Name that tune ~
Singing in the sunshine, laughing in the rain
Hitting on the moonshine, rocking in the grain
Ain't no time to pack my bag, my foots outside the door
Got a date, I can't be late, for the high hopes hailla ball.

Michelle's tune, continued:
Sitting round, singing songs
Till the night turns into day
Used to sing about mountains
But the mountains washed away
Now I'm singing all my songs
To the girl that won my heart
She is only three years old
And it's a real fine way to start

Think water.....
civgeek, that song was off Aerosmith new cd HONKIN' ON BOBO. It's called You Gotta Move - originally done by
Rev. G. Davis / Mississippi Fred McDowell
Frenchy, "The Littlest Hobo" - ha! You lost me on that one.

Never been big on the Aerosmith. More of a left coast guy.
Here's a hometown one:
Move to the music, shout and sing-a-ling
You got to groove with the rhythm, girl,
get slick and shake that thing
Shake that thing
Let it be for real
If you got the power,
that you all know what you gotta do
You can't lay dead,
just catch that groove
This may take a while.

Hey people! I was wondering... DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE tab for "Slick" from satrianis anthology, it's one of his best songs in my opinion... and another thing, does anyone have any tips on playing those hefty 16 legato hammer ons in the middle of the mystikal potato head groove thing!?!?

S4ATCH BOOGIE: You can check out the T2J CD Project Satchurated Feedback by clicking here.
Austin: That must be hella irritating for you, having to read those words lol. Tornadoes can be pretty nifty, but it's hard to really check them out where I live, in the city. When I lived in the country, you could watch them rolling about, dropping out of the sky like an owl after a field mouse. Cool stuff, from a distance lol.
Zenfish: lol, well, EVH can be aggressively whatever, you name the emotion and he can emulate it with aggression. Good words about Hendrix too. I like what Quito said about having had to live during Hendrix's time to really appreciate how different he was. I don't really listen to much of him, bit and pieces here and there, but I truly appreciate what he represents to a lot of musicians, guitarists or not.
Alexandre: Tornados in this area are just a part of life we have to deal with. When I lived in Florida, it was Hurricanes. People living in the north have the blizzards. The desert has sandstorms. The west coast has earthquakes. There's no escaping Mother Nature on this planet lol.
Delfino Pie: Three songs with a theme? I have a few ideas that I'll get around to sooner or later but try to think of it this way. Don't think of it as thematic music, think of it as a three act play without words. You could even base it on an existing piece, just interpret what you think is going on in the play with your guitar. The story doesn't have to be a sad tale, like Scenes From A Memory either, it can be a lot of things. I'd try a comedy, but it'd be hard to pull off convincingly. Watch a bunch of really good comedies. They have a rhythm of their own when it comes to the funny bits. Sometimes, they can have a staccato type timing, and other times they build on a seriousness up to a point of a huge punchline. Try to imagine what an instrumental guitar song written by The Monty Python would sound like. On practicing in the dark, cool, I'm glad you like the idea. Don't let it replace harder, more disciplined practice though. The outlandish stuff should only be a small part, say ten percent of what you do to learn.
Ovation: Funny you should mention it, the two huge oaks keep a japanese maple in the shade all the time. I wonder if he's pissed about it lol
death cube K: How about capital with italics lol
The Prez: I don't know on the Stones. In a lot of ways, I respect them for keeping at it, I mean they must like what they are doing, they certainly don't need the money at this point. Plus, is it essential for a band to evolve? Some bands sound great the way they are and I don't expect them to change. The Stones, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the list goes on and on.
cuthbert1776: Glad someone agrees with me on the ticket packages and glad you were safe in the weekend's tornado fest. It was pretty nasty up your way from what I heard, well it was nasty pretty well from Indy to Memphis TN and stretching back to St. Louis.
michelle: Yes, she is a smart cookie, but still silly enough to believe she can line me out lol.
Frency Du Rock: Great joke, very funny.
OCPS470: dck caught Joe in the chat last night, and yeah, I'm relieved too lol. I'll have to check to make sure there aren't any feet sticking out, but the Wicked Witch is still alive and well across the street from me lol.
danny k: That's cool, your brother is a musician too? I'm the odd one out in my family lol.
Quote of the day: "Live and let live, that's what I say. Anyone who can't understand that should be killed. It's a simple philosophy, but it's always worked well in our family." Carlin

The Forgotten (Part 2) for G3!
Ovation1, haha, yeah some people really like to exploit Starbuck's chill-out facilities to their full potential don't they?!
Good to hear your jem is having such a good influence on you. Mine is agrivating me at the moment......i think i've worn a flat spot on the knife edge, so it doesn't return quite to center, and it doesn't keep in tune too well. I need to replace the tail-piece, but to do that would cost me more money than I have :( nevermind........i'll get a job soon and then it'll be happy stories!
happy 2k bro!
Anyone been to the NEC motorshow yet? i'm goin this thursday....can't wait. Porsche's Carrera GT is there [drool]yum[/drool]
Climber, give it a coupe of months saving part of your wages and you ought to be able to part-exchange your XXX for a JSX!
Joe, have a good week of rehearsals!
Ree, also bare in mind that Marshall don't need a JS signature head......they hardly need the money. Slash is a bigger hitter than Joe, cause more people will know him or unkowingly see him/hear him cause of G n R, Snakepit and Velvet Revolver.
Brother Al/civgeek, er I don't believe reliability is too much of an issue with Mesa Boogie amps. they're pretty consistent, and more hardwearing than Marshall. I personally don't like the tone that much either.......Hughes & Kettner engineer better distortion, in my opinion, and make great rhythm amps. Boogies are good but overpriced, like PRS.
The Prez, i personally don't have the Jimi-bug. I don't like listening to him, but a lot of it is cause of recording quality. Eric Clapton is truly awesome.
2297, why is Clapton overrated? and what, of his, have you heard that you can base your opinion on, cuz the man is certainly varied

Trutina I getcha, and I've had an idea already about a comedic thing, your suggestion of making it a play type structure does make it so much easier so thanx lol.
What software do you use to make your drums with on your songs?
As far as ticket packages go, it is a good profit raising idea like cuthbert stated, if I had the money I think I'd be more obsessed with buying a 7-string and carrying on with my music rather than paying to meet Satch. I dont know why that is. I suppose its because entering a competition and winning the back stage passes and stuff would come as a suprise and would probably make it very special to me...although paying and meeting Satch would still kick a lot of ass...plus Satriani merchandise! I haven't seen any Satriani merchandise anywhere...there should be a "Store" section on the site selling shirts, jackets, hats, posters, cd's etc...that would definitly rock a great deal of ass

i agree with you saying that eric clapton was overated, he became a much better musician when his son died, and more renowned afterwards, it's sometimes sad that death can sometimes bring the best out of people. up till then he treated his music like a job, to make money, not to say he sold out, but he started to treat it more emotionally after his sons death before i did not find it as "goose-pimply"
on the amplifiers, theres two ways of going about it, if your not too high on effects then you should really go for an amp with a good distortion channel and a footswitch but if you're big on the fx, an amp with a nice clean channel like a fender, would bring out the best in the pedals and effects.
