Cuth, don't feel bad... Wicked World from the first (eponymous) Black Sabbath album still gets me going almost 35 years later!!! My first two (purchased on the same day) were Black Sabbath and Abraxas by Santana....

crushingday62, cool, are you using the midisport 2x2 for recording guitar? I'm just wondering how well it handles it and what the quality/speed is like, considering it's USB transfer and not firewire.

Here's the reason - I have a laptop which i've been using for my cubase projects. It does the job....I just need a sound card so I can record the guitar. A Firewire 4/10 would be great, but the laptop has no firewire port. I could get a 'PC Card' which goes in one of the card slots, with a firewire adapter on the end, but since the laptop has a pair of USB ports on the back, it seems like not such a bad idea just to get an external USB Sound Card, like the midisport!

Your thoughts and experiences with the 2x2 would be appreciated!

I don't get it......there's a lot of support for Bush from some surprising sources. The US is undeniably the most powerful nation on the globe. So, in my mind, it makes sense that the most powerful nation on the globe should be run by someone smart, who has a good handle on international relations, and a very well educated understanding of foreign politics and global economy.

Bush doesn't have these properties. He is probably one of those who thinks England is in London. He doesn't understand foreign culture, and doesn't understand how to integrate his nation into global economy. Instead, he's trying to shut off the outside world, and keep the US to itself, which on the face of it....yeah great......but the most powerful nation on the globe will always have strong affects on the rest of the world.

I don't recall him covering any big plans to help the thrid world. Where is the support for Africa and South America? I guess they are on the b-list, cause daddy never started a war with them which he didn't get finished doing.

For cryin out loud, he has succesfully blurred the line between 9/11, Osama Bin Laden, Afghanistan, and WMD's, Saddam Hussein and Iraq. They are two different conflicts, or at least they were, but now they're in the past, it's okay to say..."well, actually, I just wanted a crack at Saddam. I was just cleaning up what pop started 10 years ago".

I have nothing against the US. I don't think Kerry would be the perfect president, but I think he'd do a whole lot more good for the US as a part of the rest of the world than Bush is capable of.

All just my opinions, so please don't anybody take it the wrong way! I think i'm done on that subject.

Sold the Jem today! FINALLY! SA1260 here I come.
CodePoet, Welcome! I guess you're used to the multi-board appearance of PHP.BB2 style boards.......Joe's messageboard is a lot more sraightforward. It's just one long, continuous thread, like a book, rather than a collection of books on a shelf! It's great, and easy to get used to!

politics completely aside, but The Order Of Skull And Bones???? puh-lease! and it's dated 1996! Not sure why I pointed that bit out though :-D next we'll be reading about fake moon landings, silver strips in money to track you, and who knows what else - maybe "successful" hackers getting un-cooperatively recruited into the CIA... like I said - no politics - it just sounds like Chris Carter wrote that tale on a slow day, TF that he didn't decide it would make a good show...

IMHO, natch ;-)

ok, quick post, i'd love to continue, but need to do more household'y type things, like eat...

cuthbert1776 - don't get me wrong - i mistrust everyone until i have convinced myself they're "worthy" - and certainly no government has got through lol.... but you said "the facts are, it is a secret society", well, firstly - who said? some web site? who said it exists? who said it has the people "they" said it has? who said it does what "they" said it does? and secondly it's not very secret if all its details are described "at length" in a sub-page of some site on the internet!

i'd love to talk about this, sadly i don't have the time tonight (it's 2030ish here and i still need to cook food & eat it before bedtime! LMAO)... later... dave

Suzie, you called me '962'! haha, you're getting used to it! Anyway, yeah thanks, I got 900 squid for it which is good! I was going to go to London tomorrow, but i'd put it on ebay and had some bids on it. In the end, it went to a gent called Pete, from petersfield. He came over today, to my house, and paid for it and collected it, which was great cause I didn't have to worry about posting it! It's all good!

Hows the SG going? Are you starting to learn it's quirks and charms? I usually find after a few weeks playing a new guitar, I find out funny characteristics.....that's one of the things I enjoy most about getting a new guitar, or even a new set of pickups! It's always something different!

My mum and I just watched The Satch Tapes DVD again! What a blast, I love it. I was crackin up laughing at Vai talking about the curly cord! haha, he mentions it on the Alien Love Secrets DVD commentary too. I wish I had a postal address for him, so I could send him a curly white cord on his birthday. hehe

michelle - LOL! To be sure, I would have done that, but unfortunately I got out bid for them. They got to £11.70, and there's no way I would have paid anywhere near that; I have some 'normal' clothes that didn't cost that much... lmao. I have an old Marshall Amplification t-shirt that I was going to tear the sleeves off of, and then I was going to buy a permed wig to complete the ensemble. Very authentic, I think you'll agree... lol

Clarky - Cool. Just as long as it's not November 15th; that's when I'm going to see Europe!!!!! lol... Regarding the 'Shaven Haven Enigma', I have often pondered that very thing myself. Apparently there's the argument of it being more hygienic, but if the chick washes properly then that's not an issue if you ask me. Any guy that prefers a bald snatch has to have a few problems in my opinion. I don't get it either... Nicely maintained is one thing, but totally bald? No thanks.

Delfino - Okay man, here's what I'll do: I'll record a couple of short clips; one demonstrating cicken pickin', and the other demonstrating Travis picking. Bear in mind, however, that I'm no Albert Lee so they really won't be particularly breathtaking clips, but they will hopefully demonstrate the styles. I'll also write a short description of both styles, and send them to you in an e-mail if that's okay... ?

962 - I really don't know much about gear at all, I'm afraid. And to make it worse, I've never heard of the item to which you refer. Sorry...

Hey guys. I was just dropping by to ask about the Atlanta show on the 6th. It was initially slated to take place at the Tabernacle, but on going to the Tabernacle's web site I found that it has reportedly been changed to take place at the Coca Cola Roxy Theatre, and that all tickets bought for the Tabernacle would be honored. I'm just kinda confused because the website hasn't changed the location.

It's the Roxy...right? I have a 4 hour trip under way and I really dont wanna go to the wrong place. =}

962- sorry, but I find it a little odd addressing a human as a number - like I'm calling you C3P0 or something!

Glad you sold the Jem at last; we've got the Satch Tapes by the way on an old VHS copy!

The SG is going great- love the dynamics. I've tried out a few Pink Floyd bits on it, which suits it well- as well as whacking up the distortion after a bad day at work!

spent all day today in a studio recording my 6 minute long prog rock song... still missing parts though which'll be done next week... it's a hard life when you're playing bass, doing rhythm guitars, solo guitars, keys and singing... at least i didn't have to press any buttons...

ballet- if there's a guy in here who can go to a traditional ballet and not get vaugely aroused at some point or other i'd be fairly surprised... particularly if you go see Scheherazade...
