If the question is too personal, you don't have to answer it...but I thought I'd ask anyway.

quito - "I wonder how cool would it be if we had a webpage where the T2Jers could upload their pictures, so that we could see each other"

That'd be cool. What does everyone else think? I can host the page, too...I can also incorporate the list of everyone's music links that I started a while ago.

Ethn Hayabusa - "everything you said is worded well"

Hehehe...you must really hate the album if that's the nicest thing you could come up with. ;-) What are some of the other things (that I didn't mention) that you don't like about the album?

Darxmac - Go see G3. Even if you're just there for Joe's set and the jam, it'll be money well spent.
jelly man - Thanks for your comments about my review... I don't have much to add, though...it seems like we both like the same things about the album. That's pretty cool, actually. ;-)
TomSr - Thanks... Are there any specific things that you wanted to comment on?
jazzy boy - Bowed bass is bass played with a bow. ;-)

The pain in my wrist is dying down with the help of some "deep heat" muscle relaxent...although it does the job...it stinks to high heaven lol.

Anywayz I've picked up my guitar once tonight and just so I had a witness to me being able to do that solo I played it to a guy I go to college with but don't hang around with, cos otherwise the guy that was doubting me wont believe my witness if they hung around with me.

Anyway guys the guitar is down, the hand is resting and I am finding it damn hard to type with one hand.

The Prez, I did your 'Quiz' LOL........but it wasn't really a Quiz was it? You know...like.......WHEN is Joe's Birthday ---WHEN did he shave off his hair...........WHEN was ZZ born. Sorry to be picky, it's a brilliant thought none the less. Which Album contains Midnight ( the original one ).......and so on.

I love you Joeeeeeeeeee..................... i tell you what makes me a Joe fan, on Sunday night I was looking forward to Monday at work, beause it was one day nearer to the concert at RAH. Yippee........& now it is Tues night...............

Brother Al I happened to my hand lol, played for like 30+ hours in stints of 14 hrs, 12hrs and 10 hrs so my wrist was all buggered up and the muscles all "knotted" and such. Plus apparently I used some muscles ive never used before and i kind of over worked them.

Delfino, for how long do you stretch? I'd like to share with you and all guitar players here at T2J some advice that I have learned from various people over the years.

If you play for more than an hour at a time, you should take breaks to stretch your fingers. (And stretch before playing, of course.) I usually take 5-10 minutes to rest, stretch, and think. Be sure to stretch carefully and slowly. I usually use the thumb and index finger of one hand to gently massage the fingers of the other. Fingers are delicate tools and are dangerous to abuse. I also gently stretch my wrists and arms, bending them this way and that, to relax them. It is also a good idea to sit with good posture - this is often hard to do on a stool - and to stand up once and a while if you don't practice standing up. Aerobic/cardiovascular exercise is also good as it increases your body's ability to pump blood and deliver it to your muscles.

Yngwie Malmsteen has had tendonitis, and I would venture to guess that not stretching often enough and practicing for long periods of time were some of the causes. With that I should say that I think practicing for long periods of time is not a good idea, for a few reasons. One is the strain of the fingers and wrists, and general discomfort in the rest of the body, both short-term and long-term. Another is that, as my guitar instructor once told me, one may burn out mentally after playing for a certain duration without respite, negatively impacting one's physical and mental coordination. I used to practice in long sessions, and I often grew fatigued and frustrated - a feeling similar to writer's block.

I also heard there is also something beneficial about eating bananas specifically that I can't recall... increasing lubrication or something... but whether it be bananas or other fruits, eating healthy is a good idea for life in general. Impress your friends by ordering exotic salads at restaurants.

Thank you for reading and I hope this has helped. :)

Austin read your review, agree most of the time except that I think Up in Flames is a cool song, it has good melodie and the solo is pretty cool, I like it. I also think that Hands In the Air is a cool song, when Joe playes in drop D or on a Seven String he plays with style, unlike most bands today who just do the same heavy rythm sound, its gay. what is up with Tumble and Dog With Crown and Earring??? are those on a speacil release? cause they arent on my cd. just wondering, but yeah, great review.

YoungestGuitarist: I am 16 right now too!!! I have been playing guitar since I was in 2nd grade, I was 7 then. Not trying to brag or anything, but I am f'n crazy on guitar, I have actually had other kids bow down and tell me they aren't worthy!?!?! I used to be a moron by listening to actual crap, I don't want to say it, punk music. What a moron I was, wasted 1 year on that crap!!!! But then, I was saved, I started hanging out with some older kids who new good music, I knew good music, but was into punk that year, and I heard Joe Satriani, once I bought 1 cd of his, I totally changed, after I heard the 1 cd I went out and bought most of his. Listening to his stuff and seeing him totally changed how I play. After relizing punk was a waste, I got into really good stuff, Hendrix, Vai, Satiani, and some other guys. Satriani changed my whole way of playing and taught me a whole new way of playing guitar. Good thing I left the punk scene, I hate telling people I am really really good, but they hear me and they are very amazed. How bout you?

Ethn: I definitely didn't mean to say that Dave Weiner sucks. He definitely busts his ass and covers lots of parts and instruments for vai. It just seemed like his overal ability was solid, but not amazing that's all. But he seems to be a good guy and a capable player though.

Zenfish: I got ya now.... Thank's for explaining the point about the Steve/Andy vs. Yngwie/Chris realtion style, lol I see what your saying.... One thing I might add is that Andy's tone is awesome, and I love his use of harmonic's!!.... He's an incredible song writer and boy does he get heavy!!!!.... You'll like what you hear!! ;-)

962: Right Click on the video link (Joe & Andy) and save as.... Whella!! ;-) And man, Venus Isle really is amazing, such a masterpiece filled to the brim and it put's me in a dreamlike state, lol!!.... Really amazing composition's that he writes, and oh yeah..Eric Johnson & Andy Timmons for G3!! ;-)

Greyfox88: As Steve says: In numerology, the number 7 is shrouded in mystique.... The fourth paragraph down here explains his fascination with the #7....

Zachary: Hope all is well man, stay kuul and how's the Trembolt doing!!.... Good Luck bro.... :-)

....Later peeps, off to work....

BTW, Zachary: Hey bro, look at this quote from Steve about the 7 string (It's from the article I posted above): Whether Vai's muse was mystical pragmatic, it's no stretch of the imaginationto say that he was responsible for putting the 7-string guitar on the map - at least in the rock realm. "I wasn't the first guy," he demures. "in the Jazz world, there was George Van Eps and Lenny Breau, and Uli John Roth had a seven string before me. But i didn't know about their guitars when i got the idea for mine.....

OCPS-Hehe, no worries man, I was just pointing out that Dave's big job in the band is not playing guitar, that's just one of the smaller things he does.

Zachary-Hey man.I'm doing ok, just working on the band with Graham mostly, it's coming along well. How have you been?
Austin-I didn't really mean it THAT way...I would not say I hate the album, I like it basically, I just have many reservations.

I don't think Joe did a bad job or anything, I just think he went a different way.For instance, the 2 tracks I dig most are the Title track, and Gnaaa, except the solo. Those 2 songs are amazing, and if there was more of that vibe on the album, it would be one of his finest records. But for me, there are way too many songs that are not me.I don't really like any of the songs aside from those 2 really, the rest are just ok.I love the solos.

I guess Ill be more thorough in my review.I've been trying to keep my mouth shut out of respect for Joe, but basically, here is my preference:

1.ITLIS? 2.Gnaaa 3.Searching 4.If I could fly 5.Bamboo 6.Just Look Up 7.Up in Flames 8.I like the Rain 9.-Hands in the Air 10&11.-Souls of Distortion and Lifestyle I loath equally.

Ill go song by song in my next post.
