Do The Stu - "Why do guitar players join bands? Why is it essential to rehearse every week? Shouldn't guitarists just worry about playing music? Isn't it enough to just love music and practice it 24/7 in a room by yourself?

You're right, it's more about the life you lead than whether or not you spend an hour or two in a certain building every Sunday. That said, if you're a Christian you should probably want to go to church to learn more and to spend time with other Christians..."

I know from personal experience that I started playing guitar for me - not to get into a band and become a rock star but I do agree with what you said above...

WOULD THE BULLSHIT GOING ON BETWEEN JAZZY BOY AND DEATH CUBE K PLEASE STOP!!! IT IS GETTING REALLY BORING NOW. I DONT WANT TO HEAR STUFF LIKE LIKE "WELL HE SAID THIS" AND "HE SAID THAT". WHO GIVES A FUCK???? STOP ACTING LIKE LITTLE KIDS, GROW THE FUCK UP AND START REMEMBERING WHY YOU JOINED THIS SITE TO START WITH!!! (rant over)

Thanks and God Bless, and "have guitar will travel"-FARRRR!!!!

Artanis I: Ahaaaa!!!!.... Seems like you do not own the RUSH in Rio dvd!!.... Because if you did, then you would find out what Neil does with that kit!!.... He play's the whole kit man, and when you see his solo, you will bow down in front of the tv and say I am not worthy, I am not worthy, lol, seriously man, get that dvd!!!!.... During his solo (which btw, is about 10-15mins.), his whole kit spins around so he can play the other half.... The man is a genius, and when you see him play it, you understand why he has it that way.... You'll never see a solo like his.... btw, Circles is an awesome song, and it doesnt get played any better than Jonathan Mover played it, lol!! ;-)

Clarky: haha, lol man, so right on JS Clone 1.... I could see the transformation too, and I remember when he used to say that he didnt like girls and they were ewww, lol!!.... I think somewhere along the line he got a taste of one (probably due to his guitar talent shown in H.S. shows) and his life changed forever.... He discovered the meaning of life, lol!!....

btw, interesting thoughts on the Bible there.... One thing people forget is that all of the questions you may have in life (that go unanswered) are there in the Bible.... Like you said, truely a work of genius!!.... Oh, and yeah, I see Yoda missed the very obvious signs there, lol!!....

Powerslave214: Damn dude, I heard that stuff HURTS!!.... Get well soon man, and hope it stays away.... Eat right and take the Doc's advice man, and hope it all works out for ya!!....

opticalstudio: Amen bro, and glad that lightbulb is shining bright!!.... Keep it up man, your on your way!! Godspeed man :-)

marimariSRV for G3!! :-)

Yesterday I posted about The first annual "Millenium - technology prize" -> correction: they are going to hand it over only every other year... sorry, my bad (not that I actually give a shit, but I don't want to be a source of misinformation).

Today my friend (who is coming to G3-show with me and my brother and my brother-in-law) called me (by the phone) as a 'joke' and told me "Due to a sudden illness case the G3-Helsinki-show has been cancelled...". I was in a middle of a work meeting about a funeral of one world war II -veteran... it was pretty close there were two soldiers to bury...afterwards it's pretty close there's one jackass rocker to be buried.

...nooo, okay, it was really funny...for him!

This same friend of mine (guitarist/vocalist) saw Steve Vai with Frank Zappa back those days, when nobody here in Finland knew a thing about Steve. It was a really good gig with a few glimpses of Steves potential, which he immediately stated to me back then: "We'll hear from this guy for sure!". And yes, we sure did...

...and do, 'cause you know what?
~2 days till G3~

Song of the moment (when the sun comes out after a rainy day): "Child in the sun" by Nazareth.
...I have to say Dan McCafferty was one of the greatest rock vocalists, on this same album in "This flight tonight" his voice has this awesome distortion...and it comes from the soul...beautiful...speechless...

ah! cuthbert....i see.......well, theres a slight difference here, in the UK, everyone except the minorities can post what they wish...eg... no religion, personal values, etc....very repressive and us Brits are gettin a tad sick of it as u can see......as ive jus realised this is an American-based site then carry on, its jus a little annoying for me, this is because i have had so many bad things happen to me due to religion....anyway, its a free for all and every man is free to do what he/she wishes.....but one thing,...why do you Americans say "God Bless America" when really, you shold be blessing the whole world since no single land or country has any kind of priority or level of importance than another....i just see this as very self-centred and egotistical of yourselves as if it wasnt for the influence of countless of other countries, then you would not be in such a good state as you are as a country now.......Young Bernie

Mowlie - Do The Stu So to sum up, would that be to say that as long as the dedication is there, there doesn't need all the activities that are generally related to it to be present as well... say like:

Guitarist - gets into a band (generally related)

Christian - goes to church (generally related)

Because that is a statement I definitly agree with, but wasn't so sure if you were making it on the religious front as well.
(as you can tell I'm getting back into the religion conversation...proving to me a "thumping good read")

24 Fret Mayhem Back in the day when I was like...I dunno...12? I used to go to libraries...but not to read books, me and too friends wrestled on the top floor of a library and nearly broke a table...suprised to say we never got kicked out. So it seems "library law" has got a lot stricter...I suppose telling them to "F*ck off" would probably end in a banning and thats not good...especially if you want to attend "LibraryMania XI" the only wrestling federation with a taste for reading :-)
