michelle and jblaze- i know this will sound silly, but when i get in those fighting, kick the crap out of the basket moods i find the best way to calm down, and this quickest is by listening to the music of vince guaraldi... its impossible to be mad when you have the background for charlie brown playing... :) although sometimes kicking the basket until the sides cave in can be very therapeutic! lol...

24fom- welcome back....

well off to do more studying for midterms, hope yall have a good day!

Mr Nick, anything DT must be hard to play. Hell it's hard to follow along in your head sometimes! lol!

juju, no disrespect to Vince, but that would probably irritate me more. lol! I like to listen to heavier music when I get in a mood. I popped the Korn cd in my car, and the third song was Y'all Want A Single. It's a precious sing-along kind of ditty. Any time I can sing along and throw down the F* bomb, I'm a happy camper. lol! Sometimes it's the little things that mean so much :) Happy studying!

RICHO, Merry Axemas 2 came out in 1998. That's old "new" new on that site bro.

Hello !

I'm recording a version of the Rite of Spring only with guitars, trying to imitate the sounds of a complete orchestra (reeds, woods, strings and percussion). I'd really like to send an extract to Joe, I'm sure he will like it. But I don't know how !!! (I'm new on the list).

Can somebody give me a clue ?

Friendly, from France, Beedoo (Brice Delage)

mikesb - lol.. yeah... before making such a crass and sweeping statement about Ricks.. the 4000 series bass did cross my mind... I think they sound great.. they look really cool.. and I love 'em... I'm a huge fan of Squire...

but then... you'd never jack such a lovely thing into a Vox... lmao...

yoda - thanx for the happy B-day bro.......

amps... when I talk about 'clean' tone... I'm mostly interested that the amp isn't adding any over-drive, reverb etc etc...
right now, my amp is MOSFET [solid state]
the amp I'd like [the EL34 100/100] is valve

I have no preference to solid state or valve...
my only requirement is that the amp is nice and clean and sounds great...
of course you choice of head and cab will colour the sound... how can it not... a 4x12 cab will sound quite different to a 1x12 cab...

all you need is a nice amp that can stay clean at high volumes and a nice pair of 4x12 cabs [or 2x12 cabs if you prefer them]
also, some amps sound thin at low volumes and don't start working nice until they're hitting the 1/2 way mark...
what you need is flexibility and quality...

I think that all this stuff about the superiority of valves is a myth started in the 1970's....
amps are either great or not irrespective of what they are made out of...
your ears will be the judge
you have a great ear... trust it..
and don't let some shop-keeper try to blind you with bullshit
especially given that they most likely know absolutely fuck all about electronics and accoustic physics

when you come to mine....
I'll power up my rig... 2120-->8008-->pair of 4x12 cabs..
we'll give it large and see what you think...

Nick - "jblaze and clarky...personal preference really...although i need to try it out before deciding on it."

are you refering to bald muffins verses natural ones???

by all means... try out as many as you can...

Depfino / cuthbert - thanx for the happy b-day bros..

michelle - "yesterday was bad, wasn't it. I wound up kicking the crap out of my innocent laundry basket and throwing a small, quiet hissy fit in the basement"

I thought that was going to be followed by something like "EWWW!!! I saw a HUGE spider."... ;-)

Also, yeah...the DT DVD is AWESOME. I made it through the first hour and 53 minutes on Monday. I'll hopefully be able to finish watching it today...

jazzzzzzzy - Yes, I've heard about Katherine Harris. She followed laws that were in place at the time. She refused to extend deadlines when she had the power to do so. Do you think she did something else?
hi6hl4nd3r - You have to use your real name if you want to win the passes. If you don't want us to know your name, go into your preferences and uncheck the box that says "Share your info with others".
Clarky - Happy belated birthday...

First off, as I said I'm going to the columbus show and hope to get aftershow passes. If any 2 guitarist could write a album, who would it be? I know a lot of people will say Joe and Steve and thats cool, because any fan of the two of them have been waiting for that to happen for a long time. Mid terms today, gonna have to get throught that.

Jazzy: I'll be wearing whatever that free satch t shirt is that comes with the poor-folk Gold Package on the 21st. Ill be there by myself in aspiration of either winning the backstage passes or gettin' invited to the meet and greet. On the 23rd I'll be wearing some type of pimped out outfit 'cause I'll be there with my ex-girlfreind trying to win her back. Maybe I'm getting somewhere with her, she invited me over yesterday. And I went. ......... bark, bark.

I'll look for you.

Hi Joe,

I'm willing to ask you when you're coming back to Belgium? A couple years ago at the age of 14 I attended one of your gigs and I was overwhelmed, you immediately became my number one idol.

I'm attending guitar lessons for 5-6 years now and try to live up to everything they say or teach me. Gear: Ibanez JS100 ( fabulous guitar ! )

CLARKY- That's pretty good stuff on amp's and cab's, I have A 4-10, That Is "homemade" with radio shack speakers, The total wattage is from and old peavey 80's head, With almost no FX,s I mean old!...The series name is gone...and that has A 150 watt peak range, We got it to sound pretty decent(clean, No humm or distortion) with monster cables and new rewiring, and My GT-6 procsesser. This is My 1st amp and cab...But I hope to uprade to A 4-12 with celestion's, I find I dont have A preference when it comes to "tube" anolog, Whatever...Because they each have there brilliance and clarity, And up's and downs...What do You think of RANDALL amp's and cab's or maybe even rouge...W/ decent speakers?....And prop's up to You and the Kid's! What style and Music do they like and Play?..........................DCK- I am doing alright, But Depressed a lot lately, Seem's it I dont want to try anymore, Sometimes...ANYWAY, It will pass.....Also dont worry! When it is the right time You will complete Your project and it will be well worht the effort!........................BAUDUH- Thank's for the e-mail, I am glad Your alright! that cyberspace with the comp.s over there is messing thing's up! Hurry back When You get The comps. working!...............ATN-HI.....................DELFINO- How are thing's?.....OVATION1- i know Your not on here anymore, But just in case You drop in A BIG FAT WARM FUZZY, DELAYED HI-Hi.hi.hi.......Steven.

Hey all--- I want to throw this out there, and see the response. I have attended 3 Satch shows, including a G3 show, in 2000, 2002, and 2003. In the past 2 shows, the volume was REALLY loud (espiecially at the G3 show). In fact, it was TOO loud! Both times my friend complained about it to me, and most people around me had earplugs in their ears. It was so loud that I couldn't hear the intricacies or subtleties of the guitar, which is what I came for! All I could hear was the bass guitar. Although the shows were still REALLY enjoyable, I hope the upcoming show at the beacon that i am going to will not overwhelm me!

what do you guys think about this ??

do the stu: The problem with Katherine Harris is that a majority of the voters were not even proven guilty. I dont know if it is a law to barre someone from voting before they are proven guilty (cuthbert?). Some of the "guilty" were apparently prosecuted in the future. For example the data had some prosecution dates dating to 2007. 2007? Not possible. More than half of the voters were Black. More than 90% were democrats. There were more than 35,000 names. Bush did not win the majority in the electoral vote. Isnt it convenient when your brother is the governer of Florida at the very moment? I personally believe Bush should have never stepped into the Oval Office.

I got my sources from Greg Palast's The Best Democracy Money can Buy. I believe a CBS report was aired about this.

"What an impressive crowd: the haves, and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite, I call you my base."
-George W.

Edit: Katherine Harris is kinda hot actually. I wouldnt mind seeing her in Playboy's Conservative Beauties edition. I hope they add some blonde fruitcakes from Fox News too.

achoo: I hope Satch impresses your woman enough that she hooks up with you again. Well, a gold pass aint cheap! The best date could not be better than taking a girl out to a Satriani concert.

yunger 2 : I agree with you about the volume being a little "loud" at times. Actualy It's not the volume that is so loud. It's the theaters crappy P.A that make the whole event sound like shit. Every different theater has thier own set of speakers that project whats comming out of the amps and mics to the rest of the the concert goers. I.e. people in the cheap seats.

achoo: I am sure Joe will be polite enough if he spots you. He's a very sweet person. Heck, If by Gods grace I win backstage passes, I will hand one to you. I had won passes to the show in Minneapolis. I handed it to the first dude I saw in sight. He was with his girlfriend. During the show, I think the guy got hammered and his girlfriend got the pass while this dude disappeared (probably went to get more beer....it was a Deep Purple show; there were more mullets than anyone could ever handle). Everyone was cool so it was a fun time.
