I attended the Joe show at Glenside last Thursday. Excellent. Too loud though, causes a lack of clarity. I wish all the pros would figure that out.
For those who are interested, here is an out of order playlist,I believe to be complete.Up in the Sky, House Full of Bullets, Psycho Monkey, Time, Gnahh, Hands in the Air, Is Ther Love in Space?, If I Could Fly (which was awesome), I Like the Rain, Searching (I thought a letdown), Bamboo, Hordes of Locusts, Sacth Boogie (closer), Lords of Kharma, Flying in a Blue Dream, Strange (Excellent), War, Motorcycle Driver, Cool #9, Moroccan Sunset, Starry Night (surprisingly great live as opposed to CD) , and The Traveller.
All in all a great show. It was good to hear the "rare gems" and the improvs.

brownbow: I agree - there were a couple songs that were too loud and you couldnt hear his guitar too clearly - it was only from one of his guitars I noticed though. I got the platinum tickets and our guide said that Joe never does a sound check - so not entirely his fault (don't know why he doesnt though). Along with the bad mic on the drums that was shorting out, Keswick should do their own sound checks - heh.

Clarky: Lesbian videos bore me. Most of them are fake anyways. But I would not mind one with Jesse Jane and hehe, the redneck woman. Check out Jesse Jane. She blows the lives out of me.
Cuthbert: Mary Cheney is campaigning for her Dad and I didnt know that. JS_JS, youre free to vent out your "in the closet" steam out now...on Mary Cheney. hehe :o

Mikesb - I've just checked on the Malm web site... you are of course quite right... I've got my wires crossed....
and it has nothing to do with the bottle of Chardonay I desimated in less than 40 minutes last night... no lie... lmao...
I was thinking of Odyssey with Turner...
but in essence you see where I'm coming from..
let a true song-smith write the 'core' of the music and melodic content, then let Malm sort out the riffs and shreds...
and let Malm loose for the occasional crazy instrumental..
then things tend to work out better..
I actually really like Marching Out and Trilogy, however - musicianship not withstanding - it sounds like it was writen by 17 years olds that are into Dungeons and Dragons, Conan the ball bearing, etc..
cuthbert - ok.. she's not mega fit or anything.. but looks screwable..
I'd buy the vid... lol..
Jazzy - fake lessie flicks or real ones... lol.. I'm just fussy...
I have remarkably low standards and consistantly fail to achieve them.. lol..

Clarky, Yes I have also found that anything Malm related goes down better with a little Chardonnay LMAO. YJM , who himself prefers red, looks like he oughta cut back a little!! He is starting to have a bloated look similar to the last cover appearance of Rory Gallagher on the guitar mag covers ( I am thinking of the "Guitar World" issue where Viv Campbell interviewed Rory, one of his Irish heroes). Rory as we know had advanced liver disease at the time and ultimately passed away far too young. Rory RIP.

Jazzzzy: You lucky bastard. You deserve it though man. The Satch gods are watching over you. I'm relitavly young,24 years old. Lovin' satch since before I could play. First Satch song ever heard was summer song on that Sony commercial in the early 90s. I was about 11 1/2. And I was born in the barrio/ghetto. Not a lot of Satch lovers out there or guitar players. Lot of weed thogh to practice and zone out with. Ha HA!

Well, I'm going to see Satriani here in Chicago on Friday! I just can't wait. I 've been strumming for years but didn't really take a true interest in the guitar until about a year ago when I decided to tackle lead. I realize now that years of mainstrean pop and techno had really blinded me from seeing the true musicians in our world. This man's sick! (and I mean that in a good way) My husband turned me on to Joe and now I can't get enough. I've tackled lick for lick Hendrix, pretty damn good for a girl, but playing like Satriani may be a unreachable dream. I'm sure gonna give it hell, though! Nothing else to say but "WOW". I can not wait for Friday. Satch is my god.

Joe:
I thought there may be a chance you read this post before leaving Chicago this weekend so here it is.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase one of your limited edition "Chrome Boy" guitars. I have been trying to find a way to get it signed by you so that I can put it away for good! Is there any way I can make arrangements to do this. I know you are busy and the last time I met you was three weeks prior to purchasing the guitar. Bummer..
Please help...

The Top 5 Programs on PinkTV
France's first gay television channel, PinkTV, is an eye-opener. And that's the point: Pink's founders believe there's a ready audience for the channel, and not just among France's estimated 3.5 million gays. Pink's "a giant leap for television, a small step in high heels," said a PinkTV spokesman.
5> Will and Grease
4> Gerard Depardieu Me
3> Leave It for Beaver
2> Homme Improvement
and the Number 1 Program on PinkTV...

People, please feel free to check that link and listen to News In Brief. It's the political track that my accomplace, Alex, and myself have been working on, and it's now up on soundlcick. Be open minded, and be aware that the political ideas presented may be contrary to your own.
Jazzzzzy, your list of pro-bush/pro-kerry voters in the music world was interesting. Also, although it's not confirmed, I somehow doubt that Joe will be voting for bush. I've seen his CND t-shirt....nothing gets past me! hehe
Dude, have you seen Farenheit 9/11? My mum and I watched it last night, it's awesome. If John Kerry does manage to win this, Mike Moore should be very proud that it's partly because of his documentary!
TASTEY, I think it's an interesting proposal - perhaps Joe should have something playing on the homepage. I wouldn't want it playing in the messageboard tho, cause I often listen to CD's while reading/writing!
Andy Timmon's homepage has The Princess (i think) playing in the background, and it's pretty cool. Music does tend to slow things down tho, which sucks for those of us with dial-up!
Fretslayer, haven't seen you in ages dude! hows it goin?
amerfalls, welcome, and keep going. If you've tackled lick-for-lick Hendrix then at least part of playing Joe-style is obtainable! Keep on rockin
