JS_JS - I've been playing about 33 years (yes I'm old). I've played all kinds. Rock (classic , hair, progressive, commercial) , big band jazz , Latin (ala Santana) country flavored (Eagles, Garth Brooks) and traddition Portugese and Mexican. I'm probably best at the latin and rock. I have always enjoyed all types of music. One style I have no ability at is classical. Just never got the hang of it. Which 'God of Darkness' board is yours?

Ga6o - Listened to the cut. Sounds great. Sounds like a lot of woodshedding. What part of Mexico are you from ? My dad and I are planning to go to Oaxaca to do some volunteer work building floors in houses that have dirt floors still. Should be hard but rewarding work.

BRO AL - As usual I was checking out life on the Liffie ( looked like a spiff of a day) and thought I'd give you a shout out. Wassup!!!

cuthbert1776 - "It is good to know I am not the only person under 50 who understands how the government is supposed to work."

Yeah, that's good...it's the two of us and about five other Satriani fans against the rest of the country. We're screwed... ;-)

Seriously, though, thanks again for the original post... If I would've read the rest of T2J that night, I would have seen that someone else posted a few articles that said basically the same thing that I said. Oh well...

JS JS - "thanks man, I freaking suck at spelling. lol."

LOL...you're welcome. :-)

Phydeaux 3 - Cool... Are you able to figure out what some of her favorite songs are?

WARNING: THIS STORY WILL BREAK YOUR HEART!!!!! Or just make you laugh hysterically at my misfortune...

My parents have gone on holiday to Greece for a week, so rather than pay for long term parking at Gatwick Airport they've lent me my mum's car. They drove up to see me, I drove them to the airport and took the car back to my house in Guildford. So over the weekend I had a bit of a party back in my house in Hastings. I thought it would have beenrude not to, under the circumstances.

On the way home last night, I'd just joined the A3 from the M25 (so I was like 20 minutes away from my house) when I noticed steam/smoke coming from the engine and thought it would be a good idea to pull over in the nearest layby. I popped the bonnet to find a very hot engine with a water leak, but as I don't know much about cars I couldn't determine where the leak was actually coming from..

Now, since my mum only uses her car for work in Hastings she never really goes on any long drives, and is therefore not a member of the AA or the RAC or anything similar. So I had to pay £120 off the bat just to get the dude to come and check the car out.

It turns out the the radiator has a rotten pipe of some kind and needs replaced; this is the origin of the leak. I could pour more water in to the tank but it would fall out the bottom of the car within seconds. So I got towed home (which is an amusing experience... lol) and now I need to find a garage who will replace/repair the radiator, which, as I've heard, is not going to be cheap. There is of course also the possibility of further damage to the enginge caused by driving with little or no water...

And the icing on the cake is that this all needs to be done by Thursday so that I can go and pick my parents up from Gatwick again!!!

This is going to cost me hundreds of pounds, and I'm a poor student for God's sake! My parents had better pay me back. I could understand if I'd been driving a little OTT and blown a head gasket or something - then the onus would be on me to have it repaired - but a rotten radiator pipe can surely not be down to driver error. Which means I'm going to be shelling out money hand over fist to get my mum's dodgy car repaired. On top of the £50 odd that I'd spent on fuel. And the likelihood of it all being done by Thursday? Rocking horse shit comes to mind. My parents knew about the oerty idea too, so this isn't some kind of fucked up karma! lmao

But, I did experience a sudden bout of increased self confidence last night in the pub (also known as Dutch courage... lol) and I managed to score myself a date with a nice girlie!!! So, every cloud... lol

Good Morning my friends :-) !!! I don`t know if you like it, but yesterday Alicia Keys gave an amazing concert on last day of Rock In Rio. Sting was great too :-). If you wanna check out photos from all concerts check out this site: http://rockinrio-lisboa.sapo.pt (In English too).

DCK - Guns & Roses didn`t play @ Rock In Rio because the guitar player leaves the band a few months ago. Axl Rose told that the band was not on right conditions to play, nothing new. They are with lots of problems, begining on Axl`s mind. In times, G&R was a great band, now they are ghosts of themselfs :-/.

CLARKY - Glad that you had a great time watching your kids playing football :-). Good week !!!

ZENFISH - Thanks for your advice about Albert Collins. I Like very much SRV. One of the best blues player ever. Always on our minds :-) !!!! Salut mon ami :-) !!!

MARIMARISRV - Thanks dear friend :-). I`m very excited too :-) !!! Next July 3 probably i will be in Madrid :-). Very cool!!! I wish you a good trip and very good G3 in Sweden :-) !!! All the best for you :-) and Dragonchild :-) !!!!

CIVGEEK - hey friend. yeah, it´s not easy to find a good singer. There`s more guitar players than good singers :-/. Good luck searching for a good singer!!!! Cheers!!!!

Ga6o - Hello amigo, nice to see you!!! I can`t hear in University your cover, but i will hear that asap. Take care!!!

PHYDEAUX_3 - hello :-), what a great Satch fan do you have :-) !!! My friend, an advice, sometimes i`m photographer too. Becareful taking photos with flash, try don`t take many photos with flash, because the baby`s eyes are very sensible. Warm regards and have a good time :-).

MASTER YODA - in the past it happened to me too. I did pay 250 euros here in Portugal for the repair. Good luck man!!!

A GOOD DAY TO ALL, see you later friends!!!

Ga6o That was really cool...and freaky because I was listening to the song when I came on here. "Acid Rain" is one of those songs I can only dream of playing but one day I'll get their with practice (and an RG1527).

Master Yoda Wow man...that sucks about the car, but rocks about the girl.

i think today I will try to get the rest of "Summer Song" learnt.

MikeSB I had the pleasure of seing UJR perform 'Winter' and some of Metamorphosis last November. I've been a huge fan for a long time, 'Earthquake' era, icing on the cake for that gig ? Seeing him jam some Hendrix stuff with Frank Marino - also on the bill that night was Glenn Hughes, Jack Bruce. Uli was playing with Clive Bunker (ex- Tull) and Don Airey. Great night for the old bastards like me - lol

Tastey Congrats to your sister but yeah, I'd say a check up from the neck up was required -lol

Clarky Congrats on the proud Dad moments - indelibly etched in your memory.

Hi everyone else - gotta run, busy at work.

Neil, Alex... I can relate to your problems,

About 12 years ago Not with a radiator, but with a blown tire at 3:00am with a bunch of drunkin fools...

Please understand that I had just been dumped by this girl that I was seeing, She decided to go back to her ex and all... fine and dandy...

Me and my buddies decided to leave after 2nd last call at this awswome night club with tons of fish in the sea... and we started to make our way to my parents Passenger Van, when these 2 grubby guys came up to us with about 100 bucks on them saying they needed a ride desperately to get home... fine and dandy... I wasn't worried about being mugged or anything, not with the guys I was hangin out with then... so they promissed us the 100 bucks and a full tank of fuel for our troubles... and so the journey began... we had started to make our way to dropping them off in the next town and suddenly as I was merging onto the highway I blew a tire on black ice and proceded to fish tail and swerve into the embankment just off of the ramp... I smashed into a street sign and finally came to a fluffy stop in a snow bank down below... Well the 1st thing we had to figure out was how we were going to get out of 4 feet of snow with a blown tire... since there was only 5 of us... we sat for about 5 mins getting our barings.... And then suddenly to our amazement 15 guys all drunk as a skunk in the middle of the coldest day of the year, (about minus 40 degrees Celcius) showed up and offered to give us a push out of the rough stuff, we said yeah sure that'd be great...

So they started pushing us to the next ramp over since we were closer to the other one at this stage, so we were pushing pretty good with the help of me behind the wheel since (I was the only sober one there), and the crazy buggers nearly pushed me right in front of oncoming traffic... I immediately slammed on my breaks and one of the nice drunk guys slipped and burnt his head on the tail pipe that was pretty darn hot at this stage, he rolls his head in the snow and soothed it as best he could so he was sidelined now, but that was ok, pleanty of other guys to help out... hehe

Anyways, we finally got it out of that great big ditch without causing anymore incidents and proceded to wave someone down with a Cell phone to call a tow.. and then an arguement came about on how to change a flat tire, the question was if it was easier to loosen the lug nuts before you jacked the vehicle up, I agreed that it was easier to loosen it before you jacked it but the 2 clowns that we picked up disagreed, so that went on for about 15 minutes with no progress at all and then finally a tow truck showed up... me and my buddies called the guy over and talked to the guy about how to go about it, he said like what we said, loosen 1st then Jack it up after, well he gave us a hand with that, got the Donut out, put that on and then the guys that we picked up were nice enough to pay for that when the tow truck dude said he'd do it for nothing since it was so cold out and could tell we really needed to get home... but the drunks decided to pay him anyway, well then we finally got these guys home and low and behold this guy drove a fuel transport and was nice enough to fill us up for nothing..

This was cool... Before I was pretty much empty, I just got dumped and then a bunch of drunk dudes came along to help us out of a big jam... A very memorable story I'll tell ya... Let's just say my Bar days were over right then and there... But it was very entertaining to say the least... I gues you had to be there...lol

Peace Barrie

Long-Lost Greetings, SatchFriends~!

I've been absent nursing a stoooooopid cold virus, and some depression and other emotional traumas from work blehhhhhh :P

Zenfish ~ thanks for your words of encouragement *smiles* ~ I will have some stuffs to say to you re ITLIS vs SBM Just You Wait <grin>

Marimari ~ I just read your post yesterday, and I wrote a response but was too exhausted to post, so I’ll dig it up and send it tonight ~ ~ ~ (*friendly waves*)

When the news of Reagan’s death broke yesterday, I found myself in a time warp, seeing all that news footage from the eighties ~ a turbulent decade in my life, one I would not choose to “delete” even if it were possible, but would never choose to live over again ~

Austin’s favorite quote reminded me how powerless it felt to know our two countries had nuclear warheads pointed at each other ~ I still can’t quite decide if I think what he said was funny or not-so-funny ~ oh sure, we all know he was joking, and it would be unsportsmanlike to point out his “humorous” jab showed his unvarnished contempt for “The Evil Empire” and a cold indifference to the horrors of nuclear confrontation ~ “haha”

During the Clinton impeachment feeding frenzy I often tried to imagine how I would feel if this were happening to someone like Reagan or Bush the first, in a (mostly unsuccessful) attempt to keep myself from purely partisan prejudices

I’m sure the news would have saddened me a lot more if Reagan hadn’t suffered from Altzheimers, aka The Long Good-bye ~ the man we “knew” as president was lost to us many, many years ago ~ what we lost yesterday was the physical shell ~ may he Rest In Peace

So I’m back to work, and maybe back to posting, who knows?

...PeaceToAll…

[[,,,,,,,Hi, Joe,,,,,,,]]

My sister placed 2nd in the "35 and Over" catagory, and 3rd in the "Overall" in womens light weight. The ONLY reason she took 3rd was because the woman who won 1st was from the National circuit. This woman is working her way back down the bodybuilding ladder and wants to just do the "Fitness" competition, but, she figured since she was there, she might as well enter the Overall for muscle too. It was a guaranteed win for her, but she actually placed 2nd in the Fitness comp. because she was to muscular! My sis did very well and the judges were impressed and told her she should be ready for Nationals next year. Not bad for a 43 year old mother of 3, grandmother of 2 :) Markus Ruhl was the guest poser. I swear to you, his thigh was a foot thick!! ack! These people look fantastic in their element onstage, but seeing them in a crowd in street clothes is a little weird.

Alexandre, thanks for the Metallica review and a rundown of the whole show. Sounds like you had a fantastic time!

JBlaze, glad you made it home safe :)

S4TCH BOOGIE, Joe's site dangerous?? Hell, that's as fall down funny as Mark Anthony and J. Lo getting married on Saturday. LMAO!! sheesh!

Bil, I'll have to use that excuse about aliens one of these days, although I'd use a vacuum cleaner to beat them. That way I could still play my ukulele on weekends :)

Eva "trutina I used that Alien-excuse with one of my neighbors couple of years ago. She still hasn't forgiven me. And I think we should go for arsenic Big Macs. If we gave them arsenic lollipops it would become the latest fashion with the trendy people, know what I mean? Everybody would want one, to prove that they could take it. Now, with arsenic Big Macs, everyone would just blame the cholesterol and we'd be off the hook. Easy. " LMAO!!!! You're toooo funny girl!! And yes - we are SPECIAL! lol! Thanks :)

Stace, congrats to your sister! My 3 sisters did the same thing with the delay for #3 child. They had two kids close together, waited a while...got divorced... remarried...and had child number three. It's funny because I'm the youngest, and all my sisters had 2 kids before I ever had my first. When I got pregnant with my first, my oldest sis was pregnant 3 months later. My second oldest sis 6 months later, and my third sis a few months after that!! In my family we have the older kids, and the younger ones, and now they're having kids.

Phy3, beautiful baby!! Congrats!

Waves to Slan, Mari, Mick, little bird, Clarky, Mikesb, Austin, DCK, Delfino, Paul, and everyone else!

Civgeek, It's the same old, same old situation. It's the same old, same old song and dance! IT'S THE CRUE!! :) Good song!
