Thanks for the correction.

Maybe I should hire you as my proof reader.

Quick question: Anybody now when Joe will do any Los Angeles dates for the "Evening With" shows? I can't make the Anaheim show on 1/1/05, but I suspect he'll do some L.A. shows shortly afterward. Thanks!

The show on Saturday was simply unreal.

As I am young, I haven't had ample opportunity to go to many concerts at all, much less many of Joe's, in fact, aside from this past weekend I've only attended a single other Satch show (At the Riv in '02). As incredible as the concert two years ago was, Saturday's show outdid it by several notches. The Platinum Experience was definately worthwhile, as it gave me a chance to meet my idol, and even though I froze up a bit when given the opportunity to ask questions and whatnot, just seeing the living legend up close was more than fulfilling. The on-stage tour was also intriguing, although there wasn't much action going on before the show since they had been in town for three days already. My uncle plays for a Chicago band (the Chicago Catz), and I've seen their stage setup; Joe's setup makes theirs look comperable to a teenage garage band's setup. The show itself? Magnificant. I was close enough that I could lean on the stage, see his setlist (glow in the dark and duct taped to the floor next to his pedals), and have unplugged his pedals had I so desired. 3 Hours of ridiculously incredible guitar playing had me absolutely spellbound. The improv version of Always with me, Always with you was particularly notable, but the remake of Sleepwalk, Searching, and of course, Surfing with the Alien were other personal favorites of mine. A flawless performance as far as I could tell, and one I would pay the same price to see again. _________________________________________________ A side note: I heard a rumor that the next G3 is possibly being planned with John Mclaughlin (of Mahavishnu Orchestra), can anyone confirm or deny that?

Many thanks to Joe for the show, it was the best birthday present I've had.

962 - "I personally thought the interesting bit was that Bush's cronies tried to get the paper shut down"

Your original post said "George W" tried to get the paper shut down. Which is it? There's a HUGE difference between the president trying to shut down a newspaper and a friend or a supporter trying to do it.

"I gotta be careful what I share now, cause the International Thought Police (ITP) might arrest me,"

If you plan on sharing things (presenting things as facts) that are incorrect or untrue, then yeah, you should be careful. I would not have thought that needed to be pointed out.

This ITP stuff is just ridiculous.

"all just because, shock-horror, I shared an opinion"

What opinion did you share? "George W is trying to get said newspaper shut down." was presented not as an opinion but as a fact. That's the only thing I took issue with...

immortal5150 - Hehehe...that's a creative way to give away the extra ticket. Cool...
Mr Nick - "or you can download dreamweaver from kazaa"

Or I can do the right thing and pay for a legal copy of it... ;-)

cuthbert1776 - "While watching the Colts get beat by the Jagulars, CBS used an excerpt from "The Extremist" as bumper music"

Cool... I was really looking forward to watching that game, but it wasn't televised on CBS out here! We got an extra-looong post game show instead...and they even showed highlights from the Colts game as it was being played. I was bummed...

Since you live in IN, do you know why that might've happened? Did the Colts lose a nationwide television contract or something? Do you know if there was something specific about this game that caused it to not be televised way out here?

hoiguy79 - Set your DS-1 to 9 o'clock, 5 o'clock, and 2 o'clock...

...Austin...

I end up correcting many mistakes I see as well (at work, home, in the newspaper).

Some are stylistic, others are just wrong and need to be corrected.

Just wondering.

what i don't get is why so many peopledo the stupid thing of downloading expensive software for free, illegaly, when there are good laternatives which are free and legal.

have you guys never heard of Linux? If you're truly annoyed with Microsoft, if you really want stuff for free without screwing someone over in the business, get Linux. Virtually every program for it is free. It's a little work in settingh up sure, but you get the added bonus of making Bill Gates unhappy with you. Surely that's worth it.

For musicians- Ardour is a high-quality digital audio workstation for Linux that is free and pretty much as powerful as ProTools. There are software synths, modular synthesis programs, drum machines, anything you dare to think of.

Instead of behaving like shoplifters and pretending that what you do isn't a crime, why not do something good? It'll benefit you, and the makers of the products.

</rant>

If anyone's annoyed by this, feel free to be so. I've just woken up at 12.10am (after 90 minutes sleep), having spent all day in the studio, and I have to go back there in a minute for abouther 6 hours of sessioning.

I am interested in getting my hands on an Ibanez Chromeboy JS model. Is there anywhere in the USA or where i live here in Canada where i can purchace one. Joe i love your music and love to play my cd's and jam along with them. I think my dream is to go to one of your concerts and get up on stage and play a few songs with you. From Raspberry Jam to Memories to Rubina and the crush of love i think we could have a sweet jam. You , Joe , are the one influence that makes my guitar playing rock. Thankyou so much!!

Zinc Master- I was one of the kids who met him before the show...the one with the signed DVD...the hispanic kid. If I recall correctly, you're the attorney who used to play guitar but gave it up? Wearing the white Satch shirt, with the 10 year old son who just started the snare drum?
