Zenfish Dream Theater too metal? How can you be too metal? lol

IceZer I belive in the song MPHGT, your refering to the fast argeggio part. I don't think those are 'normal' sweeps. What I think he's doing is reaching his right hand behind his left and hamemring on and pulling them off in fast succesion. I suppose you could sweep it, but I suck at sweeping. This song is one of the only songs I really haven't played because of that one part.

sorry to hear that satch boogie....everybody is welcome here and I don't know of anything dangerous about this site...silly, just plain silly...

Do the Stu....it is my personal belief that 80% or more of all politicians are nothing but liars and crooks out for no one but themselves, very few there are, that really care about everybody else...... I hate elections, all of them...they no longer are about issues...they are about who can dig up the most shit on the other candidates...my guess is, those with the biggest shovels probably have more to hide than the ones they're trying to put down.....and what the hell does it matter if billy bob newcastle smoked a lil weed when he was a teen or if he screwed mary jane rottencrotch twenty years ago?....lol....politics are just something that I stay away from..

sammy andrews- i thought you might like this quote that i found a long time ago... its very sad, but i think over all in america it is true...

'the men the american people admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest the most violently are those who try to tell the truth.' -H. L. Mencken

Ok its been sometime since ive seen anyone post a "guess that song" thing so here is a chorus I want you all to have a guess at.

"Into the flood again, same ol' trip it was back then, so I made a big mistake, try to see it once my waaaaay"

Not alot of song I know but the chorus is very catchy, definitly the most memorable parrt.

good luck

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just picked myself up off the floor after having been blown away and floored by a truly majestic and virtuoso display of talent and musicianship.

The artist: Uli Jon Roth & the Sky Orchestra

The Performance: Metamorphosis of Vivaldi's Four Seasons

First Uli covers the four seasons (which he arranged and orchestrated) and then appends the piece with an eleven part suite called "Metamorhosis" which he composed, arranged and orchestrated. The whole project is wrapped in his own stunning artwork and was all recorded at a very cool looking new studio he has established in Wales.

I must listen a few more times before I can properly comment however suffice it to say I am staggered by the precision, clarity and tone of his "Sky" guitar throughout this work... Bravo Uli, well done!!!

More info here

And go here and pull up Uli Jon Roth on the left hand menu for a review that captures in great detail sentiments similar to my own on this staggering release "Metamorphosis"....

I'm 88 posts behind. Can't seem to catch up these days.

Today I'm off to watch my sister in the NPC Lehigh Valley Bodybuilding and Figure Championships. She's a bodybuilder. Her body fat is probably under 10% at the moment (I think I have the other 90% *groan*). Should make for an interesting/fun evening. Where's my whiskey?

Sammy Andrews: "it is my personal belief that 80% or more of all politicians are nothing but liars and crooks out for no one but themselves" I'm sorry, but it's much worse than that. Well, at least on a national level. Occasionally you'll find good people in local governments, but even in the smallest of towns, underhanded dealing are the norm. "Sure Bob, I'll second the vote for your resolution to have your cousin replace all the sidewalks in town if you'll vote for my annexation proposal, which will put my new subdivision development within the city limits, forcing the city to provide water and sewage instead of me paying for all that myself." It's sickening. On a national level, it's particularly frustrating because any bill that has some good to it, say more money for homeless shelters or something nice like that, also has a whole bunch of bullshit buried in it as well, to carry the vote of the other politicians. It might start out innocently enough, Senator A wants more money for homeless shelters in his state, say five million. Senator B is also from that state and will help him support it. Senator C will support it, if they throw in another $500,000 grant to his alma marta to study the various consistencies of snot. Senator D is on board, but requires a vote of support on his bill of limiting the amounts people can sue tobacco companies for, to keep his home state of Kentucky or North Caroline or wherever happy. Senator E will support all of these items in the bill as long as Senators A, B, C and D buy a couple seats each at his $10,000 a seat fund raiser dinner. Senator F will also support all items, providing a promise from all of them to support his block of stricter gun control legislature in the future. It goes on and on and on and it's extremely frustrating, but it's really no different from small town politics, just on a much bigger scale. I say it's time to scratch the whole system. We can appoint a King, and if we don't like what he's doing, we kill him. On pay-per-view tv.

Time to catch up. Super-skimmers - ON.

trutina We have a king. It doesn't work either. How about dictatorship? A nice, comfy, love-all-serve-all kind of dictatorship, where everyone gets s free lollipop for every bill they pass in ongress. Or a Big Mac.

dragonchild: I think it would be cool to be a storm chaser, but it wouldn't be easy in my area. In a flat plain like Oklahoma or even the terrain about an hour north of me, it would be ok, because you can see for miles. In my area, the terrain is to hilly and unpredictable and you wouldn't be able to see a tornado coming with much notice, so it's a little too dangerous. But it would be a blast as long as the car stayed on the ground lol. Oh, and on Fire Garden, it's hard to say. My favorite song would be Warm Regards but only because The Fire Garden Suite is, to me anyway, much more than just a song. It's quite possibly my favorite piece of music ever recorded. I'd love to hear more compositions like this from Vai and I'm really hoping that he makes Fire Strings and The Aching Hunger available to the public. Those will be very interesting. The thing about The Fire Garden Suite, is that it sounds like it could have been written for a symphony, and then Vai said, "Hell with them, I'm my own damn symphony!" lol. Also also (lol) I'm in favor of a dictatorship, as long as I'm in control and have the ability to kill anyone that suggests something stupid or in my eyes tries to get away with something. Then I'll be happy. The Big Macs are a good idea, but they take too long to kill them. Perhaps arsenic loaded lollipops? Yeah, that's a good idea lol

Delfino Pie: On the improvement you see when playing with the drum machine, I know exactly what you mean. One thing Vai says about practicing is something like, "Always, always, always practice to a metronome or drum machine." I agree for the most part. Say 95% of the time at least. Leave the other 5% to abstract hog wash stuff and let her rip lol.

marimairSRV: Thanks, the storms seem to have settled around here, but it was fun while it lasted lol.

Alexandre: lol, yeah mother nature will get ya anywhere. Also, I'm glad you liked the "Don't be afraid to suck" line. I thought it was the most relevant advice I'd ever given lol.

VFRrocker: Of course I know the dog is smarter than me lol, I just wish he could talk. Probably tell me exactly which stocks to buy, the quickest way anywhere and not to mention what Miranda says about me when I'm not around lol.

b18cb0y: I remember you, no worries there and yeah I know what you mean. Tornadoes can pop up at a moments notice, anywhere, anytime. They keep life interesting, that much is certain.

OK, well I cheated a bit on my skimming and just used the search to see where "trutina" popped up. If I search under "Bil" then I get all kinds of strange ones that include those letters like with the word ability or whatnot. Sorry if I missed anything.

Quote of the day: "If everything seems to be under control, you just aren't going fast enough." Andretti

Zenfish: I hear ya on the people that only play the Jazz standards, lol, alot of them are really lackluster and afraid to dive into the depths of fusion!!.... Also, so true on the hardrock pioneers!!.... They have tackled the Blues, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Flamenco, Funk, Rap and Techno genres with a fury!!!!.... For those about to ROCK.... We salute you!! ;-)

Do The Stu: Very good point Austin.... Good example there with Jimi, and yes, everyone, no matter what generation, needs to hear the legacy of Jimi Hendrix.... That is definately a plus side there....

What about someone like Shawn Lane? I didn't hear any of his music until after he died. I liked what I heard...but is it wrong for me to buy his music now that he's gone?
Definately no, but why wasnt he aggressively marketed before he died??.... Because of the uproar, do the record companies feel like the bait will catch the big one??.... Looks like a chance to capitalize to me....

mikesb: Thank's for the heads up on Uli Jon Roth & the Sky Orchestra!!.... Sounds like something I need to purchase!!

michelle: Uh-Rah!! to your sis, I know she's kick ass, and let us know how she does!!.... I know she's top class from her other competitions!!....

trutina: lol on that quote of the day, hehe (I'm hoping it wasnt Mario, cause he's ace, lol).... I remember when Michael switched to F-1 racing a few years back (he's now back on CART, right??).... He sucked, lol, and I think he just couldnt handle all those turns!!.... F-1 RULES IMO.... All around, it takes more skill.... Again, that's IMO....

Nite all..........
