ZINC MASTER - That story about the judge is horrible!! lmao

N is for Norge. The top part of your ass crack that shows when you bend over.

MICHELLE - I had to go kill another stupid spider in my daughter's bathroom last night. She was freaked out of her mind Screamin that she" had to go potty but the pider was dewr" I get in there and the damn thing was the size a pin head. So then of courseI lost it and started yelling. "What the hell was that little thing going to do?" I don't get it. Not quite as funny as a dryer sheet but humorous in its own way.

2297 - Let me know how your sched is. I work Down By the River. Across the street from the Old Spgetti Factory by the new tram. Late.

OCPS470, yeah I'd agree with you, that the S is somewhere between JS and Jem. I like the width and depth of the JS neck, it's much more relaxing for me to play......a lot, of course, is down to technique, and hand size. I'm almost entirely self-taught, so much technique is not as good as it should be, and I have fairly small hands.

After making these initial comparisons, I went back to my GIO. It's a cheap-as-sh*t guitar, but the body is great. It's curved across the top, it's more comfortable than the Jem. All it really needs is a re-fret, and I'd like to put a wilkison-type trem on it. I'd perhaps put an Evo in the bridge then a Virtual Vintage or something in the neck single-coil position.

To start with, I found the JS pickups lacking in some character, but I quickly got accustomed to their tone and characteristics, and found them more consistent and predictable, hence easier to control.

Ovation1, hehe, yeah never forget the monkey-grip! A JS with a monkey-grip routed out of it. That would look well entertaining, but I doubt it'd be as strong! I think the wide spacing of the upper register on a 22-frett neck is itself enough to make the difference from a Legato guitar or a shred guitar.

In applying the things I noticed to my GIO, i've found that it would be quite good at both! It's spacious enough to keep a relaxed, open hand rather than tying your fingers in knots, but it's flat enough to sweep and string-skip easily. I could cut a monkey-grip in the GIO I suppose! hehe

Not very many people have listened to my latest musical offering! If you'd like to check it out, it's called Daybreak and you can get it here.

Clarky - Yeah, a one on one session would be cool. Let me know. Splitting the lead work in Requiem sounds like a great idea too! Have you checked out my new tune yet? It's very different to anything else I've ever done, but I really quite like it...

Hi JS Fans and especially Anibur

How many of you have tried the JS Listening Party,
I did so myself only yesterday.
Joe explains each track from his new album.
Recently, I had taken the liberty to print my own lyrics
to "Just Look Up".
Joe's explanation has inspired me to re-write part of my lyrics
Now they really are complete.

Joe, you really know how to move people.
My lyrics can never replace your beautiful melody.
But put together I think this is a killer track.
Enjoy !!

"JUST LOOK UP"
(inspired by the music of Joe Satriani)

All my life spent searching
For someone to love
All my life been searching
That someone's you

Now I've found that special someone
I'm never ever gonna leave your side

Just look up, you'll find me here right by your side
Just look up, you'll find me here by your side

And when my life is over
I will still be with you
Walking by your side
For eternity

When you need that special someone
Don't you worry, don't you cry

Just look up, you'll find me here right by your side
Just look up, you'll find me here by your side

Just look up, you'll find me here right by your side
Just look up, I will always be, by your side

If we begin to hear vocals . . .

There's a purity that's gained by music being completely instrumental, and I would just as soon put lyrics to most of Joe's music as I would to a Beethoven Symphony.

That said, if Joe was going to create an album with a real focus on vocals, I'm thinking he needs a female vocalist capable of dark, husky, and soaring range. Someone with the mystical quality of Clare Torry, the female vocal in the long and wordless vocal solo in Pink Floyd's "Great Gig In The Sky."

Joe's guitar is too precious to make anything but guitar-dominated music, but a great female vocalist might provide an interesting journey on an album or tour.

Guys, I'm starting off well learning 20 songs of Joe for some live music in south italy. I'm realizing how beeing a musician like Satch is very cool but hard at the same time not for going arond the world or organizing but because you will have to play the same songs and, for example, right now I'm feeling sick but excited at the same time for my next concert. Any ideas for not beeing sick? P.S. this is my repertory

1- Surfing With The Alien 2- Always With Me, Always With You 3- Satch Boogie 4- The Crush Of Love 5- Flying In A Blue Dream 6- The Extremist 7- Cryin' 8- Motorcycle Driver 9- Slow Down Blues 10- House Full Of Bullets 11- Crystal Planet 12- Love Thing 13- Lights Of Heaven 14- Secret Prayer 15- Time 16- Turkey Man 17- Oriental Melody 18- GNAAHH 19- Up In Flames 20- Is There Love In Space

So, what do you think?

962: lol man, haha, a monkey grip on a JS would look freaky eh?!?!.... I agree on the spacing of the 22 fretters, and although I've never tried a JS (never seen one in a shop here :-0), I think it's fine time I push these guitar stores to stock em', lol!!.... btw, on your GIO.... Hook it up bro, and add the monkey grip!!.... If it feels good for both, keep it man, you cant beat a guitar that is suited for shred AND legato, lol!!!!....

Master Yoda: Listening to it now.... First off.... I really like the pic (person holding the sunrise).... I like the arpeggio changes in the beginning, and I get a good vibe and feeling from the structure.... Nice phrasing, and I can imagine a great solo over the top!!.... I'm playing it now in my head as I write bro!!.... Very inspiring, and add to it man!!....

dragonchild: Congrats to your friend!!.... Good Luck!!....

Good to see ya back Ethn Hayabusa!! :-)
