I found some Spandex trousers!!!!! Check these out...
Clarky - Sorry I didn't take your call on your Friday; I was in a music law and contracts lecture... If you tried phoning at all over the weekend then I would have missed it too, because I've been bloody busy! I was up in London on Friday night playing Bohemian Rhapsody at my borther's Uni, then yesterday was my mum's 50th birthday and we had a shite load of family over from Northern Ireland that she hasn't seen in a good while. We all went out for a meal last night as well, and I ate far too much, on top of consuming far too much champagne and Stella... lmao. She didn't know about any of it either!!!
Thanks for the tips though. From what I've heard, the POD XT-Pro is well worth the money (about £380). I tried one at Anderton's in Guildford and I managed to coax a good few sounds out of it that I really liked, even in the twenty minutes I had with it. I reckon if I had an hour or two with it I could program some pretty nifty patches... I also found out that the Randall power amp is about £850, and that's probably a bit too much for now, so it looks like I'll go with the Marshall 50/50. The EL84 20/20 looks nice too, but I doubt it'll quite have the balls for the job I want it to do.

Hi Joe, I will be in Columbus for your show on the 27th. I can't wait!!!! Been a fan since SURFING came out and have ALWAYS wanted to see you and now finally get my chance. Too bad its a 5 hour drive but it well worth it. Will have to see you again when you are close so I can take the wife. She was a little upset that I chose to go with one of my friends instead of her!!

Alice was awsome. He had a sword full of money that he gave to the crowd, he got a python around his neck, he cut his daughters neck one stage, they got their rowdies to dress up as muggers and attack the guitarists on stage.
Alice Cooper and Joe Satriani are now the best shows i've ever seen.

delfino "chicken picking" is usually a fast country style finger picking technique that fills space with rhythmic contrapuntal accents. sometimes the thumb and fingers trade off playing, sometimes they play together (blocked chords/raking), and sometimes they are playing independant rhythms.
i think this is the same thing as "travis" picking, though i'm really not sure on that one.

Slansh, Scotty and Brent Mason are great. Albert Lee was good in his time. The Hellecasters were monsters, but DCK does not lie, this new kid Johnny Hiland is the REAL deal.. You'all gotta check him out now hear!!!!! Apparently the first time this kid hit the "Ole Opry" stage the crowd was awestruck and dumbfounded into total silence for several seconds before giving him a several minute standing ovation.....

PhryDom, yeah DVD is a great way to store your stuff, especially for archiving audio samples.
jelly man, hehe no worries mate. I was checking out new screenshots of Halo 2 today....it looks f*ck*n awesome. I can't wait for that. I think we could see stiff competion between Halo and Half Life! watch this space I suppose!
Does anybody have any advice for teaching guitar to beginners? I got a call from a 13 year old boy this evenin asking about guitar lessons, and if I start teaching him, I'd appreciate anything anyone has to suggest! All I know is that teaching beginners can be a lot harder than you'd think!
Suzie, what do you make of G3 Denver then? I thought it was ok - vai's set was immensely cool, Yngwie got kinda tiresome but it's not a bad DVD. Do you have the G3 '96 DVD with Eric Johnson? If not, get it, it's incredible!
I've had a couple of people bid on my Jem! Yay! So probably no trip to london after all. It's at 870 quid at the moment.....criminal, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Damn cookie dough!

Hi all:
I'm a first timer to the forum but hear me out - just bought Joe's anthology 2 disc set yesterday and it is awesome!! I threw it on with my Windows MP with the visual set to "Battery: Cominatchya". I threw on "not of this earth" - the visual was perfect - give it a try. By the way Joe, when ya gonna make yer way back to Canada - I saw ya this summer and the show really cooked - ya gotta get back soon!!

962 - bah, you only say that about halo 2 because of the soundtrack including music by everyone's favourite guitar doctor...
i've played a fair bit of multiplayer halo on x-boxes and although it's my favourite fps on those, i simply can't stand using gamepads for fpses- mouse and keyboard ALL the way...
as for the PC version... I dunno... it's the gameplay and storyline from HL2 that attract me more than the graphics anyway... i'll probably tone the graphics down reasonably low to get kickass performance on mine (2.1Ghz 512 RAM 128MP Radeon 9200)...
