Hey Joe,
Like the rest of the ppl here, I'm a huge fan of yours and you are my favorite guitarist. I'm going to your show at the Beacon Theater this Saturday, the 16th. This is also going to be my 1st concert ever. I'm real excited about going, I can't begin to even describe it. And that means a lot because I race cars, and there's nothing more exciting, but I think going to my 1st concert, and it being you, just makes it that much more sweet. I'm sitting near the front 2 which will make the experience better as well. Can't wait to see you. Take care.

Doh, it seems that I 'won' aftershow passes to a show that I never went to, or recall really entering for. Will that hurt my chances for the show in colombus, one that I do plan on attending? Please say it won't hurt the chances, if the webmaster can email me confirming this or soemone telling me this that would be great. If I am 'removed' from the list and from a chance of winning, please don't allow this webmaster, i do have the tickets and I will be there.

DCK, I already gotta couple of Todd Duane cd's... Another one of those "too genius for me" dudes!!! What is cool about Jarzombek is that once again, he is a one man show all the instruments and recording etc himself, another sick minded quirky dude, just the way you like them!! LMAO..
SOTD, Afunkadiddle by Todd Duane from "Guitar on the Edge" Volume 1.
All you shredders out there, if you EVER see any of those old Guitar on the Edge samplers(1992-1994) out there snap em up they have the first recordings by a lot of cool dudes....

Hi everyone... I was away for the weekend, so I'm playing catch-up...
Phred - No, I don't think Joe will make a DVD with Deep Purple. As far as I know, they only jammed together once on this past tour (on September 4 in Los Angeles). I was there, and I didn't see cameras other than the ones used for the video screens.
vaiguy247 - When Joe played Devil's Slide and Borg Sex live, he used a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal.
On the album, the distortion was probably created by Eric Caudieux and Pro Tools.
jdavis102 - I could come up with an equally long list of questions about the Democratic Party, and I'm not even a Republican.
I will comment on two questions, though.
"Can you explain to me how bush became president despite his obviouslack of intellect, not even in comparison with his not overly brightfather."
Like every other president, he received the required number of electoral college votes. Is there another answer you were looking for?
"Why did Arnold decide to call the economically disparate, "economic girly-men", a phrase both blatantly sexist, and stupid."
Why should Arnold's use of that phrase be a surprise to anyone, when he used lines from his movies throughout his campaign? Further, why criticize him when there are shows such as Queer Eye For The Straight Guy on television? Isn't that title just as offensive?
TommyShag - There are no plans to further organize this message board. This is a rather unique format, and I think it works well.
dragonchild - I only recognize about half of the songs on your mix CD, but it sounds pretty cool. :-)
I still haven't finished that mix CD that I was working on over the summer...LOL.
Templar - Welcome back. :-)
jazzzzzzzy - "I get really pissed when I see Republicans offering condolences for Christopher Reeve, a very strong supporter of stem cell research."
Perhaps they offered condolences because he happened to be a very famous actor?
Inrocknito - Hi...welcome to the site.
Joe currently uses Peavey amps, but he has used Marshalls for most of his career. Try buying a Boss DS-1 pedal (made in Japan). That will help, but you have to remember that most of Joe's tone is in his fingers.
Monster Zero - "The median wage for a waiter was about $6.80 an hour; for a cashier it was $7.41 an hour. That points to the need for the federal minimum wage to be raised from its current $5.15 an hour to ensure those in such positions can support their families, researchers said."
I disagree.
Why should someone expect to support a family while doing nothing more than waiting tables or working a cash register? Those jobs should be there for people like myself, who need money to pay for college or for high school kids who need to pay for car insurance, and so on. These should be short-term jobs. They should not be lifelong careers.
People should not have kids when they are not financially prepared to support them, and then expect the government to raise minimum wage so they can make ends meet.
Stevee T - Three winners are picked per show. Each winner receives a pair of passes.
MikeSpears83 - Steve Stevens, not Joe Satriani, did the Top Gun theme.
...Austin...

Hey Joe I'm A first timer on here and am a huge fan. I've been playing guitar for a year now and before then Ihad never heard of you before and now I can't go a day without hearin' Satch Boogie at least 5 times. Pretty soon I'm getting your signature Ibanez. Which do you prefer? The JS100,JS1000,JS1200, or the JS2000. And in what color?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARKY!!
Alexandre, hiya honey! Today I bought the new Dream Theater DVD, but haven't had a chance to watch it. Hopefully I will see it tomorrow. Also bought Korns Greatest Hits Vol. 1. Whoa baby did that get my blood flowing! I haven't heard the entire cd, but it's kickass and it sounds killer in my new car :) I keep repeating song #3 - Y'All Want A Single. I love it!! lol! Best of luck to you on your workshop my friend.
Stevee T, 3 people get picked for the backstage passes, and each person gets 2 passes for a total of 6 passes handed out. It's all on the road page bro. Click on the "a" next to the shows and it will show you what I mean. If you click on the "p", you will see pictures from the shows (which aren't up yet), and "r" is to read the reviews from each show. You'll catch on once you've been here for a while.
Suzie, yesterday was bad, wasn't it. I wound up kicking the crap out of my innocent laundry basket and throwing a small, quiet hissy fit in the basement just to let off some steam. lol! How retarded, right? I did feel a smidge better when I was done. lol! Today was a bit better. I was in a semi-crappy mood, so I went out to buy some music. The new Korn cd cheered me up so much that instead of coming right home from the record store, I happily went grocery shopping! Crazy, isn't it. lol! Grocery shopping isn't my favorite thing to do anymore. I had a smile from ear to ear too! It was like somebody slipped me a mickey or something! I've actually been in a good mood ever since! lol!
JOE, SEE YOU THURSDAY!!

I have been rather pissed off at things too.Can I come over & kick the laundry basket with you?..lol..(1)My tax papers were not done on time(I never thought I would be glad to file tax's..lol..) so I can't go to school until I get them.(2)I have called my accountant many times for him to get back with me & he never has.(3)The school has made no attemp to find me an apartment down in Fla...I have left many messages for them to call me.They haven't..(4)My school admission officer has made no attemp to get back to me about re-scheduling to November. As a result,I have lost 350 dollars for registration that I paid upfront. If you don't make it to school for opening day they cancel your seat & you lose your class & your money.(5)The Ford dealer continues to rape me on fixing my truck.368 dollars for a goddamn tune up.What tha fuck..(6)Just about the only good thing is I have a roll of Pillsbury Chocolate chip cookies waiting to be eaten raw!:).........Is there any more crap that can pile on to an already unpleasant situation!!?...............

Michelle- lol!
I've been having bad dreams for the last two nights as well, waking up every hour or so...grrr.
Kicking the crap out of the laundry basket or squashing some empty coke cans etc, things like that are a very good idea I would say!
It was very windy yesterday, maybe this didn't help me, I'm not sure?Or maybe it was a full moon.
Here's to better moods today! And less crap to put up with. My boss could be off sick today, you never know your luck!

Joe, please come to Guam!!!! I know that it is a dot in the Pacific but you could put on a great show here and all of Guam would be there. I love my JS2000. Just wrote an awesome tune and recorded it today. I was inspired by Hands in the air. I love making music. The mixolydian scale is so nice sounding. Joe thanks for the tips on pitch axis theory. I use it all of the time and it is so cool! The possibilities are endless!!! Keep rocking T2J ers out there!! God bless

Stace, juju, optical, jblaze, Michelle - thanks for the birthday wishes.....
this year, I will mostly be 9 and 3/4
optical - the next part in the studio is to get the boys into playing more....
jblaze - I don't know why, but Vox have never done it for me either....
when I think Vox, I also think Rickenbacker guitars with the funny triangle shaped sound holes... which makes be think of a scratchy and tinny tone... mods, scooters, spotty 17 year olds in 2 tone suits wrapped in huge parkers with a bulls-eye sewn on the back...
they need to die..

Hey Joe,
I am really looking forward to your concert next week here in Detroit, MI. I haven;t seen you since 2001 at G3 in Orlando, and I am looking very forward to meeting you in person! You have been a hero of mine for years (and I envy Galen his job), and this is going to be the concert experience of my life. See you next week!

Clarky, re Rickenbacker, amazing isn't it that they could for quite a period of time secure the rock bass market with what I presume was a more "lead" bass oriented sound (think Squire, Entwhistle and Geddy Lee) and playability yet their six and twelves always felt cheap, flimsy and produced the jangly tinny tone you referred to!!! (think Byrds and Tom Petty). Pete Townshend only used em to break up on stage, (one nice feature was that they broke up quite nicely and easily) he only developed a seriously crunchy tone when he went on to Strats Teles and ultimately Gibson SG's....
When I think of Rick's nowadays I think girl band... Bangles, Jangles, you get the picture......

Clarky - Happy birthday! I had no idea... Here's a question for you though: Do you would it be better to get a solid state power amp, rather than a valve one? Won't the presence of the valves colour the signal from the POD a bit? I have the same approach as you - all I want the power amp to do is take the sound of the POD and make it a hell of a lot louder... This was just a thought I had on the boring train journey from Hastings to Guildford, so I may well have been delirious at the time!!! lol
