Has anyone heard from trutina lately? I don't think he's made a post here in a while, and I don't think I've seen him on my buddy list recently, either...

Drums? Fun stuff... :-)

My dad was a drummer way back when he was in high school and college. One of his drumsets has been set up in my room for the past two years or so, because I'm only here at home a few months out of the year.

I only play / practice a few minutes every other day or so, so I can't play much more than House Full Of Bullets or Whispering A Prayer right now...haha. Oh well, though......I'm having fun.

krazy olie - If you win the aftershow pass contest, you'll receive two aftershow passes.
mowlie 2000 - Happy birthday... :-)
Chrome Boy87 - Yeah, Joe's Pearly was stolen a few years ago. Some people suck...
Ichwan - Yeah, Joe gave Steve guitar lessons way back when... ;-)
tetovo - "i think it sucks that i didn´t get a backstage pass, i deserve one!"

First, you don't "deserve" anything. No one here does. The aftershow passes are a gift.

How many shows have you been to that have had an aftershow pass contest? I think 5 of my 7 had the contest, and I've never won. MegaBoyd has been to more shows than anyone on T2J, but he hasn't won the aftershow pass contest here...

mischievous - Hi...it's nice to see you around here again. :-)
Ibanez89 - Once you have a ticket, add yourself to the attendance list for your show.

...Austin...

Tetova: would you like to be my guest? I have 2 passes.... email dragonchild if you are interested. Look for me at the show, I'm a tall blonde. I know that's very common here. I will have camera equipment with me.

Hello Everyone in Satchland!!!!!! I'm here in Sweden at dragonchild's house watching Bad Horsie from Live at Astoria DVD! Eva cooked a great dinner for us. We are looking at some of my photos too. I brought some to get signed-8x12´s. Eva called me last night and gave me the great news! I just saw the email notifying me that I had won passes for the Gothenburg show. I also asked permission from joe's manager to photograph the shows I will be attending. I got an email from his manager...Yes! I can photograph the shows here, maybe NY also! I will be sharing my photos with the website so you will be able to see them to! I am flying so high right now! It's my dream come true!! I can't believe it!!! I am bouncing off the walls! OMG! all I can say is OMG!! Thank you God! this crazy idea to come to Sweden was my destiny... I won aftershow passes from Vai for the Stockholm show so Eva will get to meet Joe and Steve too! I can't thank her enough for all her help, maybe this is a start. Take care! I miss you guys!

I'm really torn now on whether to buy a 7-string...I need some recommendations for a 6-string around £500...preferably Ibanez...

How is everyone?

Joe: I forgot a suggestion for a song in your setlist when you come over to Birmingham, England. "Up In The Sky"...great tune.

Does anyone if Vai has announced any plans of what he is going to play, or Fripp?

Delfino

Everyone take care

lol, brother al. You guys look more like a straight version of Village People than a GN'R lookalike! Its a good concept. However, the talkbox clips dont ever seem to work. Are there more pics?

In fact, tell your Axl rose to wear his shirt cause I send Ronan Keating your pictures. He immediately hung up and I heard him saying "Bollocks, where is my lube?"

to catch up...

I'd love to see Gary Moore and Satriani play together, but I couldn't imagine him in a G3 senario. Moore is more than capable of a beautiful instrumental - Has anyone heard "Once in a blue moon"? (it was a bonus track on the remaster of the after hours album) PS Advice for any prospective Gary Moore fans out there: Ignore the monsters of rock album & DVD - Moore is WAY better than that (in terms of vocals, tone, chops.......everything!) PPS If anyone is considering getting a Les Paul, the Gary Moore signature is as good as a '59 reissue and much sexier looking!

I couldn't believe it when a friend told me the last man on G3 tour (2003 G3 tour). I always dreamed about this feature when i was a child. The always cool Satch, with the extravagance and that million of incredible notes from Mr. Steve Vai and... that magic sounds from that so fast hands who could play from Paganini to Hendrix, with just that strat... like a wizard who makes fire just with his hands: Mr. Malmsteen. You know... child's dreams

Really I'm fan of you three. And so much people can say that Malmsteen is out. So much between that two great guitarrist as Satch and Vai. But I can tell them that I saw Malmsteen just one time, so short... and there was something around that man. It seems like magic !. It's good to play fast, to be the fastest-arpegio-man and so on... but I think there's something more on this man. His own-unique feeling, I think. Somepeople tell me I'm crazy when I talk about Yngwie's feeling, but I do. I think it can be sawed better with acoustic guitar. I could write a lot of you and Steve, but so many people does it, doesn't they? And I haven't heard anyword about the great choose for this G3, as great as previous.

I think it's one of the best concerts to see, anyone of the G3 tours it is. One of the best ideas I've ever seen. Really it's good for guitarrist. I couldn't explain how much I've learned since I saw that G3's jams and I tought: I wanna do something like that. Maybe that's what you thought when you saw Jimmie or Buddy Guy playing.

So glad because there's still great musicians playing the blues... from Lonnie Johnson, Art Tatum... and so many others that made a great music from just that three chords...

Hi Joe ! Hi Guys i'm Mert from Turkey .. i got a question about turkish guitarists ... i think you know Demir Demirkan don't you Joe i heard a little about him he took lessons from you ??? Also i wanna know the best guitarists for satriani in Turkey ... i think there are 2 real guitarists here in turkey ... First one is Serdar (i don't remember his surname :P) but he's playing with -- BULUTSUZLUK OZLEMI ... And the other one is Murat Net (PENTAGRAM) ... i like Sebnem Ferah's solo guitar (METIN TURKCAN) but he's not as cool as the other 2 :) .also i've started playing guitar 7 months ago .. i've started with classic ... so now it sounds hard to play electro .. The best solo i can play is Metallica - One and that's the only solo that i can play :pp but it took 2 months to do it :) how can i improve myself ... ??

C y'all soon ! Take Care .. hasta la vista ...

alblues have you seen the G3 03' dvd? its great. I was lucky enough to get to see the show in Seattle and let me tell you it was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. and I love Yngwie and his music, I dont care if he is a show off or whatever, his music is very cool. a lot of people say that he has been playing the same thing for twenty years but it is new to me so I think its great. anyway, check out the dvd if you havent already.

Getting stabbed in the head stories: okay here's one that isn't quite as gory, but when I was young I walked into the loungeroom of someone else's house, and a dart landed in my cheek. They had a dart board on the back of the door ... luckily it missed my eye.

Marky Boy: in Australia, it's "G day" every day!

Slanshroom: "...The first club is created in 1764..." so how many years did they play golf with their hands?!? (jk)

Eva: have fun at G3, weather has been nuts here lately. Raining like bits of shrapnel at the moment. Yep, winter is here.

The Bob: learning the drums was easy for me, but I don't know whether I had a natural advantage somehow or not. My suggestion is to try to tap along with some easy beats (maybe NOTE and Surfing albums might be suitable). I don't care whether you're left or right handed, use your left hand for the snare, right hand for the hi-hat and right foot for the bass drum. Watch some drummers to get a basic idea of what they're doing, and the best thing about drumming is that you don't need a kit with you to practice.

Ovation: did you just describe a drum pattern to play on a 4-PIECE KIT?!? Shame, shame, shame. The evil that is 4-piece kits should be eradicated, not encouraged. Yeah, I know it's personal taste ... and mine is 5-piece kits. I find it annoying when I play on someone else's kit and there's a tom "missing" and I have to adjust my playing accordingly.

Mari: hey, now you have a chance to prepare what you want to say to Joe! No more blabbering! Have fun!

Brother Al: I still can't get over how white you Irish are! When the International Rules football is on, the Irish team looks so white compared to the Aussies.

Done replying to people, now for my contribution:

Hi Joe!!!

Clarky: have you heard the new Slipknot album yet? I heard it yesterday. Very cool. Everything I like in heavy music. There's one song in particular with a very interesting transition ... my friend and I both cracked up laughing when we heard it.

Time for some more G3 DVD ... I'm getting the new one back tonight, so I'll watch that in its entirety (finally) tomorrow.

Joe, thanks for posting the rehearsal photos. Looks like there are a few new pedals in the stable. I can see a MXR Zakk Wylde OD, the Fulltone Deja Vibe, and a Keeley pedal (not sure if it's the compressor or the Java Boost). Can you run down your new pedals and what they add to the JSX tone palette for you? Thanks and best of luck on the road this summer!
