Do The Stu I got into a debate today about Michael Moore, and "Bowling For Columbine" in particular and I was putting forward the case that it was biased and was putting forward that Charlton Heston was being made out to be a really bad guy with no compassion, (referring mainly to the "from my cold dead hands" speech) when in fact it was done through implication and editing. However the person I was talking to about this told me I was wrong straight out, and that Moore never said that Heston was evil and seemed to have a very frail argument to try to defend Moore, and prove me wrong. However after telling this person it was a explicit opinion and that it was expressed implicitly and implied by, as you mentioned a few posts ago, by editing two speeches in such a way that it appears they both belong to the same overall speech.
Would you be able to post the link to that website you posted a few weeks ago regarding the truth about "Bowling For Columbine" so I can forward it to this person, please?
(Hopefully they read it through instead of blindly dismissing it)
Thanx :-)
Looks like the 10 films a group of friends and I are planning to make may start to begin pre-production.
Anyone familiar with the TV gameshow "Countdown" will probably appreciate a parody of it, which will be the length of a normal episode, but hopefully we will be able to pull it off and make it funnier than it usually is.
The second film being a silent movie, in an early 20th century stylee with white captions on black boards. Also this one will be done in monochrome and revolve around a rampaging panda.
The next film is a sequel to a previously made movie called "The Zombie The Movie", this new one is called "The Zombie The Movie The Sequel"...
Another film is "Homo Alone"...and is as it sounds, a spoof of "Home Alone" but with a "Will And Grace" kinda' twist...(except y'know...it'll be funny)
Well thats all the films I am willing to give away, when I finish the website for the films I'll post it so more info can be investigated if you so wish.
Take care everyone

Who gives a rats ass to who the world would vote for. By the way, to all of our friends living under royal blood in the UK, years ago when we dumped tea in the harbor and decided to keep our right to bear arms, we didn't give a shit what you thought then about our policy. What makes you think we care now? I constantly hear (on the BBC) that some sorry assed brit farmer is spending time in jail for putting a cap in some intruders ass caught breaking into his own home.
So, Brits...sit back relax and follow our lead. We will save your little country from terrorism just like we saved you from hitler.
I should try decaf.

There have been and always will be negative people. Monday morning quarterbacks if you will. The United States of America although imperfect is still a survivor. It takes balls to face up to the challenges and threats that the parlance of our times dictates. We are a country not a utopia. If radicals want a Jihad I say bring it on. There is no President that can solve this problem. To say that it is wrong to take out threats that are dangerous and inhumane is naive. There are people in the world that want to kill you and me for our way of life. Case in point, because I am free to speak my mind on this web site. This is just unacceptable. I refuse to go see Satch and be afraid that some jerk off is going to blow me up. Let’s find john q jerk off and kick his ass before he has the chance to make his little religious statement in innocent blood. I believe in peace and love. I believe in strength and honor. I believe in freedom and civil rights.
I believe we can change anything.
I believe.

Has anyone else seen an article / tv show about the new remote control (looks like one that unlocks your car doors) that can turn on or off almost any TV?
From the article . . .
Hundreds of orders for Altman's $14.99 TV-B-Gone gadget poured in Monday after the tiny remote control was announced in Wired magazine and other online media outlets. At times, the unexpected attention overloaded and crashed the Web site of his company, Cornfield Electronics.
The keychain fob works like a universal remote control but one that only turns TVs on or off. With a zap of a button, the gizmo goes through a string of about 200 infrared codes that controls the power of about 1,000 television models. Altman said the majority of TVs should react within 17 seconds, though it takes a little more than a minute for the gizmo to emit all the trigger codes.

jazzzzzzzy - "The general population wouldnt pick on the mistakes, as I believe they are minor."
If the general population wouldn't pick on the spelling mistakes (and if they are minor mistakes), why did you have to attack JS JS when he made a few mistakes?
novjul - Hi...welcome back. Don't be a stranger.

The Truth About Bowling For Columbine
Since you specifically mentioned the Charlton Heston speech, I thought I'd link to this page as well (even though you can get to it through the link I just posted)...

That page is color-coded so you can see how Moore edited the speech.
Also, you can go here for similar information about Fahrenheit 9/11:

OpticalStudio- I do love my SG. It's platinum and quite beautiful, I think. Also have a Fender Strat that plays very nicely, also another custom strat and an Aria. also have a lovely classical guitar. My husband and I don't play rock stuff together- a hobby really, but we do voice and guitar duo stuff - we've recorded a cd of material quite recently (Renaissance period, John Dowland, Henry Purcell etc.) That's not exactly very rock and roll of me, is it?!! :-)

I was not implying that your comment was negative, I was generalizing a genre of critics. When someone attacks you (and thousands of your colleagues) at your place of work, what can one do in power but react? In fact, by not reacting the previous administration stuck its head in the sand instead of out of the fox hole. Freedom is a right, but a right that needs to be defended, once again this calls for a re(action). I would not support a Pre-crime department or policy but I do support sexual offender notification and the three strikes rule. Sadamm had every opportunity to work with weapons inspectors. He chose to be defiant.... we reacted...... I think he wishes he had that choice back.
True cause... Once again, hind sight is always 20/20.
True cause? We haven't been attacked since........
With Respect for you and your views.

juju808, cool, thanks lots for checkin out News In Brief! Al and I just want want to get loads of people to hear it really! And yeah, that's TASTEY you're hearing on each of those 4 newscasts - now go tell her she did an ace job! hehe
Yeah I wish our votes could help change things for you guys - I feel that sometimes we get a more realistic report from the media, on what is really going on than you guys do in your own country, cause the Bush administration has such a tight grasp on what it wants you to all believe, and so on. That really ties with what Jazzzzzzy was saying too, about biased and unbiased media, sensationalism etc.
JSW, thanks for the link! That looks like a really cool idea!
Jazzzzzzzy, yeah man, I hear you, and like I said to juju, I think it really blows that you guys often get such an artistic representation of what's going on!

Joe,
I have followed your carrear since 1988. You have given me a lot of inspiration over the years. It has been interesting listening to your music grow both in maturity & complexity and you continue to fascinate me with your creativity. I have been playing seriously now for 4 years but play only by ear & feel. I have found that though I struggle communicating with other musicians, through hours of tireless practice I can continue to expand & grow as a musician. Although I have many guitar influences, I don't want to copy only create my own music. What advice can you give me as I continue to work through the endless highway of notes, scales & chords?

Joe, it was a WONDERFUL show here in Ann Arbor last night. As my review said, I was so nervous in meeting you that the questions that I was going to ask you just flew out of my head, so I am going to list them here. Thank you for coming, and I hope that you come back soon!
My major one is and this is not a criticism, but why do you not have a guitar tuned down 1/2 step for the songs that were originally recorded as such, such as War and The Extremist? The version of War you played last night rocked the house, but the song carries so much more impact and are heavier when tuned down to D#. Tthe only answer I can think of is it being a matter of logistics, and I know you and the crew are more wary these days about carrying around a lot of guitars.
How is Stu doing? I know that he is not on the tour, but as he is part of the family, I'm curious to know what he is up to.
That's all I can think of, and thank you again for a magical evening, and the best concert experience of my life.

DamlMissNamm, while you are entitled to your views as I am to mine, and also while you are welcome to discuss politics on here with those who also want to, being English I found your comment...
"... to all of our friends living under royal blood in the UK, years ago when we dumped tea in the harbor and decided to keep our right to bear arms, we didn't give a shit what you thought then about our policy. What makes you think we care now?... So, Brits...sit back relax and follow our lead. We will save your little country from terrorism just like we saved you from hitler."
...very rude and patronising. OK, you may not care about England, but do you have to spout off like this?

I sincerely apologize for my comments that offended you. After reading your post, the comment that you removed from the context of my entire post is condescending. I am sorry.
I should have addressed the particular brits that were concerned that we should care about what the countries that ask us to defend them think of us when we do.
