Pretty Funny

It was Saturday night and the preacher still hadn't been able to think of a sermon for the next morning. About 9:00 p.m. he finally said to his wife, "Dear, I think I've come up with the perfect sermon! I'm going to give a sermon about horseback riding!"

She said, "Don't be silly! You can't give a sermon about horseback riding!"

He replied, "Well, it's going to have to do because I've preached on just about every other subject I can think of."

The next morning as they were driving to church, she said, " can't believe that you're insisting on doing this! You know, if you're going to give that silly sermon on horseback riding, I'm just going to stay in the car during the service."

He said, "OK, then, suit yourself!", so, she stayed in the car.

Entering! church before the service, the preacher had a sudden inspiration and gave a hell-fire and brimstone sermon on SEX that just had the congregation in awe.

As the congregation filed out of the church, some of the members saw his wife sitting in the car and approached her window.

One of them said, "Wow! You just missed the best sermon your husband has ever given!"

She said, "Yeah, right! What does he know about it! He talks big but he's only tried it twice in his life! "Once before we were married and once after, and he fell off both times!

steveeet...i'm from nj myself and used to play out around here quite regularly. after the new CD is done, i will most likely be playing out quite a bit. i have 1 of 12 tracks done so far...first track took about 2 days worth of work to get in presentable quality. i'm 99% sure i will be performing @ next year's jemfest as well as i usually get the call back year to year. i should have *my* band together...last year i had throw a group of people together in less than 3 weeks to peform with me. was so incredibly hectic...

anyhow, enough with that tangent! where is your CD going to be released...independatly? i tend to find that to be the best way to do it unless you get picked up by a major label, but even then ya get screwed in the long run if you don't become a huge success...

All of you out there in the USA

I voted already today.

You need to get out there and VOTE for the candidates of your choice.

In some parts of the country, vote early and often, and make sure your dead relatives vote as well (Chicago area only).

Matt, Jemfest....hmmmm? When it comes around let me know...maybe we can hookup, and do some damage? I'm using an Ibanez JS series through a JCM 800 Lead series & a JCM 1960A Marshall cab. I'll be releasing my new CD independently...for absolute control of material & production....my website is almost up and running www.stevetrott.com, and I intend on selling my music through Taxi.com for movie soundtracks & commercials.

My musician friends tell me some of the tracks sound too Satch, and that I shouldn't use them...which to me is the greatest compliment they could give me...I really need to focus on my own Guitar voice...I'll use my Les Paul Custom more on my second release which will help to get away from Joe's great sound... Let's keep in touch! Stevee T.

Yeah... I like it Matt, great idea! A forum just T2J's would be great and a place to share info... sounds like something cool!

I would like to help too! I've got an idea for us to put together a show. I posed this idea to Joe but maybe we could plan a contest our selves?

Here's the idea; A "look a like contest" for those Joe clones out there that would like to win a chance to perform with him? Kind of a once in a life time chance for those to audition with Joe and the band. You must also know how to play at least 10 of Joe's songs from beginning to end, look as close as possible just like him, etc.. Kind of like a "American idol" but "Joe idol". Then you, Joe and the band choose the top 4 finalist, who would come on stage one at a time during either your opening or second half of the show, playing a little solo lead-in to you coming out and jamming with all 4 people. It would be GREAT!!! It would be kind of a G5 Joe Clone extravaganza!!! What do ya think? It's sure a dream of mine...Yeah!!! Spiz :)

stevee_t...i hear ya on that sounding like joe thing...i've been told many time to shed the influence, and i try to to some extent. the important thing though is that you stay true to yourself. i honestly write what comes naturally to me, i don't fuss about who/what i sound like...a good song is a good song no matter how you slice it...to me, if people take more than one listen to a song i've written, it's an accomplishment in it'self.

as far as my recording haha i used my guitar into my marshall mg15dfx little practice amp (yea! even the amp distortion) miced with a shure sm57...can't get ANY easier than that :)

i used to mess with a shit load of gear, but it just got to be such a pain in the ass to carry it everywhere. i had a marshall 6100 30th anniversary model that i sold off just cause i had no use for it anymore...tone was monsterous on it with my jp ds-1...but the little 15watt marshall mimicks is so nicely, it's almost impossible to tell the difference. in fact, i believe the 15watt amp is the best recording tone i have ever gotten over the years...who'd of thought?!

mikesb - it appears that the cubes in my immediate area are not Malm fans... lmao....
no matter how much I try to force the issue they still don't like him.. lmao..

Cuthbert - "When, between work, guitar, and the rest of life did you find time to become such a learned student of history?"
I read when I can, as much as I can.. books, science journals, etc.. watch documentaries.. I visit museums.. and occasionally visit a site [castle, battlefield etc]..
it's not just history though.. I'm actually into anything and everything - history, sub-atomic physics, cosmology, palaeontology, technology and engineering, music [I think.. lol]etc etc.. I go through these phases of stuff that interests me enough to study it..

I never really looked at the Gulf wars as to being justifiable or not... I looked more at a potential cause.... and it still cries out "wealth" to me..

I really didn't know about the 'angle drilling'
shit.. if that's true then it's hardly surprising that Iraq took action...
funny.. if that turns out to be the root cause to all this shit... then the root cause is still wealth... lmao..

"although I get the point of our status as a political entity for a mere 200 + years"

my point is not specifically targeted at the USA... but to all countries.... some borders have stood for over a 1000 years... but didn't land get taken by force at some point...??
does that mean that the people that feel occupied have no claim to recover their nation because they've been the weaker people for more than a 1000 years??...
look at the Kurds, Aboo's in Oz, Indians in the US, Serbs, Zulu's, Masai, Mayan, and the list goes on and on..

962 - bro... you've met me... we done beer.... lol..
at what point does sophistication decide to be assciated with Clarky....

shit.. I thought I saw sophistication once a long time ago...
but I couldn't be sure.. she was too far away...
running like fuck... lmao..

yoda - you lucky bastard.... lol...
fingers crossed indeed..... you spawny get... lmao..
deflino - Malms picking.....

I can play a lot of his stuff..... some of it lends itself to 'non-alternate' picking.... but most of it don't...
the licks he does with 'pedal' notes are definately alternate picking in my opinion....

If were to make a judgement call based on what I know of his music....

I'm pretty sure that he is mostly an alternate picker..

Zen - for me, shredding is just an effect... like a delay or phaser... you turn it on and off to create an impact upon the overall tone....

the delivery is where the spirit and passion take control...
the complete delivery goes further than just the shred..
the shred is just a moment within a greater thing that is driven by the spirit of creativity..

Mowlie - jeez... I didn't realise I was being ever funny....

now I need to talk to my personal brain care specialist again...

cuthbert - the reason I raise the 'age of borders' thing is because peoples such as the Serbians have only every been a nation for a few times.. for a few fleeting years over the last 2000.. having been part of Rome, Ottoman Turkey, Habsberg Austria, Yugoslavia over the years....
yet for 2000 years, the Serbian people have had the identity of a nation... but always under occupation... and never allowed to claim their land as their own...
similar to Palestine, Kurdistan etc....
politically it's a real nightmare..

Mikey, it's a co-worker with the health problem, and it's my neice with the sore foot. Talked to her this morning. They gave her some pain meds that made her super hyper. They still don't know if anything is broken in her foot. Her foot might be out of commission, but her mouth still works. lol!
