Hi, Joe! How are you? Really need your help now! I have bought JS 1000! Nice guitar BTB, I like it. But it has one problem in my opinion. It's string buzzing. Have bought it in Italy (Bologna). They say it is normal nature of each guitar, string buzzing must be heard playing instrument without ampl. But I think can hear it even through amp in cleantone. I didn't ask Ibanez company yet, decided to ask you first. Being guitar expert, especially Ibanez, you should have a great expirience. What do you think about? Do you allow your guitars to sound this way? And do/can u adjust ur equipments urself or have a technic (I mean neck, bridge...)? Hope you'll answer! Thanx!

Danny pulleyn, yeah me, Master Yoda, Clarky, OllyNo1uk, ibanez_jem and jelly man are all going to B'mouth too. and I'm sure there's others!
The Forgotten (Part 2) and Speed of Light for G3!
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just read my e-mail. I got a message from Mikey at vai.com saying I won an aftershow pass for G3 London! cool.....that put a wry smile on my face. time to call my sister!
Stu Clone, thanks for the update. I found those arpeggios on a TAB site somewhere I think....they're not mine, I confess! I never tried TMPHGT cuz it's not my 'thing'. but i'll keep a note of those arpeggios - they'll be good as a technique lesson!
civgeek, a horse and buggy? haha, a buggy here is a pushchair. A horse pulls a 'cart' or a 'carriage'. A Dual Carriageway simply gets it's name from it being a route of 'dual carriage', rather than a route for two horses-and-carts at the same time.
michelle, the 'bonnet' is the hood. And hey, you guys invented the car bra! hehe.....I can see why tho - bugs make an awful mess when you're driving on the freeway!
for your info, if an englishperson asks you 'can I borrow a rubber?' they just want to borrow your eraser! there's nothing sick and twisted about it!
The pavement is the sidewalk. What you call the pavement, we call the road!
Ovation1, for the record, that's "prost"!
regards my Jem, it's now got to the stage of 'winging it'! It's really dodgy - i think the weather has slightly skewed the neck again as well....it needs sorting. but yeah, it's currently at the stage of being approximately in tune, and you can still get a cool tone out of it - it's just not the highly accurate piece of engineering it used to be; instead it's more like "are you lookin at my fretboard? i'm a f*ck*n Jem man! now back off!" hehehe
novjul, on Reel Satriani/The Red Album it was, i believe, Nathan East! yeah, that was one cool video, really interesting.

civgeek - Well, in poorly lit areas the roads have these things called 'Cats Eyes' down the middle, between the white lines. They don't light up per se, but they reflect the light of the car's headlights.

Zenfish:Hmmm, never heard of him.I take it that has no relevance with Zappas Bert Swaggart toon Its on“ The Best Band y Never Heard in Your Life” album, although the sentiments you posted come across similar, lol
On your other Question,I was born in Scotland where i lived for 23 years, moved to Dublin Ireland for 5 back t Scotland for 4 & i,ve been living in Barca for nearly 3 years now with my other half orange Tura & that as they say is that, lol
On another note,so t speak, thats some list y put me in with there,i,m flattered, these guys really know their stuff when it comes t Flamenco,i have t say i dont though, lol although i am now studying this amazing art in my spare time,i can fake it a bit but in comparison, any one of those cats could dust me in a sec,the flip side is people musicians “i call them people musicians because they see beyond notes” have a very healthy respect & an open mind for electric guitar players so i dont feel so erm.........useless,lol.I still get the occasional nightmare jazz/blues/ police wank coming t tell me i,m doing the wrong thing aka buy a BIG FAT guitar if y goin t play jazz *sigh* yet another one of the reasons why i prefer a normal day job now, having t listen t this consistent bull after gigs, 9/10 times from other guitarists with their circle of little police cadets but thanks t my girl/family/friends & the good people here at T2J i have a lot more faith in what i do.Yip,i,m climbing up that hill again my friend,my style, fuck em,i,ve had enough, onwards
Enough about me,what about yourself, whats your background Z?

Hi All:)
Just out of curiosity, has anyone here heard of the band "Saraya"?...
I used to have a tape with a song called "Love has taken it's toll".
It was very popular back in the late 80's.Does anyone know who the guitarist was?....

tetovo - Yeah, Reel Satriani is good. There are only a few different songs on the tape, but it's still cool. I love the alternate versions of LFG that are on there. Be warned, though, it's a little depressing to watch Joe write the song If in about 30 minutes... ;-)
DelfinoPie - There is no "set" time for soundchecks. Sometimes bands can do them as early as noon on the day of the show, and other times they may not do a soundcheck until an hour before the doors open...
civgeek - Ah...the wah search. I went to the Guitar Center in Sacramento a few weekends ago..."Yes, we have both [the Dunlop and the Morley]...but they're both out of stock."...
They're supposed to call me when they get either of them in so I can try 'em out... It's been a while, though, so maybe I should call them... I guess I'll wait another week or so before calling some other music stores in town...
Borak - You can do a Google search and you might be able to find a tab for SWTA. Or, you can go to Amazon and buy the tab book for the whole album...
Sky Ant - Yeah, I'll be seeing Dream Theater and Yes out here in LA...I'm just waiting for them to release the rest of the tour schedule. ;-)
962 - Congrats on the backstage pass!

Hey everyone, been a long time since i've posted regurlarly. Just been busy with music stuff etc.
I try and keep the self promotion to a minimum on here, but i have some new song samples as well as some video clips of me playing along to a couple tracks in the music section. I'd love to get your feedback on the stuff. Check it out and let me know what you think

MASTER YODA - Yeah, we have those too. It's different than what I was thinking. There are some roads in Norfolk and Milton Keynes that have these cool solar powered lights in place of the cat's eyes.

Do Tha Stu Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah lol. I don't mind about the sound checks and all that I was just wondering what time artists generally arrive at the venues.
But I guess by telling me they can do sound checks around noon gives me an insight to what time they might get there, so thanks :-).

962 Congrats on the backstage pass!
Tomorrow I'll be going the opening night of Harry Potter III. I've seen various kinds of reviews so it'll be interesting to see what it's like. I think it will be harder and harder to make movies of the books as they keep getting longer. You can only fit in so much in a movie if you want to keep it under five hours. Maybe they will divide one book into two movies, who knows.

Clarky,
Yes I remember the lydian dominant thing quite well. In fact, I still play it note for note (at least I think I've got it right)! I also applied it to a few blues progression other than just the bVI-V7 minor blues changes. Quite distinctive sound, that. I just love the melodic minor modes in general, not quite sure why...
Jon
P.S. When in the minor blues changes, I love to move from the lydian dominant on the bVI chord into a straight up octatonic over the V7 (preferably with b9/#9). Makes for a sick cadence if you do it right!
