962- did you get your new guitar yet?

Michelle- PAIN!!! Your post brought it all back to me... I did my knee in during an embarrassing incident on an ice-rink involving me colliding with somebody, falling over, twisting my leg round about what felt like 360 degrees and then screaming blue bloody murder! I have never felt such pain. As soon as it popped back though, the pain stopped almost immediately. When I went to hospital though, the doctor told me I had just sprained it- and then a few days later I was at school and my leg just gave way- and I ripped even more tendons... Sorry everyone for this manky story. It took a long time to get better thanks to this, but now quite a few years later (being careful not to reveal my age... oh so what I'm 32!) although it doesn't lock straight like yours, I get the odd painful twinge- especially in the damp autumn/winter months we get in England!! Hope your leg doesn't hurt you too badly at Joe's concert at least! :-)

I got the strings on my telecaster now, the action is slightly higher than last time, but that goes without saying really with a higher gauge of strings. I'm kinda' poor at the moment...as in flat-broke and I am in no way confident enough to adjust the truss on my own like OCPS470 said. So I'm going to take it to a music shop, I got quoted by 3 at about £20...is that good? and should I take the strings off in the mean time?

For the first time today, I decided to watch Yngwie's set all the way through, on the G3 Denver DVD. I've never seen it all before cause I usually get bored round about the acoustic solo or Adaggio. Which means it wasn't until today that I saw the end of his set where he chucks his Strat high in the air twice, lets it slam onto the stage, before picking it up and smashing it around the corner of a monitor.

It was actually upsetting to watch! My respect was slowly growing for Yngwie, but seeing this made my respect for him take a swan-dive back to a few measley percent. What twat.

Joe, I sincerely hope you never get Yngwie back on G3 again....he's savage!

I then watched G3 96 to make myself feel better, and I realised even more than before how great a job Eric Johnson did. Of all the G3 collaborations I've seen, the JS/SV/EJ collaboration works best.

Jelly Man, my SA1260 arrived from GAK today! funny thing - they called yesterday to tell me they were going to dispatch it on tuesday, but then realised there's a small chip in the finish on the tip of the lower limb, and they couldn't dispatch it without letting me know first. They said I could wait in line for a new one or just take the slightly damaged one with "some goodies" by their way of saying sorry! I took the latter. Guitar arrived with 4 packs of strings made by a company I never heard of, and also with a gibson strap and guitar-care kit, a capo and a braided cable!

hehe, GAK rock - their service/quality consistency is pretty apalling but you get a lot of shit for your money! At least it was what I expected!

michelle, enjoy the show!
Jared, yeah I'd say hanging around afterwards is the best bet - Joe has to leave the venue at some point!
Delfino, after your comments on Fable, I looked at it on amazon this morning. Saw your review, and others.....That's cool that characters in the game age while your gone! It sounds kinda cool
Suzie, yeah I got the SA today! It's sweet. It needs to be played in for the hardware to settle, but the neck is really nice and the mahogany body sounds really fat and warm. I really want to get some better pickups in there - stock Ibanez are not the best, but then they're not the worst! hehe. It's really comfortable too, the body feels more compact and organic than the RG-type bodies, I love it!

I respect your descision on getting a Solid State amp but I would highly recommend saving your money & getting a tube amp.I have been battling solid state amps to get a good sharp chop in all aspects of playing for years. You just can't achieve that with solid state.I've had many of them & really need to jump in with the team for the big win also.Right now I have a Kustom 100 W HD solid state head with a 4x12 cab.It has phenominal tones but doesn't have that sharp chop that I know I can get from tubes. However,Solid State's are much cheaper & it was all I could afford at the time because my old one took a giant crap on me.My ultimate choice would have been a Mesa DR...I am still going to get one. The Kustom I have now is good but I really wish I had a tuber...think about it for a while:)

Clarky:We laugh for hours when we talk about the Rat Trap gig.Your right,it was insane but that's what a few beers & a joint will do to ya:)...goddamn kids on dope!...lol.

Joe, no sooner did I get back from seeing you in Atlanta and I was getting tickets to see you again in Raleigh! This "evening with" tour is amazing! Thank you! Hats off to Matt, Galen, and of course Jeff! I miss Mr. Hamm but I have to say, Matt is an outstanding player and I admire his enthusiasm and interaction with the audience, especially the kids. He's AOK! You can be proud to know that I have successfully converted my girlfriend and her daughter into official Satch fans with last night's performance at the Lincoln :) You inspired me as always, and I appreciate the efforts you and your crew put forward to make these road tours so awesome.
By the way, do you ever make it back up to Woodstock, NY? When I was a teenager I heard a rumor that you recorded at Bearsville Sound Studios from time to time, and my friend and I spent every weekend for 2 years (little exaggeration) walking around the village hoping to spot you :)
I love your red guitars! Very smooth... Seeya around Joe!

Hi everyone...I'm new here but not a stranger to playing, I'm kinda wondering why I never see many if any Canadian dates on Joe's tours. I still haven't seen him in concert and I really want to soon. If anyone here has an answer or knows if he will be in Canada anytime soon please let me know

Jazzy, check the review from Oct. 8th at HOB by JimE. He has two of the titles wrong, but it'a a pretty good rundown of the songs. I'll probably be to excited to even remember the song titles as Joe plays them. LOL!

Suzie, at least I could squirm in the privacy of my own home. lol! I don't think I ripped any tendons? Did you have surgery to repair them, or just rest and recoup? My husband had fingernail marks in his arm for about a week afterwards. It's the first thing I grabbed when my knee went. lol! It should be fine tonight. Joe makes all that stuff somehow disappear :) At 32 you're just a pup. lol! I just had my 40th b-day in August. It wasn't as bad as I thought, and it's actually a cool number. I was even thinking about getting a license plate that read F U 4 T, but I didn't. lol! In case somebody is having a hard time, it means F* you forty :) I figured I didn't want to put a negative whammy on this decade, so I best not mess with it. lol!

962, I certainly will! Thanks!

Mater Yoda: you can go on www.carvin.com to check out ther power amps. I think that amp I mentioned is now called the DC150 to match the names of their other bigger power amps. JAZZY: I'm a Florida resident, and the problems that occurred woth excon's voting rights not being reinstated is something that would be evident in any state, if it came down to a close election......and to be quite frank, I really don't have a problem with it! If you commit a crime, I don't give a crap if you lose your voting rights. I think it's actually a good idea to prevent fellons or exfellons (those just itching to get back to a jail sell) from participating in the future of our country. I don't think that a criminal and myself should have equal rights.....sorry. And another thing, it's no indicaor of some hoaky conspiracy for a Governor (even one that is related to a Pres candidate) to gaurantee a state's votes for his brother. It's no different than saying you have confidence that the voters will vote republican. That's all this was.....because it's a fact that in recent history, FL is a tad more republicn than other parties. So now that we cleared that up, would you like to resend your assertion that the moon landing was faked?

Clarky - Believe me; if money were no issue I'd love to shop around and just buy what I like. But unfortunately at the moment I'm a bit strapped for cash and my gear is mostly fucked with the exception of my guitars so I need a replacement before RECOIL can get out gigging again (although we also need to find a new singer...). So the cheaper option is far preferable for now, since I'll be able to get it quicker!!! lol

JBlaze - The main reason behind the SS choice is the fact that I don't want the power amp to affect the signal from the preamp (Line 6 POD XT Pro) in any way - all I want it to do is make it bigger. And I know that valves most likely will colour the signal a bit. I'm not doing the half stack thing; I'm doing the rack thing, so I have to approach it slightly differently.

OCPS- Okay, cheers for the tip!

Ocps: I disagree. Ex-Felons are equal rights citizens. If you base their voting rationale on the crimes they had comitted in the past, then you better disregard all the illiterate and high school dropout population because how are we supposed to trust their intelligence when it comes to choosing a president. There can be a million psychopaths roaming the streets, would you deny their rights? How are you going to distinguish these people and the felons? What gifted previledge do they have that gives them the right to vote? I feel what Katherine Harris did was legally and morally wrong. Btw, how can there be more than a 1000 felons who were prosecuted between 2005 and 2007? Lets ask that question to CBT? As for landing on the moon, I cannot assure you whether we did or not (could have been faked, you know???). I dont believe everything I see on TV. Might be one hell of a conspiracy. You may never know. Politicians are dirty.

962- I know what you mean about Yngwie in one way, I suppose you either love him or hate him. Although I'm not a great fan of the hair etc / waving the Strat about, I LOVE his music. I have a great album "Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar" which is fantastic. I thought on the DVD that Joe and Steve showed Yngwie a great deal of respect though.

Still haven't got the G3 DVD with Eric Johnson, but I'm working on it!

Your new guitar sounds good- hope you enjoy it!

Michelle, yes I envy you for dislocating your knee in your house instead of an ice-rink! lol! Not that it would help the pain though- I didn't really notice who was looking at me screaming! It was all a bit of a blur...

I didn't have surgery, but I did have a plaster cast eventually which helped it heal / used crutches etc. The bad thing was, once the cast came off the muscles had really wasted away, so I had to do loads of exercises / physiotherapy for ages and ages afterwards. It did take a long time. Your poor husband's arm by the way - but I can totally understand that!

Joe's music does help in times of trouble, I agree!

I don't really care about age too, it's only numbers! However I did insist on only one candle on my birthday cake this year!Like the number plate idea though. :-) Take it easy.

Austin think Joe is planning to stay "off" the road for a longer than usual period when he finishes this tour?

A-Team the Movie is finally coming

The long in the works big-screen version of the 1980s action series The A-Team is moving closer to megaplexes.

The show's mastermind, Stephen J. Cannell, and The A-Team movie's home base, 20th Century Fox, have hired veteran James Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein to pen the script, the studio confirmed to E! Tuesday.

The film has been in development for years, but Cannell says that the project is now gaining momentum.

Zinc Master, I know how grumpy this sounds by the way, but I just wish they'd stop re-making these things...

Why can't new ideas be thought up instead of re-hashing things that should respectfully be left in the 60s / 70s / 80s..?

Or am I the only grumpster?

hi joe. i've been going to see you every time you're in boston for over 15 years. i discovered your music when I started playing guitar as a kid, and managed to get my dad hooked; going to the shows is a great time every year for the both of us.

but i digress. i have every album you've done, but still my favorite is Dreaming #11. i have never heard, live or recorded, such incredible energy in music as in tracks 2-4.

i'm wondering if you have any more recordings of that show from the California Theatre. be a great addition to this site, maybe iTunes or something.

i'd just love to hear what the rest of that show was like!

keep rockin joe!

You are right - it does come across grumpy, but understandable. I did not go see and have no intention of seeing the Starchy and Hutch movie. I have seen the Spiderman movies though - and in my opinion were pretty good (was a comic book and TV show).

It is a case by case situation - sometimes it is a good idea, but watching a Knight Rider movie doesn't sound that exciting to me, right now.

Bless you Satch your music has had such a pofound influence on my life and "Surfing.." and "Flying in a blue dream" seem to accompany all my memories from being 18 yrs old onwards (I'm 34 now!) almost like a soundtrack. Are you doing any U.K. shows this year or in 2005?? Best of luck with the new album, I've not heard it in full yet, but I plan to remedy that soon as. Peace!! Pete.G.

I have 5th row seats to Joe's show tonight at the Keswick Theater near Philly, PA, and I'm looking forward to rocking out and marveling at Joe's guitar mastery...

SATCH ROCKS!!!

I have never been to hear Joe in concert, but if it is anything close to his Live in San Fran, and G3 concerts it should be AWESOME!

I just had to share that, because I have been getting revved up about this show for weeks!

I hope my ears still work tomorrow...

Rock on people!!

Zinc Master- yes sorry about that grumpiness.

I haven't seen the new Starsky and Hutch film either - but I cannot stand Ben Stiller, so unfortunately haven't felt the urge to watch it. I did like the Spiderman film as well though- but not the Hulk re-make. I bought some of the old Hulk stuff on DVD recently, and remembered how they were so much better. I suppose the other odd one has to be Batman- they varied a lot in quality. I think Michael Keaton did the best job.

I did like X-Men- but translating comics to film isn't quite the same as re-making old programmes.

I agree- Knight Rider: The Movie sounds like a very bad idea- especially as David Hasselhoff would probably expect to still be includedl in the cast!
