Nick - I love Rush.. I didn't know Rush were playing... do you have any info on their tour?

Zen - so what is it that triggers creativity for you..
godguns - yes it was me talking about the EL34 100/100... I'd plug the 2120 straight in...
I've not messed with one myself yet [I will do though].. but from what I've heard from others.. this amp is the dogs bollox.. and it don't matter what you do.. guitar + pedals... guitar through rack... and even guitar straigh in... this amp is supposed to be awesome...

obviously I need to hear this for myself.. but I'm interested enough to check one out....

however, my next music related spend will be to do a 'left hand conversion' to Envy... then a nice left hand nylon string.. then I'll go look for a new head.. so I'm not exactly desperate to get one... but I am interested enough to earmark it come the time I need to replace my current head - which is more than adequate..

just out of interest... why God and why Guns... and what the fuck will you be hunting with an AK??? lol.. I thought that they are only good at killing people... and from around 500yds or less...

jazzy - playing the organ made my go blind...
Cuthbert - right now I keep flipping between the new Slipknot album and the Vivaldi guitar concerto in D... I just can't stop playing them...

Right I'm currently working on "smuggling" some herpetology equipment into my house with out my mom noticing...my dad probably could't care less since he bought me a toad about 6 years ago...I'm hopefully gonna' be getting either an Armadillo Lizard whom will be called "Satch", in another vivarium I will have a gecko called "Vai", roaming around the place I will have me a red-footed box turtle called "Frippertronics" and I will have a Rhinoceros Iguana called "Yngwie"...you can see I have blatently gone with a theme :-)

M0WLIE _ I think he drives an old 69 Rambler station wagon. He needs somewhere to put his rig.

FLAGG - The problem with Mustain has never benn personnel. The band has been around for 20 years. Dave's biggest problem is himself and trying to stay un-fucked up.

CUTHBERT - Thanks again for helping me out. After reading your post I promply took 39 Red off of ebay. I had been pissed that I bought this 'electric guitar', yet there no way to plug it into my speaker box and I could never seem to manage the Joe squeals. But, with you guidence I have taken the trembar out of the jack. Wow what a difference. The speaker box cable fit right in!!!! Look out, it's gonna be loud!!

Thanks again, Matt

Guys, I'm starting off well learning 20 songs of Joe for some live music in south italy. I'm realizing how beeing a musician like Satch is very cool but hard at the same time not for going arond the world or organizing but because you will have to play the same songs and, for example, right now I'm feeling sick but excited at the same time for my next concert. Any ideas for not beeing sick? P.S. this is my repertory

1- Surfing With The Alien 2- Always With Me, Always With You 3- Satch Boogie 4- The Crush Of Love 5- Flying In A Blue Dream 6- The Extremist 7- Cryin' 8- Motorcycle Driver 9- Slow Down Blues 10- House Full Of Bullets 11- Crystal Planet 12- Love Thing 13- Lights Of Heaven 14- Secret Prayer 15- Time 16- Turkey Man 17- Oriental Melody 18- GNAAHH 19- Up In Flames 20- Is There Love In Space

So, what do you think?

time to play catch up again ~

Jazzy, I read an interview the other day by D. Mustaine saying that one of his albums didn't sound anything like the way he recorded it when it was finished. He said he was like" WTF, I didn't play that!", and he was right. He didn't. The producer guy re-recorded HIS playing over most of Dave's parts, and sent the album out for distribution. I think the album was RISK. Sorry I can't be more specific. I read it in the grocery store waiting for my daughter to finish an interview for a job and I had a lot of interruptions. I also don't remember if it was in the guitar mag with Ozzy & Tony, or Tyler & Perry on the cover. I'm thinking it was Tyler & Perry. Anyways, bottom line is, can you imagine having your name, blood, sweat, and soul in an album, then finding out somebody redid it before sending it out! I think I'd kill the guy! DEAD! lol! Have you heard anything about this? Sorry about all the fog. I just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet.

*shel steps to the kitchen for a cup o' joe*

Leanna, "and he saw a waterbug so he tried to kill it, but then he couldn't find it...then it flew onto his BACK!! " Honey, that's why I don't live in Georgia! lol! I don't think we have flying waterbugs here in PA. Now that I think of it, I have a pretty funny waterbug story... Back in the day, maybe '79 or '80, my sister & bro-in-law lived at home (my mom's house) with us for a while. This one particular night I wasn't home, but I've heard the story many times. We'd get waterbugs in the kitchen at that house. They only came out at night. Anyways, nobody was home but my sis & bro-in-law. As I understand it, they had a little hanky panky session, and went downstairs for something to eat. My sis was in a long t-shirt & her underwear, and my b-i-l was just in his tighty whities, which were never tight because he was a skinny bag of bones. lol! We had what we called the "back kitchen" , which was actually the laundry room/pantry type room. It also had a big freezer in it. Anyways, I guess my b-i-l went in the back kitchen to get a can of something to eat, and he saw a waterbug. He jumped up on the freezer yelling to my sister and throwing a fit in his very comical way. He's funny as hell. He gets the idea to jump off the freezer and into the kitchen to avoid said bug - but forgets to avoid the top of the doorway. WHACK! He smacks his head off of the top of the doorway, and falls to the ground, with the bug now freaking out running in every direction. There he laid, in his loose tighty whities, with his head in one hand, a can of soup in the other, and the bug doing the chicken dance all around him. lmao!! This, my friends, is why I run for the death spray! lol! This guy is my ex bro-in-law now, and that's not such a bad thing. lol!

Benny, I didn't forget about the elephant fly - I never knew about it! lol! As for the bug corpses laying around - eeuuwww! Bug morgue. How may I direct your SPLAT!

Mayhem, I'm ALWAYS waiting for the next show! lol!

VFR, very nice words to Mikey :)

Powerslave, you don't like Chris Kattan as Monkey Boy? lmao!!!

Joeman, you should feel better for a few days after the big detox. I can imagine that stuff gets all the toxins out of your system...along with everything else ;-)

still 47 posts to go ~~ be back later

Mari, thanks for the email - sorry it's taking me so long to reply. Lots to keep up with. This is much easier when the kids are in school. lol!

if you'll happily pay an inflated ticket price for Row 6, why even bother with presales in the first place? Just wait a few weeks and get front and center tickets from a scalper. In a sense that's the same as getting these "premium" tickets.

I totally disagree. The diference in the case of the Premium tickets is

A. Joe is guaranteeing a specific set of rows in return for a specific price (something hard to guarantee if you use ticketmaster or scalpers)

and

B. there are additional VALUE ADDED BENEFITS such as T-shirts, photo's, backstage passes, etc

and

c. most importantly the dollars you shell-out got not to a scalper, but to the tour/Joe/Joe's organization.

Austin, I realize you're not a fan of the premium tickets packages, but you could at least recognize it's better FOR JOE if his fans purchase the ticket packages sold here at satriani.com over paying any similar amount to a blood-sucking scalper.

again I will say this: I wish I had MORE money I could throw in Joe's direction. I would buy the Platinum package in heartbeat if I had the dinero. I would buy the gold package for my family if I had the money. I would do this with ZERO regret, and have zero problem with Joe selling these on his this, his website.

a belated HI to Alexandre :)

Hi to Zenfish and S4TCH BOOGIE ~ nice to see you post!

Ibanez89 James Abbott Bagnara Calabra, Reggio Calabria (RC) Italia

Welcome to T2J!

Here's what I think:

I don't play guitar, rather, I lurk here on T2J soaking up all the local color ~ I suspect the reason you're not getting a reply is those of us who don't play are aware there are many regulars here who also play Joe's songs, so what is there to "think" if we can't hear your playing, and the regulars here who DO play Joe's music would also like to hear your playing in order to tell you what they "think" ~ does that make sense?

I do think it is a wonderful thing to emulate Joe and play his songs if that brings you joy

it's all about the joy

...peace,everyone...

Hey Guys:-) I live in NYC and went out to check out some live music the other night and stumbled upon this band that just tore my head off. They are called Husky. The lead singer/ guitarist just tore my head off. The songs are great power-pop rock tunes with killin' guitar thrown in for good measure. I bought a copy of their CD and checked out their website at: HUSKY

Well worth checking out, and their stuff is available on the Apple iTunes music store and some other places. They have streaming mp3's on their site. Their aren't guitar solos on every tune but I'd checkout the song "Jukebox" cool jeff beck meets hendrix guitars on a coldplay-like song and the solo on "My Dumb Luck " is just killin' Anyway thought some of you might enjoy it as much as I have. I think Joe would really dig these guys. Peace Out, Uno

Zenfish ~ I often think that i don't really make my music. My music makes herself, using me. ~ those words are pure poetry! many a songwriter has expressed that songs come "through" them ~ they are the channel through which the music flows ~ at the same time, all music is indelibly stamped with the color, the flavor, the mark of the personality of that channel ~ this is why the artist owns their music and every artist has their own unique "sound"

I've been listening often these days to "Echo" ~ did you ever notice this is (one of) my fave Satch songs? I noticed it is yours *smile*

I could listen to that song all day and never tire of it

Edit: speling is for sisies :P

cutgbert I think Jazzy was refering to the confederate flag thing. Black people kinda get reminded about that whole little slavery thing when they see that flag flying on state capitol buildings. You lost the war people, get over it. California does not fly the mexican flag anymore, why does Alabama fly the flag of a confederacy they lost? (am i like political or what?)
ciugeek - I never really cared for the pre-Marty Friedman version of Megadeth. Thought they were really cartoony. Dave is a limited guitarist and has always needed a lead man. Marty is just one hell of a player and I think the band is pretty much over unless he gets someone really good to replace him. I dont think hireing Poland back was the answer.
Ibanez89 - Man, i dont care!

thats it, i am spent. thats why i refuse to do two shows a night

If you are going to get a scope mount for the AK,Make sure you look around. There are some really shity ones out there & a few good ones.I have a Mak90 which is the chinese version of the Russian AK.I had picked up a shity mount that was good for one shot & one shot only. The reason,AK's were not designed to be hunting rifles so the scope mounts do not secure tightly enough to the gun to be effective.Determined,I found another brand which was better but not perfect...........If you can find another gun more suitable for hunting,I stress you do it!....SKS's are made for that kind of stuff........

Many AK owners are not aware of this. You can make an AK fully Auto with one simple step. But I will let you figure it out. When most AK's & their copies are produced,(out of the U.S.)they are made fully auto.If they are shipped to the U.S. , they are fitted with the mechanics to be semi-Auto.I am not saying all are made fully auto....but a good % are...................anyway.hope you find this info usefull

Jazzy x, I dunno man, I don't think i'd go tapping my amps' valves with my penis.....I'd get burned! Then again, it's always good to be able to report that your penis is responsible for a high-pitched squealing noise! ....I think!
DCK, the valve tapping resulted in no crazy noises. Although they're obviously f*ck*d - I had both volum settings on the amp dialled completely off, and the bastard was still hissing! I got a good response from Bob at eurotubes.com, so I shall probably get 5 new JJ tubes to replace the mixture of 12AX7's in there at the moment. I'll leave the EL34's for now cause they work, but I'll eventually put some new ones in, probably JJ E34L's.
IceZer, cool website and photos, congrats to your sister! I take it that's you and another sister who were the bridesmaids? Regardless, you looked lovely. Blue is a cool colour!
