Hi, this is chris, I'm sixteen and a guitar player, (three years)
I had a question for another guitar player. I was wondering if anyone out there knew the song SMF, and was experienced enough to tell me what joes approximate eq, dist, settings are, Etc.
I would really appreciate help, as this is one of my favorite satch songs.
Thanks, Chris

Stace, MapQuest directions to the Sovereign Center - 700 Penn Street,
Reading, PA 19602 - from your house and see how many miles it says, then let me know. lol!
baduh, How about naming the baby Joe :) The baby will cry because he misses his nice warm dark home in mommy's belly. Try not to take it to hard. Hold him and love him and let him know he is loved. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your wife. My Indian friend at work went in to the hospital today. They think something might be wrong with her heart. She's been so tired lately. I will call her first thing in the morning to check on her. My prayers keep getting longer and longer :)
Steven, "See What a couple'a Valium's will do!" A couple of Valium would have me out and drooling for days bro! lol! Have a Red Bull. It gives you wings! lol!
guitarded boy, hope you're having a fantastic time right now at the show. So sorry to hear about your cousin. At 18, he's still just a kid. Where abouts in PA do you have to go? I'm hanging out over here on the right side of the state.
Ya Yo, I agree with Austin. I think you might have your deal set up wrong. Yngwie sounds just as good as Joe and Steve in the mix. Mess around a bit and see if you can get it straightened out.
Mahavishnu, seeeeee, would we lie about a thing like that? Live At Budokan is great, isn't it :)
Cheese 101, Chris, SMF is one of my favorite songs also. One of the best Satch songs ever written!! I don't play guitar, so I can't help you with your question though. Hope someone else can.
SupaaDave, does that make them the Supaa Red Sox?? lol!

HEY EVERYONE,
Ok, so everyone here obviously must enjoy some instrumental rock because we are all satriani fans. I've been playing steady guitar for roughly 5 years now, I have a website with some sound files and a few videos and stuff. I would really appreciate it if some of you would check out my website and listen to some sound clips or whatever. All feedback is welcome. And if any of you out there have something to listen to, send me a link, Ill put it on my site, it would definately help get some of our music floating around.
I should have posted something like this earlier, and I have no clue why I didn't :)

Mahavishnu - We told you DT's Live At Budokan was good, didn't we? ;-) What are your favorite songs so far? I don't know if I can pick a few...I love everything. Maybe I'll be able to come up with a short list of favorites when I watch it again this weekend (tomorrow?).
What Dream Theater albums do you have?
climber - Yeah, the rhythm guitar is a little high in the mix. I especially notice it before the solo that kicks in about halfway through (the last chord you hit just rings out every time and makes everything muddy [I assume you know what chord I'm talking about...if not, I can be more specific.]). If you ask Clarky to listen to your track, he can probably offer some EQing advice...
Zenfish - LOL...yeah, I was wondering why everyone started thinking cuthbert1776 suddenly had another kid. ;-)
...Austin...

Zen "Hollywood Stink" Phish: Have you banged a guitar? Well, here is a suggestion...try acid and red wine....it'll blow your mind....Jim Morrison, Hendrix and SRV will appear in front of you and start jamming...trust me, it works.
You should also try mushroom tea. Its pretty groovy....

Hi Joe, I really enjoyed the concert last night. I was the dude that asked you for a pic when the show was over, but what I really meant was Picture. Thanks for signing my guitar, it looks awesome. I thought the set list was awesome, you mixed it up alot instead of hearing the same things over and over. (seen you 5 times, and after a while You can only here the hits so many times). Anyways I thought I would just say hey since I froze up last night and couldn't really think of anything to say besides, good, show, and can you sign my guitar.
BTW, have you ever thought about doing an acoustic album? Just wondered. I would love to here a samll set of acoustic stuff, anyways
Thanks for a wonderful night :)

The Thirsty Taliban
A fleeing Taliban, desperate for water, was plodding
through the Afghanistan desert when he saw something
far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he walked
toward the object, only to find a little old Jewish man sitting at a card table with neckties laid out on it.
The Arab asked, "My thirst is killing me. Do you have
water?"
The Jew replied, "I have no water. Would you like to
buy a tie? They are only $150. This one goes very nicely
with your robes."
The Arab shouted, "Idiot! I do not need an overpriced
tie. I need water!"
"OK," said the old Jew, "it does not matter that you do not want to buy a tie. I will show you that you have not
offended me. If you walk over that hill to the east for about four miles, you will find a lovely restaurant. Go! Walk that way! The restaurant has all the water you need!"
The Arab staggered away toward the hill and eventually
disappeared. Four hours later the Arab came crawling
back to where the Jewish man was sitting at his table.
The Jew said, "I told you, about four miles over that hill. Could you not find it?"
"I found it all right," rasped the Arab. "Your brother would not let me in without a tie."

The Plows Must Get Through!
One winter morning a couple was listening to the radio over breakfast. They hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street so the snowplows can get through."
Norman's wife goes out and moves her car.
A week later while they are eating breakfast and again, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street so the snowplows can get through."
Norman's wife goes out and moves her car again.
The next week they are again having breakfast when the radio announcer says "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park---" and right then the power goes out.
Norman's wife is very upset, and with a worried look on her face she says, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowplows can get through?"
With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, Norman says, "Sweetie, why don't you just go ahead and leave it in the garage just this once?"
The fact that the wife is a blonde is of no consequence.

I went to the concert last night, very awesome. I'll write a more detailed review later. Unfortunally, I did not get to meet Joe, he wasn't around afterwards, but maybe I didn't wait long enough. Oh well, it still was fun.
