Jazzy, thanks hon! I'm feeling better now, but it was a rough week.

Austin, no, actually I was sofa queen...

we todd did ;-)

Delfino, I think the spiders nesting in your nose are making you sick. Get well soon bud!

Mari, I get worn out just reading your posts. lol! Two words for ya girl ~ RED BULL!!! lol! Go Mari, Go mari, Go Mari *doing a head rocking, finger snappin', happy dance*

Slan, congrats on the mountain flat! Glad you're feeling better. Hope you and your wifey are rolling in good karma for a long time to come. As for the drum skins, they're lasting. lol! I haven't played them for a while cause of me poundin' head, but it's clearing up, so I should be good to go in a few days :)

Gee3, Alice = COOL! Let us know how the show is please.

Davey, goodbyes are always hard when you love a friend. Here's a cyber hug if it will help ya hon.

Another reason why I usually skip over UWSG. It's just to deep.

jelly man, are you eating paint chips again?

DBARNES, I feel for ya bro. 22 days with no power must suck hard. Hope all in your neck of the woods are safe and recouperating from all the mess from the storms. God Bless ya bro!

jblaze, I'm eventually going to have to have surgery on my beak to open things up. I suffer all year long, no matter what the season, but I do think the rainy weather makes it worse. I was starting to feel like my face was so swelled I was starting to look like SpongeBob Squareface, especially after laying down for 2 days. lol! The antibiotics are doing the trick, and hopefully I'll be good for a while.

Well, I've caught up from page 14 to 16. Now I should start back at page one. *groan*

Eva, as for the barking dog - we put up with our neighbors dog barking for about 8+ hours a day for months. It was a dog from the shelter with major abandonment issues. She would go to work, and the dog would bark from 6:30 a.m., until she got home anywhere between 3 & 5. It was horrible. We talked to her about it many times, but her answer was always "well what am I supposed to do?" like it was our job to solve her problem or just leave our house every time she left hers. How did we finally solve the problem...we moved.

Punkdude, HI!

Mari, my friend already warned us about the front rows at STOMP. We're pretty far back, but still have a good view...without eating dust. lol!

civgeek, "Thought about you yesterday when my 5 yr old walked through a spider web and this big chuncky spider hanging off the end of it's web as she spun around screaming bloody murder. Took me about 10 minutes to get her calmed down. Of course it didin't help that I was trying not to laugh" Now you know how my husband feels with me! lmao!! I can totally relate to your daughter. lol! Sad but true. lol!

OCP, thanks for the answer on Mount Dora. I'll call my uncle in MD. tomorrow and let him know, although I'm sure he's talked to a neighbor down there by now. It's good to get another confirmation to ease his mind. He bought the house, but hasn't even moved into it yet. It would be horrible if something happened to it.

Benny, I'm going to have to stick with the natural disasters. You can keep the crawly things. lol! ACK!!

Jazzy, heard Sad But True on the radio coming home from work. It's one of my favs. I really have to snag all my Metallica cd's back from my son. The little bugger has snatched them one by one, but the two he can keep are S&M & Some Kind Of Bullshit. lol!

GOOD LUCK MATT!!!

Stace, I miss talking to you. I've been so busy, and you with your new job where they actually make you work? The nerve! lol! Hope things are going better with the new job and pay. Hope the kitties are well and Sparky is employed and bringing home the bacon ;-)

Alex, hello baby!

Zinc Master, that's my kind of Inner Peace! lmao!

BAT-TER RY!!

Oh hell, it's almost 1:30 in the morning and I finally caught up on 16 pages. Night peeps!

My name is Elizabeth and my "good-friend," TIM WEBLEY, is a huge fan! You may remember signing his Steve Vai custom at the Tower Records here in Hoffman Estates... ...I even found him an autographed pic of you for him for christmas... ...I have bought tickets for us to see you OCT 22, at the House of Blues in Chicago...

Our relationship is a little undetermined at this time, and I was hoping if you could say a word or two about how "Once you find love, you shouldn't let it go " or something to that effect with his name -- it would show him how much I care and what I'm willing to go through for him -- which is needless to say, BEGGING you for a little help.

I'm sorry this message will be written everyday 'til the 22, since I'm not sure when or if you will even see this. Sorry for the annoyance.

The New York Dolls were even better tonight than they were last night. It was awesome. It's nice to see that absolutely no one has said anything about these concerts that I went to. ;-) Has anyone here even heard of the New York Dolls...? Hehehe...

Yesterday's opening band, The Chelsea Smiles, was awesome (as I said yesterday).

Today's opening band, River City Rebels, sucked beyond belief. They were full of energy, but they were so focused on jumping up and down and running around the stage that they didn't really focus on their playing. They sounded like a big pile of noise.

The crowd was sick of the band after the first few songs (they got old FAST), so most of us just stopped clapping between songs. The singer got pissed, so he started spitting into the crowd every now and then... At one point, the band's sax player called us the "lamest f-ckin' crowd" he'd ever seen. I could say the same thing about his band. Bleh.

crushingday62 - That bootleg is in FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) format. Unlike MP3, it is a lossless format. Think of an FLAC file as a ZIP'd WAV file. You have to download it, decode it to WAV, and either burn it onto a CD or listen to it on your computer.

FLAC and similar formats, such as SHN, are FAR superior to MP3s. Because they are lossless formats, everyone gets the same quality copy of the music. This isn't true with MP3. If you have an MP3 of something and burn it to CD, and then I take that CD and make MP3s of it and make another CD to give to someone else, that person will have a lower quality version of the music (this is called "generation loss").

Go here for answers to all of your FLAC questions, including where to go to download an FLAC decoder.

hamdo - Welcome back. :-)
DBARNES - 22 days without power...? That's insane. Did the hurricanes do a lot of damage to your house? Did you lose anything big / valuable? I hope everything is (relatively) okay...

...Austin...

jelly man, sorry I didn't realise HL came out in 98. Yeah I know HL2's engines are great....I was just being purposefully OTT and saying that by the time it comes out it will be outdated.

Yes of course, HL2 will be good, but too much hype is a bad thing. From what I've seen it does look excellent, and I await with intrigue, but I think that release date will change quite a few times before we get to play it.

Delfino, as above.
Austin, edit: I shouldn't have spelled Whitcombe with an 'e' on the end! hehe. It's an excellent read, I thoroghly recommend it!

Those Lego men you linked to, I have all those. What's special about them.....I missed the previous posts on the matter?!

Stu Clone, having a decent writer is important, I agree. I dunno what you think, but I thought the storyline of Halo was impeccable. It was really original and carried off in a very involving way.

Battery, baby. My neck hurts like a bitch today. I was headbanging all the way from Madison listening to Master of puppets, garage days, kill em all, black album, and justice for all and ride the lightning. It was a metallidrive.

Michelle: Sad but True is the fate of St.Bullshit. You better get well before you go to those concerts! Red Bull always works. Drink copious amounts of Gatorade too. And think of the pleasent concerts that await your arrival. And please keep St.Anger away from the kids!

Simon: Smart man. Even after the Bush&Kerry debate I am surprised there a lot of people who havent changed their minds about their voting. I wasnt surprised that Kerry blew Bush off. and girls, look at Edwards. Would you rather have Dick "Where's my Viagra?" Cheney as your vice president or John Edwards?

thanks mom :-X

I just ordered a DVD writer, 25 blank DVDs and an MP3 player. I figure DVDing my data will be easier to carry than six hard drives, plus they're not susceptible to airport x-ray machines ;-) order total was around £60 so it was a bit of a bargain all round really :-)

dck my PayPal account is burning a hole in my virtual pocket - have you tried the Digitech Metal Head? The online samples sound cool, and there's a brand new one going on eBay for £31.99....

Later peeps... more coffee time! Enjoy your Sunday! :-)

how come 92.1% of T2J newcomers who have a request for Joe do it as a double post?

michelle - not paint chips but there's definitely something funny in the air... I am in a student house so it wouldn't surprise me...

962 - yeah, i probably snapped at you a bit there... totally unnecessary- it's probably cause i spend time on other forums having to inject common sense/facts into people...

Half-Life 2 will be out by March 15 (my birthday). Mark my words. And I believe it'll be out before Christmas, but that *could* slip.

dubz - welcome to T2J. No, Satriani has not done an instructional video/book- he finds most of them realyl poorly done and no substitute for proper teaching. If you look on http://www.guitar.com there are some videos in which Satriani gives some good tips. If you dig around, you can find some articles he wrote for a magazine too. He has recently said that he has an idea for a DVD that would in some way be less lame than standard videos... we'll have to wait and see if anything happens about that...

Do the Stu - Oh right. I understand now. The thing I dont understand is how the worm got into my computer as I have firewall and anti-virus software. I also scan for viruses etc every week and nothing has ever been detected.

Clarky - Once I find out what time I will be in Reading I will let you know and I will email you my mobile number. It would be great to meet up.

PhryDom - Sorry for getting sooo hyped up bro. It is just that I hate people who create viruses etc and, to start with, I wouldnt even know how to create one. Sorry bro... Also see the answer I gave to Do the Stu.

Mr Nick - Possibly... Let me see how things pan out, work-wise...

Did you know that there are "Lies, Damn Lies and then Statistics....?"

Aarren no worries matey! Like I said I think it's very unlikely that you are infected - somebody is and your address is in their address book. When they open the infected message (this includes using the Preview Pane in OE) it will send itself out to as many peoiple as it can, each time pretending to be from someone in their address book. These things very rarely let you know who really sent them - they masquerade as innocent people by taking random addresses from the infected person's address book. They probably don't even know they're infected because the worm doesn't "tell" them that it's doing anything at all! Bastards.

Jellyman 15th of March aye...hmm....is that the date the xbox came out?...all those years ago I mean... They seem to work it so that every anniversary of its release they bring out something that kicks ass...like this year it was the crystal xbox...admittedly nothing special about it unless you have a transparent fetish but anyway, Half-Life 2 will make such a great addition to early 2005...lets hope 2005 starts off better for my family than 2004 did lmao...

delfino pie- i seem to remember it was sometime around then that x-box came out, but that wasn't my reason... Valve submitted a release candidate to vivendi universal games on september 15th. this has to go through some tests, which if it passes, vug are contractually obliged to release it wihtin 6 months.

VUG and vlave have been fighting in courts over certain issues and it's believed that VUG may be currently holding hl2 back as a game of chicken with valve- neither wants to miss the christmas period, and neither wants to give ground legally. Whatever happens, so long as the RC (release candidate) was technically correct, VUG have to release it within 6 months, which would be march 15th. This is what happened with counterstrike Condition Zero supposedly...
