a suite is a set of 5 dances with a prelude at the beginning [6 works in all].. the form, time signature and tempo of each of the dances are very different to a concerto.. when you write a suite the first work is most often a prelude, the next four work can be anything you like [and there are a ton of different dances to choose from... most common are: minuet, sarabande, allemande, gigue, bouret], the final part is most often the Gigue

so... saying Concerto Suite is like saying 'horse truck'... yes a horse and a truck are both methods of transport... but together it just makes no sense...

Clarky - That's one snappy title! LOL. Zoe was fired, but she kind of knew it ws going to happen - if we didn't fire her she probably would have left eventually, so we decided to make it sooner rather than later so as not to waste any time. Basically, she wasn't really into our stuff anymore. She was saying things like "we should write some short songs with less solos so that we're more commercially viable and we can radio play", and even though she had a point we're just not that kind of band. We just write, and if it ends up long and full of solos then that's the way it is. Plus, everyone I've spoken to has said that she doesn't suit our music too well - her voice isn't powerful enough, etc. etc. We're still friends and she understood, but it's still a bit of a pain in the arse. Nevermind...

By the way, I went to the Carvin website and found the TS100 power amp which sounds really good. Nevada Music sell it for £449, which is affordable, and it's 100% chrome on the front!!!! BLING!!!!! lmao. That would look so cool...

962, dude, Joe played new and old - all the way back to Hordes of Locusts from NOTE. That put a smile on a lot of faces. What did I think of it live? OMG it was awesome! Joe was on fire. He certainly put some stank on it last night, as did the rest of the band. I seriously think this was one of the best shows ever. I think Jeff's playing improves with every tour too. I always thought he was a great drummer, but he's throwin' down some shit now! (that's a good thing, not a bad thing) lol! I watched him as much as I watched Joe. Mr Bighead 2 rows in front of me was blocking out Matt and/or Galen most of the night, but it could have been worse so I'm not complaining. Galen really fills in the songs, and Matt is dead-on with the backbeat. He's fun to watch too. It was a killer show!

Kudos to the big guy in the center section about 1/4 of the way back, who's dancing reminded me of the dude in Joe's Sony commercial. lol! He was fun to watch.

Clarky, very well stated re "Malm". I personally love the man for his single minded take it or leave it approach to everything. I reiterate that unfortunately after his first couple of releases there was really no where left to go in his genre, he needed to change or regrettably, go stale. YJM obviously chose the latter.

I just went to the Keswick Theatre Show in Glenside PA last night (which I might add was spectactular - the platinum meet and greet could have lasted longer but he did have a lot of people to meet, I got my picture taken which was more than I could ask for :)

Yoda - I feel your pain on looking for singers. You want first, of course, someone that can sing. That is hard enough. Top that off with frontman/woman ego antics, coulpled with the "artist" mentality (lack of focus, preparation, and punctuallity) and it's just a major pain in the ass. I don't know how many people we aaagghhditioned this summer but it was brutal. Good luck to ya'. I'll be waiting to hear the title of your new instrumental recording.

Michelle - Saw the post about your leg. Bummer. I ripped my calf up last year playing hoop. It was my first real sports injury (not counting twisted ankles and jammed fingers). Getting old SUCKS. It seems that some things are getting harder and harder to do, like get up after sitting on the floor for a while. I just don't do that anymore. Only chairs for me. I might need one of those chairs that tilt and lift you up to a standing position soon. LOL Anyway take care and hope you feel better soon.

Do the Stu CNN and Fox News is no comparrison. Fox news is way more balanced. I have heard this "CNN is liberal" which is a bunch of balony. CNN has both smart republicans and democrats for shows like Crossfire. How many shows do they have on CNN that downs the right all the time? None. How many shows on Fox news do they have that downs the liberals all the time? At least 2 that I know. Hannity and Colmes and The O'Reilly factor. The reporters and anchors, if you notice, ask the democrats harder questions all the time.
