DCK: You like Tony Mac? I have heard his solo stuff and see him with Vai and wasnt impressed. Not my style, sorry. Well, I know that you dont like John 5 or Slash. I think these are some of the most kick ass guitarists out there.

Optical Studio: Moving out? Shoot man. That sucks. I know whats its like going back to the hometown. I sure dont ever want to go back to my hometown (Burnsville, MN). That place used to drive me insane! I always thought the Mall of America was a piece of shit! The only place they sold guitars at was Sam Goody. Growing up next to world's biggest mall can lead to severe depression!

962: Thanks man! Tony Mac...I can see why people like him, but he never pressed my button! dont know why, just isnt my style. People can call me silly for saying he sucks, but I dont give a shit.

and yes, colson's cousin sis is exxxcellent! lol!

song of the day: Nelly - Ride with me

962 - Jazzersise,

I just heard that the Aurora colorado "Thrifty Nickle newspaper" endorses Bush. "yuk Yuk, Ug-gug"

I thought you were for thinking for yourselves?

Namm Man

Edit -

The newspaper you are referring to is a little circulation that started in 2000 and only publishes once a week. But you seen the headlines and developed an opinion, just like Mr. Kerry does. Come on guys you can be better informed than that! Big paper here

Jazzy, you used the words Tony Macalpine and sucks in the same sentence. Precisely which of his projects and solo work (other than the obviously extremely confining limitations he is forced to work under with Steve) have you heard to come up with that gem of a statement?

Suzie 2000 Great you are thinking on studing, I like to think that any profesional that has to be in contact with human beens has to be the most trained ones, because if we do not know how to approuch to the ones that we are trying to help, we may hurt them in the worst way someone can be hurt Emmotional and psychologicaly.
So keep on the hard work, I like to think as if we are just a bridge between god's love and the one that needs help; we are just the way gods approuchs to them.

I love Joe's "Up in the Sky" from Crystal Planet. A week ago at the Beacon Theatre, he opened his show with this song. It was rip-roarin' rendition. I was thinking about it more after the show, and I realized what a classic song this was for a set-opener! But then it became clear that Joe has many tunes which fall into the catergory of great gig-openers.

So during this political season, how about another type of poll. What would all of you say is Joe's best live-show opener?

(In my opinion, criteria should be that the song has got to get people out of their seats, it's got to be amazing to both listen to and to watch being played by Joe, and it's got to get show off on the right foot.)

Thoughts?

jazzzzzzzy i have not seen the VAI band live.. but the astoria dvd, shows t-mac giving mr vai a good run for his money. Mike keneally totay owned Vai.. but hey.. i think John 5 is over hyped and slash is terrible but still better than kirk hammett. I personally like Keneally in the Vai band better..does Dave weiner do anything in vai's band? just curious..oh well just my 2 cents..lol

962 & jazzy,

I have met jeremy colson 3 times, reno concord & san francisco, & all the 3 times in different environments, & every time he was one of the coolest dude's ever. I really like what he does in the vai band, I was never a fan of virgil, he has skill's & flash, but no groove, ya need a drummer with groove, & mangini & colson have it....................

colson as well ROCKS the new stuart hamm band!!!!!!

seeing as though Dreamweaver is an HTML editor it's no surprise that it's "specificly [sic] for webpage" but you are quite obviously doing something really wrong,,,, did you try and "just fucking google it"?

megapuss he was one of the coolest dude's ever one of the coolest dude's what?. he has skill's - skill's what?

those talking about FPS, specifically phrydom
me: right around something like 32 frames per second is about where the eye sees stop-frames as continuous motion if i remember correctly.

my number was a bit off, but i am aware that the eye does not "see" at this frame rate, hence my phrasing. i was distinguishing the point where we start seeing motion.

jazzzzzzzy - "George W. Bush's hometown (Crawford, TX) endorsed Kerry!
That really says a LOT!"

Does it? Kerry's hometown paper also endorsed Bush.

I don't think either endorsement is a big issue.

Mobility - That's a cool question... I posted a similar question before the tour started (back in September). I was right about Up In The Sky, but I was wrong about some other guesses...

I think Not Of This Earth would be a cool opener...if not to open the show, at least to open the second set. I'd also like to see Joe open a show with Slick.

jelly man - "i don't really know phil keaggy"

You have to buy 220 right now. :-)

Mr Nick - I use Netscape Composer...it doesn't do much, but it works for me. I agree, though...Dreamweaver is more user-friendly. I'm actually considering buying it, as I can get it for about $100 with a student discount through my school. That's a steal, even if I won't use it often.
NewsMan - You're one of the last people who should be pointing out the spelling errors of others.

hey Joe (pun intended),

Next on G3 - The 3 greatest names in Ibanez rock - You, Steve Vai & Paul Gilbert !

Paul is one of the all time great shredders - what a sense of musical humour and what speed and precision !

Why not get Ibanez to promote the thing !?

Wow...talk about rocking the house down! You and your band did just that last night at The House of Blues in Chicago! My husband and I have seen your show just about every chance we can, and this by far, was the most AWESOME! What you played, how you played, the band...best show that I've ever seen! I do have one question for Joe. I am sure that you become used to playing guitar, as it is your life! Do you ever need ice packs for those awesome playing hands that you have? We were totally blown away by your show! Keep up the great work that you do! Sincerely, Linda Bjork

Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...what's ^ THE MASTER OF GUITARISTS?? nm here I bow down and worship you...ur the best guitarist in the world... I like Steve Vai too, but I mean you taught him...he's your student, that tells me something there..., I also like Ingwie, but he's a kinda an attitude that says " I'm Inwie and ur not!!! ", and ur like all for the fans and ur like a normal person. Stene and Ingwie are awesome guitarists...but ur all about style, and u play 4 feel, like I try to do...and ur normal, as I can see well l8er Joe...

Tony McAlpine is great. I wish I could play that good, so I respect his talent. Just like some of you people on this site. Therefore how can I say any of you suck? There's my two cents.

117 pages behind, but...

Bad news at NASCAR -

A plane owned by Hendrick Motorsports crashed Sunday on its way to Martinsville, killing all 10 people aboard. The dead included four relatives of team owner Rick Hendrick, including his son Ricky and brother John. Ricky Hendrick, Rick Hendrick's son and a retired NASCAR driver; John Hendrick, Rick Hendrick's brother and president of the organization; Kimberly and Jennifer Hendrick, John Hendrick's twin daughters; Joe Jackson; Jeff Turner; Randy Dorton, the team's chief engine builder; Scott Latham, a pilot for NASCAR driver Tony Stewart; and pilots Dick Tracy and Liz Morrison."

That's some pretty shitty news if you're a NASCAR fan or not.

On a brighter note, McAlpine and Colson ROCK!
