bahduh - I did respond to your comments about Pain Of Salvation...although if it was in one of my huge posts, you might have missed it. Basically... I have heard of the band, but I haven't heard any of their music. I saved the album titles that you suggested...next time I have some money, I'll buy one or two of them. That won't be for a while (Weeks? Months?) though...because I also have a stack of about 15 CDs that I've bought over the past month that I still haven't had the chance to listen to. ;-) I'll let you know what I think as soon as I get to listen to them. I'll do the same with Lacuna Coil, the other band you recommended.

DT's SFAM is a great DVD...but Live At Budokan blows it away. Man, I wish you were able to see it somehow.

I'm not sure if I understand your question about Z.Z. I think he's more of a guitarist than he is a drummer...

thedevilsslide - No, Ibanez doesn't make left-handed JS guitars.

The effect you're probably wondering about on Raspberry Jam Delta-V is a DigiTech whammy pedal.

962 - I'm not defending Bush. I don't think he's done the best job as President, and I'm not going to vote for him.

Michael Moore should know that you can criticize Bush without being deceptive and without manipulating events to imply things that aren't true. Why didn't he make an honest documentary? If he did, I would probably agree with his point of view. Oh, wait...if he was honest, he wouldn't piss people off, he wouldn't be as famous as he is, and he wouldn't make as much money as he has.

I don't like him because he's distorting the truth when he doesn't need to. He's adding more lies (or deceptions or whatever you want to call them) to the whole situation...he may be shining light on some problems, but he's also unnecessarily creating other ones.

j0ak0 - That date is listed in the road section, so I would have to say it is official.
matt king - Thanks for sharing that... I think you sent me an early version of that (or maybe I've just already heard it). Either way, it sounds very cool. :-)
PhryDom - Thanks for stopping by... :-)
Fretslayer - That's a great way to start your DVD collection...here are a few more must-haves:

G3 - Live In Concert
Led Zeppelin - DVD
Rush - In Rio
Dream Theater - Live At Budokan

Suzie2000 - Jazzzzzzzy doesn't like the number 13.

EEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!!! Another HUGE hairy spider in my living room! This one came strolling over the floor as if he owned the place. It's MY apartment, goddammit! Normally I would have thrown him out the balcony but he was just too big and scairy so I smashed him. Now I feel bad. I'll probably have nightmares tonight about him and his 50 hairy spider friends, coming to beat me up. Ugh.

jazzy Sorry for the late answer, I've been jammed with stuff this week. No, 9-ball is not Scandinavian, in fact it most likely stems from America and it's hugely popular all over the world. It's the most popular pool game ever. But in my opinion there are other games that are funnier to play. ;-) BTW, I'm reee-e-e-e-ally jealous about your three shows and two backstage passes!

marimari Thanks for all the jokes you send me, they're funny! I loved those bad Halloween costumes lol! NAMM? Sounds great! Have a blast!

austin I had considerable problems with the webshop when I wanted to pre-order Vai's new cd. I still have an order listed there for 4 copies instead of 2 as it won't let me change it and I can't seem to log out and log back in again... But no, the score wasn't listed in the checkout procedure for me either. Since I didn't go through with the order I haven't received a written confirmation yet though. I have sent them an e-mail about it, hopefully they can sort it out soon.

My T2J cd has arrived! Yay! I'll give it a listen this weekend and let you guys know what I think.

Am I wrong or have they changed the font used when you write a new message? It looked better before, now it's harder to read, the letters sort of melt into each other...

Suzie2000........

OH MY GOSH??? Do I like Satch? Heck yes!!! Love him! Love his music. We have all the DVD's, CD's, tab books, other stuff, t-shirts, etc!! He is totally awesome!

I have to confess, I had become something of an old fart in my music choices, mainly listening to country with some classical, but since my son started guitar I've come to appreciate jazz, blues and now rock again! Liked rock when I was a teenager, but slowly got away from it. I'm so glad my son discovered Satch, as his music has totally brightened our lives in many ways!!!

We are traveling to San Fran Dec 26th just to see Joe, and are really hoping they open up the second night of music, so everybody needs to buy tickets and sell out the first night! And if he comes anywhere near Oregon, Washington, Nevada and most of California, we'll be there! We may be newer Satch fans, but he'll never lose us!

Cheese101- or Tracie- sorryI didn't realise you were such a fan!

I must admit, when I was in my teens I loved all the heavy metal stuff, but recently have started getting back into it! I've played piano since I was about 9, quit it when I was 14, got back into it in my mid-twenties, and keep playing - and love it!

Same in some ways with the guitar, I learned some classical when I was about 13, learned lots of Joni Mitchell style stuff, then married a man who is a classical guitarist, who I just want to listen to! He is teaching me electric guitar though, something I wish I had tried years ago! I just love playing electric guitar.

Hope you get there on Dec 26th!

DamnIMissNamm, you were a guided missile technician? awesome! I'm guessing you know the processes they go through to make those guided missiles hit civilian targets then?

Me get a grip? Well im not gonna get a grip of the same wad of crap that you've got a grip of. I mean really.....you're obviously completely for the war in Iraq. Tell me, in your mind, what was the justification for bombing Iraq for the last 12 years?

Also I want to know, what do you think it was about the war on afghanistan that made it all worthwhile?

And finally, the most important question I'd like to hear your answer to - what was it that linked 9/11 and the decimation of Afghanistan, to WMD's and the invasion of Iraq?

Fretslayer, how awesome is Vai's Live At The Astoria DVD? One of the coolest bits for me was Virgil's Drum Solo! That man is incredible, I wish he was still in the Vai band!

By the way, I thoroughly recommend the Toto 25th Anniversary Live In Amsterdam DVD, if you like that kinda thing. It's a great show, as was G3 '96, but you may already have that on VHS!

Austin, I understand your point of view, but my only comment is that I think it is better to use selective evidence to make the guilty people look bad, than it is to make the guilty people look innocent.

So maybe Mike did make a dishonest, biased documentary, but he was doing something unfavorable in the face of a bigger moral issue. He was doing it with the aim of showing up the massive injustice that the world's most powerful leader has caused.

I've just got back form being round a friends house...been drinking and ofcourse girls were present, had one hell of a good time and yes...am slightly tipsy right now.

On the ride home my dad was trying to convince me I was drunk, I told him about there being a meatloaf dvd being out and so on, and I also said how it would never be as good quality as Joe's LISF DVD...to which he said "Michael Satriani? Whose that? Joe's brother?"
Obviously proclaiming I said Joe, I knew what he was upto...anywayz, I'm feeling tired and I probably need to spend atleast 14hrs sleeping...

Hey Joe, Big time fan here. Caught you at G3 this year, Tower Records and have recently bought a lot of your DVDs (Satch Tapes, G3: Live In Denver, and Live in San Fransisco). I was just curious, how you get that great tone. I know you have a new amp out, can't afford it right now, wish I could. I've heard you use below normal mids, and you use the DS-1 for your leads. I own a DS-1 and I can't get any of your tones. I've tried everything with an equalizer....just can't get it as smooth. Could you tell me how you get such smooth tones as in Always With Me, Always With You, Love Thing, The Extremist, or Satch Boogie for that matter. I'd appreciate it. Keep up they playin'! Love the music.

Suzie2000, no problem, you don't have to be sorry, I'm just an enthusiastic Joe fan! As I think most everyone here is! I think I've picked up that you may live overseas? It's way cool to be able to talk to people from all over the world, or read their posts. Maybe the world would be better if we all spent time communicating like this and getting to know each other.

TheBob: don't despair, I'm still hopeful that Joe will come north, so we just have to keep our fingers crossed. And Ken the Fireman from this site said once upon a time that Joe loves to play Portland, so maybe he will remember his northwest fans soon!!

Woohoo...I had a Bacon Cheeseburger Feast pizza from Domino's tonight. :-)

Hehehe...Joe is playing a concert in St. Louis tomorrow. I just found out my uncle is going to that show. He's never seen Satch live, so I know he'll be blown away...but I know he's also going to be bummed that he can't watch the Cardinals in Game 2 of the World Series.
Suzie2000 - I don't believe in "lucky" or "unlucky" numbers, but 13 has always been my favorite number.
dragonchild - I also posted my question on Vai.com, and Mikey got back to me almost immediately. He said he can't check on individual orders (only the people at MusicToday can do that), but at the time of his message 2,000 people had not yet placed preorders.

So...that means I'll get a score print. That also means that your order confirmation won't say whether or not you'll get a score. So I guess we'll have to assume Mikey or someone will remove the reference to the free score once 2,000 orders have been placed...

Good luck hearing back from MusicToday. ;-) I've emailed them several times (about DMB things), and I've only received a response once. Also...you might want to read all of the details about the score giveaway...I think someone on the Vai.com boards said the giveaway was only open to US residents.

962 - Thanks for mentioning that Toto DVD again...I still need to get that.

"I think it is better to use selective evidence to make the guilty people look bad"

There's nothing wrong with that...but then, Michael goes one more step and takes something that isn't bad at all (in its proper context) and adds it to the negative evidence to make a bad situation look worse than it actually is.

"he was doing something unfavorable in the face of a bigger moral issue"

The "one more step" I mentioned is unfavorable, but it is also unnecessary. If you're okay with that, this is where we disagree.

TravisHodges - Joe's setting on the DS-1 is 9 o'clock, 5 o'clock, and 2 o'clock. He also has one of the older (Made In Japan) DS-1 pedals.
optical studio - "I aplogize for not knowing how to hypwerlink! remebber though I am still learning!"

I wrote out some instructions that are more detailed than the ones on the site here. Click here...

Mr Nick - If you just want to practice writing HTML, you can write code in Microsoft Word, save it as an HTML file, and view it from your computer (without uploading it to the internet) using your web browser.

Good music lovers amongst you!

Good evening (morning) from Guildford...

Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard) is soon to release a new album called ONE. I stayed up all night for the listening party the other night, and this album is phenomenal- it features the mighty Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater/Transatlantic/Liquid Tension Experiment/Whatever other band he happens to be playing in this week) on drums amongst some other talented musicians.

I cannot recommend this album strongly enough. Go to http://www.nealmorse.com and check out the samples if you want to know roughly what it sounds like- this album is soooo good.

I just had to say that... you're missing out if you don't listen, but it's of no bother to me if you don't :)

Well, I finally saw Joe for the first time last night in Chicago. I don't know what to say...WOW. I was excited enough just to be able to go to the concert, but to further the experience we ended up getting a private box for the night with the perfect view! Being under 5 ft with most of the waking world towering over me I usually don't get to see much of the action at shows. It was just awesome being close enough to see his fingers flying. Although in the excitement of the moment I had too many rum and cokes and ended up swimming with the music, it was still the best night ever and just the inspiration I needed to get me excited about practicing again. Maybe not having been to a concert in 7 years might have something to do with it too, but last night sealed the deal. Satriani is a true virtuoso and now even more my hero. Seeing his talent in the flesh was just an unexplainable experience. My small fingers will never master the fretboard like that but it's good to have a dream. Amazing. Thank you Joe!

JUST GOT BACK FOR SEEING JOE! MY HEAD NEEDS RECOVERY....AND I AM GOING DEAF BECAUSE OF MR. PEAVEY...

bahduh: I dont like WWF or WWE or whatever it is called now...After I realised the whole thing was staged, I lost interest. I used to be a huge fan when I was 11. My fave was The Undertaker.

cheese101: There is probably nothing left for me to say about Joe's concerts that others have not said! He was on fire all three nights and I was super happy to hear starry night, motorcycle driver and Time.

Optical Studio: I will definitely look for a new home! It needs to find its place in life! Try getting online sometime!

962: Totally agree with you. Totally.
