zenfish you should dig up some old yardbirds records.. to see beck innovating the shiz..hendrix was just a flashy guy that could not tune a guitar..but hey just because i think hendrix is a bit overhyped and under talented does not mean anything... take it easy .. have a great day.
happy MOM's day to all the MOM's and M.F 's here on T2J..

Do the Stu - Palindrome? I don't believe in practicing voodoo though... ;-), lol... sorry, I'm not a fan of grammar or any big words that describes a set of words.

Michelle - thanks... Happy Mutha's Day to you by the way!

Zenfish - ya... the back of bowl of my heart has a crack in it, lol. Ah, it really sucks though cause I bought the guitar in Toronto, which is about a 13 hour drive from here.

Trutina - I know man! Something fishy is going on with the music stores in Canada... argg, no love for da canuck peeps.

Ovation - thanks bro, it was a brand new guitar so it'd be nice to get it replaced. I'll let you know how things go with it...

and lol, you'll be the magician of Okinawa with the racecar bit, haha!

Mick 87...good luck on your quest for redemption.....if you have a warranty on them it should not be an issue. I've gone through three or four Wah's in my life...they just are'nt made tough enough...Dunlop that is. Oh wait...I'm using a Vox wah right now and it's lasted me at least 5 years....and it's just now starting to give me grief.

ravenkenshi.......since you are just starting out I would'nt get too elaborate as far as your gear selection. My first guitar was a Hondo Strat copy...('cause I wanted to be Jimi)....lol....and I learned most of the neccesary things on that guitar. Besides...if you decide you don't like it, you won't be out too much "greenage"

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms in here ;) I'm sure my mom does'nt even know this website exists...but hey....."I love you mom" !!!! Have a very special day.....Love, your son Dave !

Joe: I just got the G3 live in Denver DVD it is great. Yngwie Malmsteem may not be able to play melodies but he is still a great soloist and I reckon you should record a song with him, it would be great.

Another long break from T2J, but I'm back again! Like anybody cares... lol

My band went recording at the beginning of May - we got a five track EP recorded, but it's yet to be mastered. Everything turned out pretty good with the exception of one of my guitar sound on one or two of the tracks. Other than, money well spent I'd say. The studio and it's staff was so nice; I took a particular shine to the recreational facilities. I want a quad bike and a field for Christmas this year!!! lmao

We also played our best gig yet on Thursday night. It was our longest set - one hour - and we were totally fucked by the end of it. We got an encore, but unfortuantely the only other song we knew was a pretty ropey cover of the Inspector Gadget them tune. There was about four rows of people head banging right in front of the stage, and behind that was a serious mosh pit; Clarky would be proud! lol. There was also a streaker, which was interesting... :-/

I started my teaching job at the school, and I really enjoy it!! I have about 20 students at the school, which makes a nice little earner on top of my eight private students. Roughly £200 each week for just about a day and a half's work, which can't be bad at all really...

Anyways, I'm back in Guildford now - my summer term starts at nine o'clock tomorrow morning. This term's units are Practical Musicianship, which is meant to be really cool, and Research Methods, which by all accounts is utterly gay but it's a compulsory unit. C'est la vie. I should also be getting my results for last term quite soon, and although none of you are really interested I'll probably let you know how I got on anyway!

JS Song Tournament

Click here and vote in Round 6. :-)

962 - Joe has played with Jeff Beck before? You mentioned it being with Steve as well... Are you thinking of that gig with Brian May from Queen, when they all played Liberty? I didn't know Jeff was a part of that...

I saw "that girl" (hehe) on Friday, which was the first time I've seen her since I posted about it a few weeks ago. It sucks, but it's fine with me (if that makes any sense).

JS JS - LOL...why were you up so late last night?
udi9 - The Guitar Geek site isn't completely accurate, but it's a good place to start. IIRC, the site also contains links to places where you can buy the pedals and amps and stuff listed on the page. You obviously can't buy the original new anymore, so they probably have it listed as the reissue so they can include a link to it.
mikesb - Revelation (Mother Earth) - Ozzy Osbourne
jofdm - Hmmm...a three-word name? Kenny Wayne Shepherd? He did a G3 tour or two with Joe.
alexandrecaetano - Some of the rules on that site are confusing and boring...haha. You can skip through the ones that talk about the uniforms players are allowed to wear, and stuff like that. ;-)

If that site is still too confusing, let me know and I'll just sum up all of baseball's rules in a few paragraphs for you.

HazelNuts - You might be able to get a photo pass by going through Joe's management (BGMSF).

...Austin...

Maybe someone else have said this already, maybe some of you hate my thoughts but i will give them anyway :)

The linup for G3 2005 should be Joe Satriani, Steve vai and Kirk Hammet.

If you have seen kirk hammet you know that his energy and charisma is perfect for G3.. im so tired of people saying this and that about Kirk's technical level, playing guitar is not about that and you all know it !!!!!!

Oh dear oh dear. I've been battling with some pretty heavy criticism lately. I've been described as playing with "little or no emotion", having a "pretty bad" tone, being an "arrogant cunt", and I've been accused of stealing other people's music. Now the funny thing is, the person in question was a very big fan of mine at one point. Unfortunately, I lashed out to defend myself, when I probably should have just totally ignored him. And the whole thing's getting worse. Anybody got any advice?

Master Yoda People are entitled to their opinion you (obviously) if they used to be a fan ask them what of your stuff they liked, and what has changed their mind.

As far as tone and thinking your an arrogant cunt, forget about it man, they can say your tone sucks but thats probably their way of getting at you for something, and stealing things? Well if no one stole something then their would be a lot less people in the music industry, its like building on an influence...you cant criticise that. No one accused Kid Rock of "stealing" the riff to Metallica's "Sad But True" when he made "American Badass" its because it wasn't a big deal...it happens.

My opinion on your music is that I love it, I think its very innovative and emotional, as I have said before, straight after listening to your soundclick files. Theres nothing wrong with you or your music, you helped me out with my playing twice in fact, and for pretty major things so that proves your not an arrogant cunt.

Hope that helped some.

Delfino
