guitarcrazy505, EJ uses mostly pentatonic scales, but while he's doing it he's using pentatonic substitution.
He also states that for his lead playing, he uses "mostly a pentatonic scale with an added 2nd and an added 4th, which probably makes it another scale I don't know the name of"
EJ is the best, his music is incredible. Enjoy working on Cliffs Of Dover!

Hi all,
I have recorded a version of Crystal Planet that I would like you all to check out. It was done using a mate's amp and boss gt-6 just to see what it could do. Its a very rough mix with most of the parts done in one take but overdubbed.
Crystal Planet.
Oh and ten points goes to the person who can hear another satch tune in it!!!

Mahavishnu, hope you & your wife are having a fantastic time at the show right now. Joe ROCKS! As for Dream Theater, getting Train Of Thought is a MUST! It's a killer cd and if you like heavy DT, you'll love this one. Listen to clips at www.cduniverse.com.

JOE,
The Peavey JSX head you designed is da' bomb!!! I can't thank you enough for finally making the tube head I have been waiting for my whole life!
It killed me to wait for it since it was on back order for so many months. But now I see it was worth the wait.
Finally a head with killer dirty tones and an actual killer clean channel. I use a T.C. Electronics G Major and some stomps into my old Marshall cabs which are loaded with a mix of celestions.
It blows every other amp out there of the water! And most of them cost 2 and 3 times as much. Finally someone who understands what I want in an amp!! 8>)
I was bummed about the lack of built in reverb. But after talking to Peavey about how there was no room in the head to put a top quality spring chamber. I realized why. You didn't chince on any part of this head. I have the G major for reverb and all other FX anyway.
It was a pleasure and life long goal to met you, Steve, and Billy Sheehan during G3. Last year @ the Kewick Theatre in Glenside Pa. I achieved that goal along with my wife and daughter.
You were all very cool and down to earth with no egos.
DEMO A JSX PEOPLE! Bring your favortie axe, IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!
Thx Joe, 8>)

to anyone that has been wondering what kinda shit i been up to...
for the past month, month and a half i have been battling many issues. it all started with carpal tunnel which crippled my ability to play guitar for quite a long time. while battling that, my (at the time) girl friend of 2.5 years...her brother was hit by a car on his 11th birthday and did not make it though the night. we were devistated...after about 2 weeks that this had happened, my g/f christine ended up losing a few screws, and broke it off with me...life has been rough...but i've fought out of the hole it threw me in. I finally got back into recording and sat down with Brett to write today. we ended recording a new demo...basically the first thing i've done musically in a while...and any one that listens to it' i'd really appreciate any thoughts -- it's not a REAL studio track, it's raw tones...raw mixes...just a concept at the moment...
New Course Of Evolution Demo
just wanted to say thanks to a few people here who have been there with some kind words throgh this past month....marimariSRV..hamdo......joe. thank you all...
