Hey Satch land! I have been studying hard and getting ready for the finals. Sorry to hear that opticalstudio's dads car got hit by a hit and run! MATT KING: I figured you were mucho busy with C.O.E. Good to see some posts from ya! Howdy BADDAH: I'm still here! Howdy everyone else. I hope you all have had wonderfull music to listen to or play whilst I've been busy. ATN has a new web page. New music can be listened to there, but keep in mind there are some faux-pax on the page. There will be a breaking in time untill we learn to get it right. Thanks to all who have logged on to listen. JAZZY: Thanks for all your help and interest! Steven has really gone all out with his guitar learning/techniques. Enjoy, I do. JOE: I love this Tony Burnett stuff. John McCarthy and Tony together makes a top learning curve for us(and others). Your still the one who got me into trem work. I hope you have some time to have a break once in a while. Your tour schedule is grulling. Fun and popular! Peace KTF

Optical Studio- I just love browsing through magazines, then guitar shops; sometimes I've known what I wanted to buy, other times just go there with an open mind. If I haven't got the cash to get a guitar I want that day though it depresses me - sods law that's when I'd find the guitar I wanted! My favourite KISS songs tend to be more their earlier stuff- Strutter, Deuce, Rock and Roll All Nite type tracks. I just love them, always have done! :-)

OMG, the Godsmack/Metallica show kicked ass! My throat is raw and my ears are ringing. lol! Godsmack ruled, but Metallica did not disappoint! Last 2 times I saw James he was pissed at the world, demanded the crowd did this or that, and dropped the F-bomb about 100 times. This time he seemed happy, grateful, and appreciative of the feedback, and he only had 1 f-bomb that I remember. He really looked healthy and happy, and had an overall better vibe about him. The crowd responded to the new stuff as well as the old stuff. My bro-in-law and I almost had to smash some kid (over 21 because he had beer) behind us. As soon as he got there he spilled beer on my back. I turned around and told him about it. He was with about 4 friends, and he was wasted off his ass. He thought it was funny to tap us both on the shoulder, then pretend he didn't do it. Like a friggin 2 year old. His friend kept apologizing for him and finally took his beer away from him. I told him and his friend that if he touches me one more time I'm going to bust his fuckin' head in, then hand him over to my bro to finish him off. Funny, after that the kid sat on his ass and didn't move for about 2 hours. They did not want to mess with my bro-in-law. He's got a LOT of pent up anger these days, and was there to unleash it in one way or another. Be it through the music or a beat down, it didn't matter to him. LOL! They eventually moved the drunk kid down to the end, where he proceeded to puke all over the floor in front of him. I wouldn't have cared how drunk he was, but when he started touching us and acting a fool, all bets were off.

Anyways, it was a killer show and everybody who has a chance should go see it! The Godsmack drum/bongo solo was mind blowing! I have to run out tomorrow and get the new Godsmack dvd. Shhhh, don't tell my husband. lol! cha-ching! lol!

ha! Man my throat hurts. lol! OY! It's 2:30 and I have to get up at 6:45! Oh yeah, my daughter said she felt better by lunchtime at school. She went to the show, and I'm sure she had a fantastic time. She was in bed by the time I got home. She's going to go in to school about an hour late, unless she is sicker when she gets up in the morning. Man how I hate colds. We seen her & her bf in the corridor before the show and she said "OMG mom, we're so high!!" My eyes opened wide and I said "say what?" She then went on to explain that our seats were good, but her group had seats on the 2nd level, which is very high up and steep seating doesn't help. lol! whew!! lol! It's a great thing when your teenager tells you they are high and they mean vertically, not chemically. lol!

night peeps. i'll catch up tomorrow.

One more thing, Bam Magera (sp?) & a friend came in and sat in our section. They were about 8-10 rows in front of us.

Also got a hug and a signed picture from Pierre Robert, a fantastically cool DJ from WMMR! That made my night :)

jazzy: who cares if Dick Cheney's daughter is gay? that little pretyt boy fag edwards shouldtn have even brougth it up, espeacilly during the debate. and who cares what celebrities and musicians are votin for whol. all they are is rich people. there are some great actores and musicians who aren't famous or rich or whatever. and most of them are liberal and gay supporers anyway, and they put animals and plants before people. who gives?!!!

JS_JS: I am happy to say that Republicanism has reached a new low with people like you. I am glad you are not 18 yet and cannot vote. Who cares if Dick Cheney's daughters gay? I do. Because she has a right to her life and homophobes like you keep interfering. And go tell Dick Cheney in front of his face his daughter is a "fagg" or a "dyke" and lets see if he kisses your redneck ass. Btw, in case your dim witted head didnt watch the presidential debates, it was Mr. Kerry who pointed out that Cheney's daughter is gay, not Edwards.

Jacob, with your current spelling mistakes, I really hope you graduate High School because the future of America could be looking dim with war crazed, Bible humping fanatics like you.

When celebrities make political statements, fans listen. I know you have been listening to Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. Its ok. Maybe some you will find the way out of the closet. Did you know that research (from Univ. of Chicago) has shown that 65% of homophobes are closet homosexuals? Come on JS_JS, we are your friends...when's the big day coming? *wink, wink*

And finally, When you say that liberal celebrities put plants and animals before people, think twice. Sure. But dont you think our hilbilly president put Money before human lives? Havent you heard the news of innocent American soldiers dying?

I know you're young, dumb and Republican. Its ok.

Achoo: I hope Joe plays Rubina, Love Thing, AWMAWY and Cryin for your woman. Those are amazing ballads. btw, how old are you? I live in minneapolis but keep commuting between Chicago and Madison, WI.

ATN: No Problem Bud! You guys are doing great job.

Optical Studio: Dude, you're more than welcome. Dont let those outside forces bother whats inside. I know its tough but remember one thing, Guitar loves you! Also, GT6 loves you. When I am with the two of those, the world around me shuts off and I enter the ethereal world of music. Speaking of Ethereal, do you like the effect? I love the effect to death! I usually switch off the flanger on that one and I have this dreamy spacy sound. You should definitely try it.

DCK: What do you think about the GT-6?

Michelle: God damn beer guzzling rednecks! Your brother in law should have beat 'em all. I know what you mean by annoying bastards at metal shows. When I saw metallica, there was this Celtic Warrior (aka Neo Nazi kid) trippin on some drug and pushing people around in a really scary way. Someone kicked his ass so it was ok. But yeah, its really not cool.

me off to bed. Good Night people :-)

michelle - clenching up is not a great idea... lmao...
you need to be relaxed... lmao...
the only girlies that need to clench up are those with a butt hole the size of a bucket... roflmao..

Mikey - yup... it was my birthday last week.. thanx for the belated wishes....
you're a star... thanx bro...
I'm not sure if I got monged or not...
I think I was too monged to notice.... lmao...

I so understand what Vai means about composition..
I too get my greatest satisfaction when writing and creating music..

I think my favourite Taste track is Blister on the Moon
Rory was years ahead of his time..
mieksb, civgeek, cuthbert - yes I'd agree that Malm's playing on Rising Forsce is truely inspired... I guess my main moan about that album is that at the time he couldn't write a song if his life depended on it... so it was just the playing that held it all together...
Marching Out was much better and I thought that he peaked on Trilogy... but my take is that Turner had a great influence over the crafting of songs.. when Malm is in the company of a great song-smith as he was on Trilogy and with Alcatrazz, that is when I feel that he really steps up another notch... he gets a better platfom on which to express himself and seems to me to be an even more expressive and passionate player.. why?.. my take is "substance".. music that is born out of soul as opposed to technique...
Suffer Me and the ballad on Trilogy [can't recall the name] are prime examples...

Rising Force... increadible and exciting playing... poor songs..

Matt - nice to see you again man... shit... where you been...

I know what you mean about 'going it alone'...
I write and record alone...
my band is just for live stuff only...

Suzie - although seeing Du Pré going bolo in the Royal Festival Hall with the London Symphony orchestra would have been awesome.. lol..
optical - are you looking for a combo or a stack?
Stace - when if comes to footie [soccer in English English.. lol] I support Millwall... and we are and always have been mostly crap.. with little glimmers from time to time that we can be good... I guess that equates to the Red Sox.. lmao...

cos they piss me of and I just keep going back... lmao...

Mowlie - bro... how did the gig go Friday night?.. good I hope..
it was great meeting you.. shame I couldn't stay, see you guys play, get lashed and up to no good... lol..
well I did get lashed and up to no good... but somewhere else.. lol..

so... now you got a little glimpse in music terms of the 'real' me.. over the IUMA jamming me...
I'm glad you enjoyed it...
what are your thoughts... musically etc.. not just the playing... overall..
I'm interested in what you think...
you can be really honest too..
I'm a big boy... I can take it... lmao..

me? Favoured Nations?.... lmao... unlikely... lovely thought though..
reality - I think that I'm destined to remain a mortal... lmao..

jazzy - you ain't reached a new level of weirdness at all... I'm with yer on the dancin' redneck... lmao...
I care if Dick Cheney's lil' girlie is a dyke....
I want to see the video evidence.... lol..

is she fit or is she a bit of a pig...

alexandre - no need to say sorry... lol...
thanks for the birthday wishes bro..

Zinc: Cheers for the welcome! I live in Melbourne, which is approximately three hours south (by air) from Brisbane (spelling was right on!). It is a little cooler (temperature) down here - though it is a matter of opinion which city has a better lifestyle.

If I had to summarise the differences in a single statement, I would say that Brisbane is based on a surf culture; and Melbourne is more of a cafe culture with some art and entertainment thrown in for good measure.

For the most part, you would be hard pressed to find more genuine, laid-back people anywhere in the world. Canadians are awesome too (I was there in September and had a fantastic time)!

Clarky, time to dig out your old albums.. Turner was not involved with YJM until the Odyssey release. Marching Out and Trilogy were written by YJM/ the Johansson bros and Jeff Scott Soto. Soto however was sacked/left prior to recording Trilogy and so Mark Boals stepped in on vocals. Mark of course is still recording as "Ring of Fire" today which features Tony Mac on guitar.

You are right regarding Alcatrazz, the music was developed largely by Jimmy Waldo who was prior to Alc, a member of the band New England who had a couple of AOR type hits. Mr. Bonnet of course had some input and YJM added a couple of tunes and of course all the free-form solos...

Canada is nice - similar to the US - but yet different. We went to Niagara Falls during the summer of 2003 - great time.

The GI Deserter

A GI deserter was running down a road escaping from two MPs. He came to a fork in the road and saw a nun standing there. He asked her, " Please Sister may I hide under your skirts for a few minutes. I'll explain why later.

"The nun agreed to his request. Shortly thereafter the two MPs came running along and asked her if she had seen a soldier running down the road. She replied, "He went that way".

After the MPs disappeared, the soldier crawled out from under her skirt and said "I can't thank you enough Sister, but you see I don't want to go to Iraq."

The nun said she understood.

The GI said "I hope you don't think me rude or impertinent, but you have the most beautiful pair of legs I've ever seen !

The nun replied, "if you had looked a little higher you would have seen the most beautiful pair of balls you've ever seen ! "

"I don't want to go to Iraq either!"

I attended the Joe show at Glenside last Thursday. Excellent. Too loud though, causes a lack of clarity. I wish all the pros would figure that out.

For those who are interested, here is an out of order playlist,I believe to be complete.Up in the Sky, House Full of Bullets, Psycho Monkey, Time, Gnahh, Hands in the Air, Is Ther Love in Space?, If I Could Fly (which was awesome), I Like the Rain, Searching (I thought a letdown), Bamboo, Hordes of Locusts, Sacth Boogie (closer), Lords of Kharma, Flying in a Blue Dream, Strange (Excellent), War, Motorcycle Driver, Cool #9, Moroccan Sunset, Starry Night (surprisingly great live as opposed to CD) , and The Traveller.

All in all a great show. It was good to hear the "rare gems" and the improvs.

brownbow: I agree - there were a couple songs that were too loud and you couldnt hear his guitar too clearly - it was only from one of his guitars I noticed though. I got the platinum tickets and our guide said that Joe never does a sound check - so not entirely his fault (don't know why he doesnt though). Along with the bad mic on the drums that was shorting out, Keswick should do their own sound checks - heh.
