Bummer when I heard that Joe was touring with Deep Purple but not playing with them when they roll into town here in October. My first rock concert was Deep Purple on the Machine head tour, I was 8 years old at the time. Thankfully I had an older sister who brought me along for the ride.

Here's an interesting thought! I don't know if anyone here has been tuned into to the last three Jeff Beck albums but every time I listen to them I can't help but picture both Beck and Satch on a what would likely be a Killer Duo! Food for thought.

Don't know if Satch ever reads these but please man would you come back to Calgary some time? Missed you here in summer of '90. I keep checking!

Top of the Morning/Evening!

I just have three quick questions to any and/or all band members:

1. How, if any, did your parents influence you to become a professional musican.

2. Are/were any of your parents musicians and if so what instruments do they play?

3. How's that Tour going? I saw you in Saratoga, NY August 17th. Don't tell the other bands, even though they were great too, but, YOU stole the concert!!! Phenominal you all are!

Dragonchild: "It's really awful how traders take advantage of those in need" when actually it's traders taking advantage of those in need that are stupid and left-handed. (notice I said AND - it's pretty rare to be both)

Schlongski: no one else was invited either, so if you'd been around when it was organised (18 months ago) you could have submitted your own song no worries.

MegaMarley DethBob is the best! I've got a Buffalo Soldier beat going through my head with guitar leads everywhere!

Oh crap now I can't get it out ... yikes it's tea time, haven't had lunch. My regards to the people!

Icezer: at the top of the page is a link that says "click here" ... click there. Then click on "tracks" in the new window, you can listen to some clips there.

Or: you can go here and you'll find them even more easily.

jelly man, yeah I love Naked Gun. Those films are hilarious, your quote being a prime example!

Ovation1, I dunno man, i'd love to fly heli's! They're so graceful, and the sensation of Heli flight is so different when you take-off and land. I understand the physics behind them and the way they work....the only problem is the cost! Oh, and getting used to having to constantly adjust for the torque, but it's the sort of thing I guess you just learn.

Apache/Longbow pilots are the ones I don't get - they have auto-torque control on the tail rotor so they don't have to worry about it, which is dead useful....they just use it like a rudder.....but the whole concept of training to consciously focus your eyes independently.....that's just crazy!

NSPike, if you're at all interested in de-tuning and re-tuning your guitar, you don't want a Floyd Rose. You could have a couple of guitars with Floyds, setup in different tunings where they will remain, but it just doesn't suit regular change. The process of changing it's tuning will generally take half an hour, unless you want to fully set it up to the new tuning, in which case it'll be an hour, until you're good at it.

And yeah, if you've got a Floyd Rose bridge, you really want the locking nut. That said, you could go with a roller nut and locking tuners, but the nut was designed for it.

It's better to go with the 'vintage' or 'fulcrum' design of 2-point trem, with locking tuners. Or even better....use a hardtail!

IceZer, you are behind! hehe. haven't seen you around in ages....what's goin on? Is the summer weather as sh*t in Ireland as it is in sth England this year? Dunno if it made news everywhere, but a cornish village got half washed away by the monsoon-like weather of....July!

We just dont type on a screen, we truly are one big family, all because of JOE and his music!! :-) Amazing.... btw, I hope she brought the photobook along with her (the one I sent her of Okinawa), and if you havent seen it yet, you guys must hook-up again!! :-)

JS_JS: DWCAE is only available on the Japanese release (bonus track), but I'll bet it gets released on a future Best Of release.... Just like Slick did, lol....

962: but the whole concept of training to consciously focus your eyes independently.....that's just crazy!

Haha, lol man, that is a true statement!!.... The Apache / Longbow pilots have an easier job on the flying bit, but I'm sure they have just as much fun!!.... You should check around and see if there are any heli flying clubs around you so you can give it a try!!.... Good Luck man!!....

....Anybody else like Alter Bridge??.... I have a newfound respect for Mark Tremonti.... He never let loose with Creed, but boy, does he let loose here!!!!.... I knew he was a Dr. VAI fan, and they met at NAMM this year, so I wonder if he has'nt influenced Mark, lol, Mark sounds like Dr. VAI at times (lol, really, AND Mr. Petrucci!!) here people!!!!.... Check them out at alterbridge.com.... They are a great band, and the Vox ROCK!!....

....Later peeps, gotta check mail....

alexandrecaetano Ah ok thanks, I'll give it a shot once I'm done with some Black Sabbath songs.

Ovation 1 lol Will do...

I found what seems to be THE perfect job, but I doubt I'll get it, I'll apply anyway though.

Its demo-ing guitars for customers in a music shop lol...people come in ask to know about a guitar, you give them a few details then play it for them to show off its sound and let them play it if they want too so its like a sales assistant thats alllowed to shred every now and again. lol.

Btw the I got "Strange Beautiful Music" today, and am listening to it now on random. Its really cool so far, just what I've been looking for recently.

Hi Joe! I´m writting from Spain. I couldn´t go to your last G3 concert because I had no money, but I heard It was wonderful. I´m sure of that: Joe, Steve and ... Robert Fripp! (It had to be amazing). I´m writting for second time (I know it´s no really much) to tell you some things (I hope you can read this post message). First time I wrote you was to ask you some old gear that You dont´t use. I still thinking the same: If you have some stuff you don´t want (Specially now you´ve changed your gear) You could gift it to me (An old guitar, an old FX...). I have no money to buy it and I´ld be really grateful. I know I am very daring, but I must try! And gear would be useful again (I´m sure something that it´s no more useful to you could be really useful to me) It´s something between a recycling and a charity. What do you think? Another thing I must tell you is that I have known here a really good friend: Mark. It´s nice that this web connect people all over the world. And all of us have something in common.... You! I really like to know you (Face to face, not by videos or CD), even take some master class with You (I´m sure you´re a really good teacher), but unfortunatly I´m afraid I can´t allow me. Sight! Thank you for your music, thank you for your web.... Just, THANK YOU!

Joe, that wang-bar/echo/feedback thing at 2:08 of 'Searching' f*cking rules, that song is 10 minutes of guitar bliss.

Also, I wanted to comment that I think that you've really nailed things production-wise on the last two albums.

Powerslave214 Who lives in a hollowed out skull under a sea of molten larva? MegaBob DethPants!!!

Ovation 1 Oh I will...but the thing I'm gonna' assume they don't hire me because of is:

1) I'm 17 and everyone seems to have a problem with hiriing people of that age for some reason,

and

2) If I say I've been playing 2 years they are probably gonna' do exactly what that band did to me and just ignore me without even hearing me play.

Which sucks really...maybe I should go in there to ask about the job inside, and if they ask how long I've been playing...hopefully the conversation will sway this way...

[Delfino's Legendary Scripting]

ShopGuy: So how long ya' been playin'?

Me: About two years.

ShopGuy: Ah...right...well I'm afraid we need someone who can really show these guitars off, have you been taking lessons?

Me: Nope, never had a lesson in my life.

Shopguy: Ah, so you're self-taught. I'm afraid we can't hire you <whispers> because we are assuming you play Blink 182 seeing as you are under 20 and have been playing for a short amount of time...

Me: I pity da' fool that don't give me the chance to show him what I can do! Get me a guitar my good man and atleast hear me play!

Shopguy: <runs to get guitar>

Me: <Waiting patiently singing> This is life, the one you get so go and have a ball, because the world don't move to the beat of just one drum, what might be right for you might not be right for some....like Gibson necks...

Shopguy: <returns> Here you go your highness.

Me: <Petruccifies, Satchurates and Vai-o-cizes all over the place>

Shopguy: Can you play any 'Busted' songs?

[/Delfino's Legendary Scripting]

Yeah...thats how I think It will go down near enough. lmao.

The irony is (if they don't even let me play for them) the shop is called "Fair Deal Music" lol.

Hey Joe, could you ever find it in your heart to come through Oklahoma? I understand Dallas, Tx is close but I am just unable to ever make it out of state. I so much want to see you live one day. It breaks my heart that you never seem to come through Oklahoma although I do understand some of the constraints you have on attendance and ticket sale etc. I guess there are just too many coutnry folk here that wouldn't know Joe from a hole in the ground. Oh well their loss. I am still hoping for that one time that you can make it through here. God bless Joe, Jeff, Matt, Galen, the excellent Mr. John Cuberneti, Eric, Justin, Mick, Mike and the awsome Jon R. Luini.

Hey Joe Just a quick hi now im back off holiday, back to getting my tunes down... Just a quick question, in Satch Boogie at the tapping section the backing sounds at if it is being played backwards, is that right?

Be back in soon...
