Okay... I managed to listen to Jordan Rudess' Rhythm Of Time today. Wow. :-) I had VERY high expectations before listening to this, and I was still completely blown away.
A few comments for jelly man (and anyone else who has heard the album):
Time Crunch - I think this could've made a great Dream Theater song...so much so that it's almost a disappointment hearing it here. Don't get me wrong, though... This song ROCKS and is my favorite song on the album. Maybe DT will work parts of this into an Instrumedley sometime in the future...that would be cool.
I don't really have much to say about this song, but that's because I love everything about it. There are a lot of cool solos here...but really, everything stands out as being awesome.
Screaming Head - I really like the change that happens after the first minute and a half or so...cool stuff. The song is awesome, but it's not quite at the level of the first track. Satriani's solo is cool here. Most of his guest appearances sound odd to me because his guitar "stands out" too much. That isn't the case here, though. There are a lot of cool rhythms in this song...I actually found myself focusing on those more than the solos.
The textures in this song remind of Rick Wakeman's album, The Six Wives Of Henry VIII. Some of the other songs on this album remind me of that album as well.
Insectsamongus - This sounds like it could be a Steve Vai song...I actually think it would've been cooler to have him solo on it instead of Satriani. The guest solo here is really weird, but it sounds cool.
I love the groove at the end of the song here, under the second solo (the one that isn't played by Satch).
Beyond Tomorrow - The singing here is different, but I think it's better than Satch's vocal songs on ITLIS?... I hear a lot of DT-ish stuff with the vocals here.
There isn't a lot going on early in the song here, it's almost a letdown after the nonstop energy of the first few songs. The song picks up soon, though...and the solos here again remind me of Rick Wakeman.
Bar Hopping With Mr. Picky - This is another light, less-busy song...but like the previous track, it picks up fairly quickly. The bass parts throughout this song are very interesting, and Steve Morse's guitar parts are awesome.
This is the shortest song on the album. It's so short, it almost seems to stick out like a sore thumb...
What Four - This is another song that I can't really say much about...mainly because I like everything. This song has a lot of cool rhythms, most notably the ones before the big solo at the end of the song. Oh...the solo was cool, too. ;-)
Ra - This is one of the most interesting songs on the album... I think it would have fit nicely on LTE II. There are a lot of cool textures and layers here... Again, I don't have much more to say because I loved everything about it.
Tear Before The Rain - This is another vocal song, and I think it's a great way to close the album. I like the keys during the verses. I know I really shouldn't say what I'm about to say, but I can't help it... This song reminds me of Space-Dye Vest. I'm not saying JR ripped off Kevin Moore...all I'm saying is that listening to this song at the end of Rhythm Of Time gives me the same feelings I get when I listen to Space-Dye Vest at the end of Awake.
In closing, I feel like I should say Time Crunch was so cool that, after the album ended, I listened to the first 30 seconds of it again before I turned off my CD player. ;-)

My name is Elizabeth and my "good-friend," TIM WEBLEY, is a huge fan! You may remember signing his Steve Vai custom at the Tower Records here in Hoffman Estates... ...I even found him an autographed pic of you for him for christmas... ...I have bought tickets for us to see you OCT 22, at the House of Blues in Chicago...
Our relationship is a little undetermined at this time, and I was hoping if you could say a word or two about how "Once you find love, you shouldn't let it go " or something to that effect with his name -- it would show him how much I care and what I'm willing to go through for him -- which is needless to say, BEGGING you for a little help.
I'm sorry this message will be written everyday 'til the 22, since I'm not sure when or if you will even see this. Sorry for the annoyance.

I love getting more cds in the mail, its like Christmas, lol. Some more Hendrix, Gilmour, Frusciante, and Incubus to add to my collection. And I love it, I love it all!!
Do the Stu - hmm... I dont own many Hip cds, but I would recommend you start with "Up To Here". It's one of their first I think, and has some awesome tracks. Blow at High Doe and New Orleans is Sinking are my two personal favorite Hip songs. Plus it only costs about 9 bucks.
Michelle - thanks michelle, and lucky you! lol, that is really awesome... joe, metallica, and godsmack all in a week. That's so beautiful, I think I might cry... well maybe not, lol. Have a blast and a half!
off I go!

Hey there, hi there, ho there.....hehe! It's friday and I'm still
here! I survived my 3 shows in 4 days while getting sick in the beginning of the week! Imagine that! I almost made it 4 shows but I can't do it...even though it's Nuno Bettencourt! I'm ready to pass out!
I should be in bed but I just had to address Staryqte.
Staryqte: Elizabeth: Please, wake up girl. Do you really think if Joe does say anything that you are requesting it will change the way he (Tim Webley) feels about you? Get Real. Nothing
Joe says will fix your relationship. You need to get your feet on the ground and get some confidence / self esteem. No one
can fix something that's not working. Period. Trust me g/f. I spent ten (10) years in a relationship that was not working no matter how hard I tried, it didn't work! It was a waste of my time and life! I LOVED him very much! But NOTHING I did changed it to the way I wanted. Joe will not be able to change it for you either. You are wasting your time and energy. Life is short, move on! Please stop repeating your post, it's not going to happen. You deserve better! Go out and get it!
bahduh: Your reply to Starqte didn't need to be so offensive. That was really unnecessary, would you like to be spoken to that way? I don't think so.....Choose your words wisely. We all are tired of seeing that freakin post! ;-))
Clarky: You are just killing me with laughter! Thank you for being you! (Going Blind Organ Player) hehe! ROTFLMAO! I vote for
the woman as God intended (with a little edging) hehe! I'm glad to know that the guys prefer it that way. I was considering a change but I'm staying with what works the best. Good to know all these things Clarky. Thanks for your scientific research! I knew it all along but wondered if I should be doing something different. I'll stay just as God intended. Amen! ;-)))) LOL!
I'll catch up to the rest of yah later!
Mari
Edit: Alexandre: Hello! How are you? Always a pleasure to hear from you my friend! I think that's a great Idea! I wish I thought of that! I have 2 Joe shows coming up this week so
I will have lots more photos to choose from for you. You have to send me the one of you and Joe! I will send you me and Joe as well as a few others. It will be great to have some of your photos! It will be an honor to share my photos with you. Take care! ~~~~Sea Eyes~~~~

JOE! I went to your amazing concert on Wednesday night at the Roxy in Atlanta. I went with 4 of my friends. We had shirts with the letters that spell out "SATCH". Matt pointed us out and told us he thought it was a great idea. I live in Atlanta and am 14 years old. I am a huge fan of yours. I also would like to let you know that I am the person who gave Matt the necklace (with the silver surfer on it) during the concert, to give to you. I have to say, Stu Hamm is a great bass player, but watching Matt B. play was awesome. He is a really great guy because he was talking to my friends and I on the front row just about the whole concert. I tried to stay until the end of the concert to see what your guitar tech did with my necklace (after Matt handed it to your tech after one of the songs), but my friend's mom was picking us up and I had to leave early because it was a school night. Bummer, I know. I actually ended up getting in trouble for not minding my friend's mom and staying and watching you play "Big Bad Moon" when I was supposed to be outside. Haha, just goes to show that you are the greatest ever. I really enjoyed your concert because I have never seen you live before and I hope you will come back to Atlanta soon because I am sure I'm not the only one who loved the experience. Please let me know if you like the necklace if you read this message. Matt seemed to like it fairly well :). I would also enjoy seeing some pictures from the concert on the website.
Your great fan,
Zach Robinson

bahduh, thank you. What a nice thing to say. I'll relay your message to him.
ZACH ROBINSON, cool post for Joe. I'm not saying it's a good thing that you didn't leave the show when you were supposed to, but it was very cool that you stayed behind for B.B.M. It's a killer song bro! If his mom would hear it, she would know. lol! So your birthday is 12/2/89? My daughter's b-day is 12/2/88 :) Eek! Big 16 this year! lol! Also, nice gesture giving Joe a necklace. I'm sure he got it and is diggin' it hard! Joe appreciates all the gifts he gets from his fans...probably even the really weird stuff too. lol!
oopsie - forgot to say hi to all my peeps! HI PEEPS!

DelfinoPie: You'll need to adjust the neck, because 11's will pull the neck up more, resulting in more relief in the neck. You will also have to reset your intonation.
DCK: Did you ever end up interviewing George Lynch? Just curious about what he ended up saying.
TOALL: The Satch concert was great!! He played lots of tunes I've never heard him do before! I still don't like those amps, they are too buzzy (nails in the ears) and too dirty. I think the ds1 into the Marshall clean channel had the balls, but with more clarity and openness. Oh well, end of an era..... Any body know what Satch was using in the beginning, in the Surfing FIABD era?
