I have 5th row seats to Joe's show tonight at the Keswick Theater near Philly, PA, and I'm looking forward to rocking out and marveling at Joe's guitar mastery...

SATCH ROCKS!!!

I have never been to hear Joe in concert, but if it is anything close to his Live in San Fran, and G3 concerts it should be AWESOME!

I just had to share that, because I have been getting revved up about this show for weeks!

I hope my ears still work tomorrow...

Rock on people!!

Zinc Master- yes sorry about that grumpiness.

I haven't seen the new Starsky and Hutch film either - but I cannot stand Ben Stiller, so unfortunately haven't felt the urge to watch it. I did like the Spiderman film as well though- but not the Hulk re-make. I bought some of the old Hulk stuff on DVD recently, and remembered how they were so much better. I suppose the other odd one has to be Batman- they varied a lot in quality. I think Michael Keaton did the best job.

I did like X-Men- but translating comics to film isn't quite the same as re-making old programmes.

I agree- Knight Rider: The Movie sounds like a very bad idea- especially as David Hasselhoff would probably expect to still be includedl in the cast!

The Hulk needed work - too cartoony. X-men pretty good, both of them. Many movies lately are just re-makes of older movies as well - The Manchurian Candidate for example.

I think, sometimes, Hollywood has run out of ideas - so re-do old ones, and add more sex and violence, and bammo, a new movie.

Miami Vice is getting ready to hit the big screen, with Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx currently in negotiations to star in the pivotal roles of Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs.

Zinc Master- I thought the way the Hulk turned out was a shame- it could have been a lot better. I think the computer generated / human mix just didn't work at all. I agree, it was far too cartoony. X-Men I and II both rocked though!

There are LOADS of re-makes out there- the one I have avoided watching so far is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre- the original freaked me out, not sure what a re-make would be like with today's effects... I've had enough bad dreams lately!

not much into horror flicks - most make me laugh - and i would rather see a comedy anyway, so I haven't seen any version of the chainsaw movies

cool theme song for the time - bad idea for a movie - miami vice

Zinc Master- I don't watch too many horrors myself, especially ones with vampires in; but I thought the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was not so much horror, but more just sick!

The only way I could watch it was to fast forward the worst bits at appropriate moments! Thank goodness I didn't see it at the cinema. :-)

To be a guitar teacher do you need to be at a certain "grade" I've never in my entire life taken a test that has given me a musical grade or anything so I got no idea how to go about it...

Joe, I really hope you plan make Baltimore MD. a regular stop for all your tours from now on. We want to see G3, too. A lot of bands group us together with D.C., but many people can't travel that far and they tend to bypass us.

Thanks for year after year of fantastic music, BEAR

cuthbert1776 Broom Closet, very funny. I'll keep that for a joke I can tell to a couple of friends of mine. Of course Moore is biased, my problem with Fox News is they say there not when they are. I don't belive in all that conspiricy stuff, however Bush's record isn't great. Let's look at this election, not the past ones.

jazzzzzzzy Hmm, you think that even though you disagree with her politics?

962 Hmm, don't liek Yngwie? neither do I, do you think it was smart to have him for the G3 tour?

Zinc Master I pity the foo'. Cool quote. I wonder if they will get Mr T to be in it. I refuse to see a movie with Owen Wilson, he has never been in a great movie IMHO.

CLARKY- Paul, Thank's, I do get thing's A little confused sometimes...I geuss I am parrtial to Whatever is "warmest" But has much HI-Gain, So far, Marshall it would seem has the monoply on "fat warm, Overdriven, distortion, And super crisp clean channel, Gee, I was thinking about A JSX, But from what I hear it's not such A breakthrough on tonal color's. I can get A pretty good deal On A Marshall mg100HDFX amp, and MG4-12 cab. What do You think of those as My 2nd amp?combo package?...are they reliable?...Also what about the peavey 5150?..I hear those are cool! and I like that sound...Although not the clean channel's(which is really important to Me!) I do a lot of..(well not a lot) But I love channel switching, 3 or 4 times in A single song So adds more tonal coloring...Also switching between diffrence Overdrive setting's. Also, I really give You A HI 5 for supporting Your son's in their musical goal's or whatever!, it seeems They have many intrest's!...BTW I listend to "our blood" twice in A row! That is some really cool stuff! That and DCK's "korridorz"...So many outstanding song's on the album, But those 2 really grab Me musicaly! Maybe because the stories They tell and the places they take you?...Take Care......ALL NEW MEMBER'S- if You have not picked up Your copy of "satchuarted feedback" Please do So!.....There fresh and ready to be deliverd right to your door!.....To all have A great weekend and all......Steven

Delfino - Yes and no; it depends what kind of teaching you want to get into. To teach privately you really don't need any qualifications - you just need to be able to play. Although you can charge more money if you do have relevant qualifications. It helps to have a bit of a reputation as a player before getting into it, but if you don't then you may well be able to do that through the teaching. But it's hard to make a substantial amount of money (ie. a living) out of private teaching because it takes time to build up your clientelle.

For school/peripatetic teaching (which is what I do, as well as four or five private students) they really prefer you to be qualified, since it's a much more official position - to some extent you're more of an employee than self-employed. I got my teaching gig on the premise that I will graduate at the end of this year. Mind you, it did help that I used to go to the school and the head of music remembers me.

One thing I will say, however, is that regardless of how amazing you are at playing the guitar you may well make a lousy teacher. You have to be able to communicate the information in a clear, understandable, jargon-free, and fun way. You have to be able to relate to your students. Some people just can't do that. There are courses you can take and various methods you can employ, but that won't necessarily help in any way - you're either a good teacher or you aren't, IMHO.

By the way, I haven't forgotten about my little country styles demo I said I'd make for you - I've just had a lot on my plate recently; I will get round to it, I promise!!!! :-)

cuthbert - i'm now on mandrake linux which has one advantage and one disadvantage...

Good point - I've got internet working, and it was all pain free and easy.

Bad point - I've now got to wade through all the settings changing things to work in a nicer way (Slackware is nicely setup, it just doesn't do anything unless someone who really knows what they're doing plays with it.

962 - how deeply predictable! enjoy your guitar though :)

Master Yoda:
Point taken.Just a thought but I almost bought a 400 watt PA system to run my POD Pro through instead of an actual guitar amp.Maybe that's what you need?...The Idea of separating speakers so they are far apart for a good stereo sound really had me thinking about it seriously. When you think about it,when you play live you get miked up anyway...Good luck in your search nontheless:)

WEBMASTER:
This may be a silly request but I was wondering if you would consider putting a "Member Since (00/00/00)"...along with the rest of the member information on their post?.I am sure some people would be curious to see how long others have been here.Is that possible?
