ovation1 - I've been meaning to tell (ask) you something for a few days now... You're on Eric Johnson's email discussion list, right? Did you catch the post from about a week ago that contained EJ's Japan tour dates? If not, let me know and I'll post them here for you...

GODGUNSGUITARS - Well, Lance won by about six and a half minutes...so he'll obviously be a serious contender even if he loses a few minutes next year. I'd like to see him go for seven victories, but I don't think he'll try unless he's able to surround himself with a solid team again. He's changing sponsors next year...he'll be with Discovery Channel (An unintentional Simpsons reference...woohoo!). I don't know how that'll work out for him.
TASTEY - You're not being nosey... I'll make a post about trutina whenever I hear anything new. I emailed him a few days ago...
mowlie 2000 - Cool...so Germany was a success? :-)
Charles Senne - You're talking about Carol Satriani, right? People post her website address here every so often. It's not infringing on Joe's personal life...she's a great artist.

Everyone should check out her work...click here. Her paintings look like photographs......amazing.

civgeek - That set seems pretty cool. Is "Round And Round" the Aerosmith song? That's a great track...as far as I know, the band has never played it live.
IbanezTrent160 - That's weird...just the other day I was thinking about the question I asked you way back when, for some reason.

I used to live a few minutes from Pechanga Casino, and I know where they were planning on building the high school (when I lived there). I can't believe it's already being built...wow. What's the GO stand for (GOHS)? What's the mascot?

JS JS - Al Surfer posted a thing a few years back about how people here who misbehaved (or were just plain stupid) would be forever banned from T2J and sent to Winger's site. It turned into a nice insult that we would throw around every now and then as a joke.
alexandrecaetano - Good luck! :-) What kind of exam is it?

...Austin...

OCPS470, haha, you've just noted and explained pretty much all my misgivings about the EVO! I'll copy and paste your assessment so that next time somebody asks why I don't like them I can use that! hehe.

Seriously tho, the EVO neck model sounds ok when it's split, in use with the EVO middle, but the bridge doesn't split well at all. Also, I hear you on the lack of dynamic variety....the 'compressed' sound. String pull is a big issue with it.......I just find it too much like hard work to sustain the actual note I'm fretting. It'll find harmonics to that note, or other notes, or just rumbling noise, but it doesn't sustain with much of a swell like it appears you get from an Air Zone.

On V.V - do you use Virtual Vintage 2.1 or 2.2? hehe, the small things probably make a difference!

Oh and by the way, the Air Zone sounds really appropriate - what it seems to be good for is folks (like me) that want a bridge sound that has neck like qualities, but definition and harmonics. In a sense it allows you to have a "clean" distortion sound

Perfect!

Chrome_Boy87, there's a JS700 too - it's a hard tail.

JS100, 600, 700, 900, 1000, 1200, 2000, 10th, Y2K. I think that's yer lot!

Hy everyone, have just a few minutes to post....

Chrome_Boy87-here a few technical details about the JS 900:

Basswood body
JS neck
Jumbo Warmoth #6105 fret
Edge bridge DiMarzio Paf Pro (H)
neck pu DiMarzio Fred (H) bridge pu
Chrome hardware
color: BP Black Pearl

I´m the lucky one to have one of these guitars (although it´s still not signed by Joe yet), before they were sold out (no idea why they are not available any more). My opinion is that this guitar is very good to play (like nearly every Ibanez guitar ;-), I like it a lot, also the hardware, the Pickups and their sound and also the colour of the guitar (Black Pearl) are wonderful. I can´t tell you exactly what´s the difference between this type of guitar and the other JS guitars exept the different colours (I think on the other guitars there are new types of bridges like the edge Pro bridge), but with the informations above you can look to the Ibanez site and find out.

Hope I could help.......

Have a great day everyone...... ;-) tune

Jelly - "none of which are songs"

don't be such a tart.... lmao...

actually, the karaoke version of Baby on Board would make an unusual CD..

in fact a CD of karaoke a'capella classics would be awesome

cuthbert - wow... I'm sure that there must be some EU equal rights law that don't allow politicians to eat kids.. so over here they'd have to be allowed to eat everyone or no one at all..

and the law passed would have cost e200M of tax payers money...

Zen - Symph 41 is awesome too [Jupiter I think]... also check out the flute conterto [2nd movement is delightfull] and piano conterto 23...

one of the things that most folks miss with Mozart is his chord voicing [which is what I mean by each note being as clear as crystal].. the combination of voicing and orchestration that he chooses generates a definitiation that is superb.. and that for me is where his genius is less obviously showing itself.. but showing itself none the less...

mikey - last night I got to see Kill Bill vol 1....

I just love those romantic mushy movies....

now I need to go to the shopping mall to kill as many people as I can with a katana

by the way... did you ever get your Jem sorted?? how is she..??

The Chosen One - all the rhythm guitars are now cut.... I'm not 100% convinced that the 1st one is tidy enough.. so I'll not rerecord the whole part.. just drop in and fix bits here and there... fingers crossed.. I'll be cutting the solo soon....

OCPS - 'Envy' [RG7470] has an Evo7 at the bridge... fat, crisp and tight.. great for riffing.. great definition for lead.. 'Avarice' [custom based on a Universe] uses a PAF7 at the bridge.. warmer and more 'woody' sounding... sort of Les Paul-ish but with larger gonads..

I've been toying with the idea of slipping an Air Norton onto 'Lust' [RG470] which currently has PAF PRO

I just bought new strings for my violin (which isn't that cheap). It's literally been about three years since I played the thing, so I'm really really quite rusty; my intonation is really bad since they don't have frets or anything... lmao

I would first like to say thanks Joe, for giving me the inspiration that I need to want to play the guitar better. The first song I ever heard of yours was Summer Song and to this day it is still my favorite. I am a firm believer that anything you do with a guitar is incredible.

I have been playing the guitar for quite some time now and I feel like I am at a stand still as far as technique and knowledge is concerned. Do you have any suggestions of books that would help me learn scales, technique and anything else that I would need to know to be a good musician.

Thanks for your help

ARTANIS - Thanks for tip. I use Mozilla as my broser and at lets me blow up the post screen by 4Xs and so I don't see the editing tools underneath very often and I forget they are there.

DO THE STU - No, it's not. The other guitarist is more an eighties guy then even me and so that would be the Ratt Round and Round. We're thinking of adding a couple STP and some Halen. Afetr that we'll have to add more older stuff to catch that crowd.

CLARKY, ZEN - There are 2 Concertos, to which are you referring. The interesting thing about the Flute Concerto in D is that in Motzart's day the flute hadn't been pefected yet and had a bad reputation for not being in tune. Motzart hated the flute and didn't write for it. When asked to write the Concerto what he did was redevelop an Oboe Concerto that he had already written, therefore saving himself some time and effort writing for an instrument that he didn't like.

For those Star Wars Fans

'Star Wars' Title Unveiling Wows Comic-Book Crowd

Reuters

SAN DIEGO (Hollywood Reporter) - Next year's third and final installment of the "Star Wars" prequels will be called "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," the film's producers said Saturday.

The name was unveiled Saturday for 6,500 comic-book fans at the 35th annual Comic-Con International in San Diego. Many in the audience jumped out of their seats, thunderously screaming in joy. Some even gave one another hugs.

For the uninitiated, the evil Sith are sworn enemies of the Jedi, the saber-wielding knights whose numbers include Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.

Well, made it back from vacation. 28 pages behind - took a long time to read.

Saw Prince in concert at the Allstate Arena (Rosemont Horizon).

2nd row - he played in the round. The show was a 7:30 pm start - but started at 8:40 pm. But was worth it. My wife is a HUGE Prince fan - and she was just amazed.

Played all of his big hits and a few songs I have never heard before. Played a few songs acoustically - in the middle of the stage on a swivel chair - so he could spin around and play to each side of the arena. The worst part is the parking afterwards - an hour to get out of the parking lot.

Anybody going to watch the Democractic Convention this week?

Do The Stu the GO in GOHS stands for Great Oak. i'm in football and the coaches get one ya if we make it plural. our mascot is the wolfpack and the colors are red white and blue. its an alright school i guess. i liked the layout of TV bettter though cause it acctually had a staircase or two!! this school looks like a prison, totally flat and blan. besides the fact that it looks bad, i think its going to be a pretty nice school. plus my girl is in asb and said we might have the battle of the bands early in the year, so i'm pretty stoked about that. jsut need to get some songs together and i'm set! anyways, where do you live now and how long ago did you live in temecula????

civgeek: hehe, I've seen part of that before, thanks!! :-) Paul is due to come here in Oct. for some clinics, and man, isnt he a great cartoonist also!!!! ;-) He's an awesome sketch artist, and could probably make a great living doing that too, lol!!....

Do The Stu: I just deleted an EJ mailing list letter a couple of weeks ago and didnt read anything about Japan tour dates!!!! :-0 This Japanese EJ Site shows an upcoming Acoustic Tour schedule.... I hope I can swing it!!....

Artanis I: Dude, you had me cracking up with the played a drum solo on the guitar for Wipeout, lol, Trogdor would be proud, I could just imagine you beating that Acoustic!!....

btw man, I agree on the inlaw issue.... I remember growing up hearing people talk bad about their inlaws and the never ending jokes etc etc, but over here it is a good thing, lol....

alexandrecaetano: I know you'll ace the test bro, and thanks for the welcome back!! :-) :-) btw, I'm very happy to see you use the word gambate!! :-) Have a great week!!....

Clarky: LMAO man about the katana, haha, you know, the real ones will cut through anything!!!!.... I've seen it, and if you just barely touch the blade, it will make you bleed, lol, that damn mall would'nt know what hit it, hehe.... Thanks for asking about my JEM man, it was fixed awhile back (and I posted about it while you were away) to an un-noticable repair on the scarf joint!!!!.... I was amazed and kept the guitar, and it is my mainstay these days cause I'm working on refining my sweep picking, lol, gotta have a full trick bag to rely on!!....

I'm glad that your not 100% satisfied with The Chosen One.... Work it till it feels and sounds right.... The solo will be ready when you are.... Works the same way as Karate as you know.... Speaking of which, your Goju-Ryu book is proving to be difficult to get, but I will perservere.... Soon Paul, soon.... Only the best for the best!!....

Happy Birthday Adrianorb!!....
