Happy Birthday Joe!! You look young for a bald guy! haah!
Clarky: Congrats man! I hope all 15 years were good ones.
Mari: I second everything the Clarkmeister said, and I'd add that if you start playing the guitar, don't be overly concerned with playing leads right out of the gate...it's much more important to start with the simplest things and build slowly, making sure you aren't developing holes in your knowledge. I think it's best to start with proper posture and chords...then barre chords...theory....note reading...then simple single note stuff...and then advanced stuff...etc.

Happy Birthday, again to Joe. No new tour dates added? Hopefully the webmaster will receive word from joe and more will be added. Anyone see the new guitar player with Oz and Tony Iommi on the cover? Ozzy makes a statement about joe. It went somethign like when he's looking for a guitarist, he's not looking for a riff to impress Joe satriani, but to sell records to tennagers, lol. Anyone with the official quote? I was too cheap to buy the mag, I have a subscription to guitar player.

Cube, what was wrong with Vinnie Moore? How come he is the one album you cannot listen right thru? Have you heard UFO with Vinnie yet? If so how is it? Austin, I know you do not like YJM's music but I still think you oughta give Alcatrazz a listen as well as Inspiration... I often prefer YJM covering others than playing his redundant stuff. Clarky, congrats on 15 years!!! I hit the big 25 this year!!! I coulda been out 10 years ago!!! Food for thought!!LOL Zenfish you ever visited Pere Lachaise and meditated at Morrison's resting place? He is but one of the many incredible artists contained in those amazing green acres...

Hey, yes Robert Cray is great.

Frankenstein was like the first instrumental rock tune I had ever heard. It is one of my all time favorite tunes, a true classic. With a good keyboard player the tune shouldn’t be that hard to pull off. I believe a band has covered the song once, but I can’t remember who. Edgar and Johnny Winter for G3.…Clint
Not sure who was asking about the screaming pitch harmonic Joe does in several of his tunes. I get from watching Joe on the DVD’s, he grabs the bar with his left hand and using the inside of his left thumb, slightly touches the “B” string just past the neck around where the 24th fret would be on a 22fret neck. He then pulls the bar up to the pitch he desires. I have found you can get different pitches using different strings in, and by modifying the position where the thumb makes contact with the string using this technique. This technique works best with a hotter signal, and hum-buckers, at least in my experience. .....Peace

GodsGuns, Michael Fath and Dave Uhrich have both recorded excellent instrumental guitar versions of Frankenstein. I particularly like Dave Uhrichs. He was/is?? a great guitarist from the windy city that I have not heard a lot about lately. The Winter Bros for G3?? Interesting idea but G3 is for primarily instrumental guitar players who have stretched the boundaries of the instrument/genre!! A Satch jam with the Winter bros would sure be cool tho!!!!

Mayhem, I'm good. I'm 10 pages behind again, but I'm good. lol! My G3 show was on Nov. 5th. It was fantastic! The jam was incredible! I made it to the front of the stage for that :) You can read my review for the details.
Clarky, nice to see you back again. Happy anniversary to you and the Mrs. Our 16th is coming up in November :)
Alex, I told Moey you said hello. He puffed out his chest and walked past Stewart, whipping his tail in Stew's face on the way by ;-) lol!
LGU89 - hiya!
Delfino, Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clarke, Flea, Matt Bissonette, Michael Anthony, John Myung, John Entwhistle...
Slan, hiya honey! Don't think I'll be watchin any Moore movies at the mo. I wanna think happy thoughts (enter vodka and cranberry ;-) Um, but that's strictly to celebrate Joe's birthday, and the fact that it's Thursday, and it's not raining, and I have Cheez-Its... lol! Don't work to hard bro!
Hi Mikey! No rain at all today, and the water is back in the stream now, minus the big puddles left behind in the grass.
Mick, quick spider story, but not really. lol! After my shower I went over to my bedroom to get my Satch shirt to wear today. I put it on, and instantly felt something under my left underarm. In a split second my mind raced ~ Do I have a myocardial infarction and just die right there in my room, or do I reach under my shirt for it at the risk of touching God knows what? Well, quicker than my mind had to think, my hand reacted. I reached under my shirt, grabbed the horror that was in it, and pulled out...a dryer sheet. LMMFAO!!! Funny as shit man, and I cursed all you bastards while I was at it. LOL!!!!! Friggin' spider stories... lmao!!!
