Went to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater show in Fl on OCT 9th. The show was fantastic. I also had purchased the Platinum tickets so I got to meet the man himself. Great show, great job,I can't wait to get the pictures back! Money well spent.

Michelle,
You seem to be very informed!
Do you happen to know how many people on the average get picked for after show passes?
Thanks for the knowledge, and hopes of meeting Joe S. again!

JBLAZE: I agree about the JSX. However, few of the tracks or solos on ITLIS were actually the JSX. I think the most notable ex of the JSX on that album are the solo in Hands in the Air and I think...I like the rain. Most of the other tunes were the cornford, wells, Bassman, a marshall on lifestyle, and a soldano on the solo to Gnaah. I think the reason the tones still don't have the warm vibe is because Joe is using those Palmer Speaker simulators to go direct. To my ears they are harsh. I record my amp direct with a Hughes and Kettner Red Box Pro, and I think I'm getting much warmer tones than what I hear out of the Palmer. However, this might not be so much the case, because Joe miced up the JSX on Searching....one of the worst tones on the album. I don't think anything about the JSX is superior tonally however. The clean sounds antiseptic, and all of the drive channels have the percussive bass woof that has no finesse even when you turn down. I don't know, I guess you get antsy after a while amd can't leave well enough alone.....
Alexandre: That guitar presentation looks good man! I love it that you even put in a little self promotion at the end! I can't believe I forgot to do this at the clinic I presented. Man I'm such a dope for not conveying that I was available to teach lessons and other stuff haha!

I think the difference is - but I am not sure - with the platinum you get to get back stage, get to be right in front of the stage, get t-shirt, get photo taken with joe, and can get in a little early.
With Gold, you get to get close, but not as close as platinum and no guarantee that you will get back stage.

While "flying" down the road yesterday (10 miles over the limit), a woman passed over a bridge only to find a cop with a radar gun on the other side lying in wait.
The cop pulled her over, walked up to the car, and with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, "What's your hurry?"
To which she replied, "I'm late for work."
"Oh yeah," said the cop, "what do you do?"
"I'm a rectum stretcher," she responded.
The cop stammered, "A what? A rectum stretcher? And just what does a rectum stretcher do?"
Well," she said, "I start by inserting one finger, then I work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in. I work from side to side until I can get both hands in, and then I slowly but surely stretch, until it's about 6 feet wide."
"And just what the hell do you do with a 6 foot asshole?" he asked.
"You give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge..."
Traffic Ticket $95.00
Court Costs. $45.00
The Look on Cop's Face. PRICELESS!

Happy Birthday Clarky!......What does that make you....12 years old going on 40?...lol....
I hate to be negative but ever since I have known about VOX from the 80's, I have been a little weary of getting anything made by Vox.They have always come across to me as being cheap junk.....20 years ago I tried a Vox Amp & put it down in less than 10 seconds. They may have come a long way since then & had moved up to effects.I did check out the Tone Lab & it had some cool tones & distortions but not good enough to make me run out & buy one. The price was rediculous too. What really impressed me was the LINE 6 POD Pro 2.0
Charo for G3!

Just a random question outa curosity.... Your show in Nashville on the 28th i believe Ill be attending with some friends one of which ships out with the Navy soon. Is it possible usually to kinda request a song during that show for em. (Wanted to see if maybe the TopGun theme song deal could be played) just a long shot but I had to ask.

Hey Joe,
Like the rest of the ppl here, I'm a huge fan of yours and you are my favorite guitarist. I'm going to your show at the Beacon Theater this Saturday, the 16th. This is also going to be my 1st concert ever. I'm real excited about going, I can't begin to even describe it. And that means a lot because I race cars, and there's nothing more exciting, but I think going to my 1st concert, and it being you, just makes it that much more sweet. I'm sitting near the front 2 which will make the experience better as well. Can't wait to see you. Take care.

Doh, it seems that I 'won' aftershow passes to a show that I never went to, or recall really entering for. Will that hurt my chances for the show in colombus, one that I do plan on attending? Please say it won't hurt the chances, if the webmaster can email me confirming this or soemone telling me this that would be great. If I am 'removed' from the list and from a chance of winning, please don't allow this webmaster, i do have the tickets and I will be there.

DCK, I already gotta couple of Todd Duane cd's... Another one of those "too genius for me" dudes!!! What is cool about Jarzombek is that once again, he is a one man show all the instruments and recording etc himself, another sick minded quirky dude, just the way you like them!! LMAO..
SOTD, Afunkadiddle by Todd Duane from "Guitar on the Edge" Volume 1.
All you shredders out there, if you EVER see any of those old Guitar on the Edge samplers(1992-1994) out there snap em up they have the first recordings by a lot of cool dudes....

Hi everyone... I was away for the weekend, so I'm playing catch-up...
Phred - No, I don't think Joe will make a DVD with Deep Purple. As far as I know, they only jammed together once on this past tour (on September 4 in Los Angeles). I was there, and I didn't see cameras other than the ones used for the video screens.
vaiguy247 - When Joe played Devil's Slide and Borg Sex live, he used a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal.
On the album, the distortion was probably created by Eric Caudieux and Pro Tools.
jdavis102 - I could come up with an equally long list of questions about the Democratic Party, and I'm not even a Republican.
I will comment on two questions, though.
"Can you explain to me how bush became president despite his obviouslack of intellect, not even in comparison with his not overly brightfather."
Like every other president, he received the required number of electoral college votes. Is there another answer you were looking for?
"Why did Arnold decide to call the economically disparate, "economic girly-men", a phrase both blatantly sexist, and stupid."
Why should Arnold's use of that phrase be a surprise to anyone, when he used lines from his movies throughout his campaign? Further, why criticize him when there are shows such as Queer Eye For The Straight Guy on television? Isn't that title just as offensive?
TommyShag - There are no plans to further organize this message board. This is a rather unique format, and I think it works well.
dragonchild - I only recognize about half of the songs on your mix CD, but it sounds pretty cool. :-)
I still haven't finished that mix CD that I was working on over the summer...LOL.
Templar - Welcome back. :-)
jazzzzzzzy - "I get really pissed when I see Republicans offering condolences for Christopher Reeve, a very strong supporter of stem cell research."
Perhaps they offered condolences because he happened to be a very famous actor?
Inrocknito - Hi...welcome to the site.
Joe currently uses Peavey amps, but he has used Marshalls for most of his career. Try buying a Boss DS-1 pedal (made in Japan). That will help, but you have to remember that most of Joe's tone is in his fingers.
Monster Zero - "The median wage for a waiter was about $6.80 an hour; for a cashier it was $7.41 an hour. That points to the need for the federal minimum wage to be raised from its current $5.15 an hour to ensure those in such positions can support their families, researchers said."
I disagree.
Why should someone expect to support a family while doing nothing more than waiting tables or working a cash register? Those jobs should be there for people like myself, who need money to pay for college or for high school kids who need to pay for car insurance, and so on. These should be short-term jobs. They should not be lifelong careers.
People should not have kids when they are not financially prepared to support them, and then expect the government to raise minimum wage so they can make ends meet.
Stevee T - Three winners are picked per show. Each winner receives a pair of passes.
MikeSpears83 - Steve Stevens, not Joe Satriani, did the Top Gun theme.
...Austin...
