THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CHECKED OUT MY WEBSITE, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

DELFINOPIE,

Yes, I use that rp200 alot. It's kinda funny, because no one believes me when they here my tone that thats all I am using. Though, I did sit down and tweak the sounds on it left and right. I used to use a Rockman Sustainer, still do sometimes, but the rp200 just so easy to get around. Besides, with being in school right now and all the payments, I cant afford anything else.

MATT KING, I am going to post some new sound clips, full versions, this week sometime. Your absolutely right about the 40 sec clips. Do you recall a name by Ryan Meals from PA? Kinda funny, he knows you, said you guys went to a satch concert in Philadelphia I think, and you guys got back stage passes. Anyways, he a great friend of mine, what a small world...

PhryDom-Do you have any sound files on your website? I couldnt find any.

slowcmfrtablscrw, Yes, the Les Paul Custom (which I've played for most of my life) has a larger radius in the neck. It's easier to get on top of the JS 100 fretboard with your fingers. I interchange between both guitars, they're such great guitars! Enjoy the JS Series..great guitars at any price! Good Luck! Great...Great...Great...Spam...Spam & more Spam! Stevee T.

Got a mystery I could use some help solving...

My wife and I got tickets to the Columbus show and had been reading the reviews of the shows here leading up to it. About a week before that show, we could no longer access this site - it kept loading the old "page cannot be displayed" routine when we tried.

It's been that way until today. We had a brief power outage that shut down both PC's we use. When we booted after that, we could access this site again and were surprised to see that everything appears to have been normal here.

We've never had anything like this happen before and are wondering why or how a power outage could "reset" something that would allow access to a site? Or what happened to begin with that prevented access?

BTW - great show in Columbus! We're long time fans, but this was the first time we've been able to catch Joe live. Looking forward to the next!

Mahavishnu - Cool...let me / us know what you think when you get to listen to those DT albums...

guitarnut777 - We're really free to talk about whatever we want to here. If you don't try to start music-related discussions, it isn't fair to expect the rest of us to always talk about music.

"But when has anyone here EVER heard Joe Satriani speak out about his political views"

He made a few comments about CA's recall election in (I think) a Lake Tahoe-area newspaper. I bet he's said other things over the years as well.

On 04-24-02, Joe said the following on this very website (in response to the death of Layne Staley):

"all drugs should be de-criminalized, regulated by the gov't, and the revenue used to get people treatment so they don't destroy themselves...the war on drugs is not what it says it is."

death cube k - Happy birthday!
Zinc Master - "not sure what kind of governor [Arnold] is - don't hear much about California lately."

Most Californians I have talked to are presently surprised by what Arnold has done. I didn't vote for him and I didn't think he would make a good governor, but he has exceeded my (somewhat low) expectations.

Matteo333 - I like Stu more than Matt as well, but Joe improvises so much more now that Matt is in the band...
962 - "they have never left the USA. I think that is a good indicator of the lack of global awareness that some people have"

I disagree. It is quite possible to be aware of the different countries world without traveling to each and every one of them. It's wrong to assume that any number of people (even if its not all American people) don't know about Europe just because they haven't been there.

Would you say people who travel all over Europe but don't leave the continent have "seen more of the world" than people who stay in the US for their entire lives? The US and Europe are roughly the same size (their percentage of "the world" is roughly the same)... I've visited most of the 50 states here...I've probably seen as many different places as people in Europe. Should my experiences not count because most of them happen to be in the same country?

I've been to Canada and Mexico. Visiting countries other than those two can get expensive for Americans. I've spent two weeks in Europe, but most Americans probably haven't. Does that really matter?

If it does...what about Australia? They're more "isolated" from other countries than the US is. Do they lack the global awareness that you think some Americans lack? If not, why not? What's different?

Bmadd4 - Joe doesn't really need to sign with Favored Nations. Sony has better distribution deals than Favored Nations, and they probably give Joe a larger advertising / promotion budget.
Mr Nick - "and he'll probably go after other middle eastern countries"

Whether or not he will, that is still a far cry from the "every country in the world" that you previously mentioned.

jazzzzzzzy - "Not saying all republicans are idiots, but 98% of the 51% that voted are."

Prove it. Your sweeping generalizations are ridiculous.

"Screw these white trash nascar worshipping trailer park douchebags."

Why all the hostility? For having seen so much of the world, you don't seem to be very considerate of those who aren't like yourself.

alexandrecaetano - Cool...thanks for that link. :-)

I'm doing well, thanks for asking. I've had a busy week, so I'm glad that the weekend is here (I don't have classes on Friday). Woohoo!

50plus - Hmmm...maybe you had a problem with your cookies or temporary internet files. If that happens again in the future, deleting those files might fix the problem.

Davey, How old are you honey. I might not be old enough to be your mom, but I can still mother you. lol!

Jazzy, which of those other 4 countries did you like the best, and least, and why? Just curious.

JS1200kid, if Joe's sister is anything like Joe, I bet she's a fantastic counselor. Joe is so laid back, optimistic, down to earth, and 'knowing'. His mama did a damn good job! lol! It would seriously kick ass to have her at my kids school!

Alexandre, hello honey! Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. I send the most healthy heartfelt vibes to go out to you my friend. I wish you a quick recovery. Big hug to Hadji from Moe & Stew.

Muppet stamps are coming!!! lol! Just saw on the news that Muppet stamps will be available soon. That's cool :)

Steven, try to rest when you can and drink plenty of water. Take care!

guitarnett, I stood in line near Ryan & his pals at the Electric Factory in Philly. I think I actually have a picture of him in line too. Tell him Michelle says hello. I stood with my husband and Mary Golly (M&M). Don't know if he'll remember me?

Senator Kerry today said that now we need to come together and heal as a nation. FUCK THAT. There's no fucking way, I am going to come together with these homophobic, flag-waving, god-fearing, gun-toting, uneducated, isolationist, ethnocentric REDNECKS. We live in a country that's in a shroud of ignorance. We do not compromise or come together with them. We fight them and everything they stand for. We as a community have to take care of each other and respect each other because apparently our current government has no interest in that. They do not care about gay people, they do not care about sick people, they do not care about black people, they do not care about poor people, they do not care about the rest of the world, they do not care about our environment, and they especially don't care about a woman's right to choose. We may have lost the battle, shit we may have lost the war...but we are not losing our minds. WE ARE RIGHT...THEY ARE WRONG...just because we seem to be the minority doesn't mean we come together with them. We continue to fight….and drink...and try to have a good fucking time. That's my plan anyway, thanx to you all.

-Fat Mike. He said it best.

"Guitarnutt: Seems like you never participate in this board. Why are you telling us what to talk about when your participation is almost nothing? If you want to change it, get involved or get lost."

Well that's just the point... If this board had more good topics on music, I would gladly post more often. I was merely offering my opinion the shared experience here would benefit from less politics and more music.

And Jazzy, many of your posts in particular are the most intolerant and hostile of anyone's here and it sets a very negative tone on a message board that should be anything but.

And now I'm gonna take some of Do the Stu's advice, back to the music...

I don't know about you all here, but I'm BIG on music videos, live DVDs and the like. For me, the visual element adds so much to the experience of the music to see the actual artists playing it (or at least goin' through the motions on the music videos). I have over 300 music videos and concert videos on my computer and multiple live DVD's... my favorite of it all of course is "JS Live in San Francisco" followed by the two G3 DVDs.

Anyone here have any particular music videos you recommend or great live DVDs for a fellow guitarnut?

;-)

Hello everyone. How's things going? Good I hope. Haven't been on here in ages due to lack of time at work!

Bought myself a Behringer V-Amp for recording. I'm very impressed with the sounds on it. Anyone else use one of these? How does it compare to the Line 6 POD?

Has there been any news of potential UK tours from Mr Satriani or Mr Vai?
