Hello @ all :)
I'm 18 years old and a Joe Satriani fan from Germany. I have an important question and hope that someone can help me. I am playing an Ibanez JS1000. But in connection with this guitar im using an amp including Marshall JMP-1 + Alesis Quaddraverb + Alesis Ra-100 with 2 marshall boxes. But by mere coincidence the sound really sucks and thats the crunching point. It's very disappointing that this sound is so bad when i am playing Satriani Songs like "Crush of Love" "All Alone" "Crystal Planet". :(
So my question is, what stuff is Joe Satriani playing ? I only know that he often uses Peavey stuff. Also i saw an amp on this page, called the "JRX" published by Peavey. Is Joe playing this amp, or a differnt one?
I would be very pleased if someone could help me, because i want to have a sound like Satriani. His sound is really really amazing :)

To all those people who have questions regarding that fanfare bullshit: I ordered tickets from them as well. They said at worst, the tickets will be available at the will call section of the theater the day of the event.

ok so i know it isnt exactly the same style, but has anyone checked out the guitar work in the motorcycle diaries soundtrack? kicks ass! the only complaint i have about it is that i wish the songs were developed a bit more, instead of the 23 songs on the cd, it would be great if there was 13 full length ones! if you have the chance you should check out the movie as well... its amazing!
anyway... hope all in satchland have a good afternoon and all you up in the north enjoy the rest of your thanksgiving!

gordon stu's old live effects: digitech bass whammy (as an octave box), boss chorus, boss digital delay, and sansamp distortion. that's generally about it, if anything at all.
he's more recently been using the peavey BAM series bass amps that have integrated effects.

O.K...Call me an old timer but I have been listening to Joe since the 80's.I must say that I really don't see what all the excitement is about the new JSX amp.I saw Joe live at Jones Beach, NY in August & I saw him before the "Big change"...I didn't like the new sound at all.Even on the Album,it sounded very muddy in the lows but did however, get some good highs.Nontheless I prefer Joe's old Marshall tone way better...Call me crazy, call me an Asshole but I am sure I am not the only Asshole that feels this way.Maybe Joe is tired of the old sound & wants something new but in my opinion - he is trying to re-invent the wheel.....I have listened to ITLIS over & over again & quite frankly,I just can't warm up to the JSX amp at all.....
There!..I finally said my peace:)

Jblaze1, i have to agree with you about the jsx amp. the main thing joe loves about this amp and the thing he uses the most is the clean channel. the majority of joe's sound comes from his pedals and his playing technique. lets face it you could give him any decent guitar and amp setup and he could make it sound great because of his talent alone. If you are using pedals to create your sound just about any good tube amp would sound great. i prefered the matshall sound better too. by the way i own a 30th anniversary marshall combo with no pedals and the sound is fantastic. If i had my chioce between a jsx and a 30th abnniversary i would take the marshall

You know that saying:"There are old pilots & there are bold pilots,But there are no Old Bold pilots"...I wonder if that applies to guitarist too?...lol...If there are,Joe is one of them!..lol...
BTW...anyone who agrees with me doesn't make them an @$$#oLe:)
Jelly man:This may be a stupid question but I know what he uses on the LISF but does he use a Marshall on the L.I.D.....Maybe I should score a LID to find out..get it?..lol..

Hello to all.
Isn't it sad that all we have to vote for is Bush or Kerry. I mean is this the best that our country can come up with to have as our leader?
In this day and age when we have the best technology and best minds in the world all we get is 2 guys mudslinging and doing their best to avoid answering any of the questions that are asked them.
IT'S PRETTY SAD.

Seriously...If I dare!
I've got tics for this Saturday's show, and I'd like to know if any of you have been chosen to attend the aftershow pass!
How are you notified, and how soon prior to the show were you notified of your lucky meeting with Joe?
Feedback appreciated.

DEBROB, Bob & Deb or RobbyBob? I got an email from the webmaster saying "thanks for the forward, i will pass this along to the contact i have at fanfire to help them out." I really hope this helps and things get sorted before Thursday.
Jblaze, I figured I'd better take that as my one free shot. LOL!
A little while ago I was sitting down reading a book, when I heard this glorious sound coming from the basement. dum dum, dum dum, dum dum, dum dum. Immediately I knew what it was. My son was playing Crazy Train on his bass. He had some crazy effect on it from his new Digitech thingy he got for his birthday, and he was killin' it! lol! He loves his new toy and he's playing more now than ever - loudly I might add. lol! Mama says you go boy!
Stevee T, I think you're notified 3 or 4 days before the show by email if you won, and you can keep a check on the road page. Click on the "a" next to the show you're attending and it will say at the top of the page who the winners are. You pick your passes up at the will call window. Make sure you take proper I.D.
