Clarky, I definitely agree with you on the whole age of the universe thing......theoretical physics may be easy to pick holes in, but you can't really do much to undermine the speed of light. If a star is ten billion lightyears away and we can see it, i'm guessing that kinda buggers the theory of "the good book".

opticalstudio, haha, thanks dude, you're too kind! I'll have to be patient I think and see what happens in a few years time.....the music industry is really hard to judge, mainly cause of the music media.....bastards!
michelle, haha, that's hilarious! Sounds potentially painful too! Yeah you can tell from that photo that Joe's mom is just full of pride.....she looks so happy to be there with him, it's lovely!

thanks for checkin out those tunes, glad you liked them! Just wondering, which one did you listen to first and which second? Was it Red Square first? you said the second one "got you with the bounce", and I'm just wondering which was the second track you listened to! hehe. Sorry, that was one long-ass question!

Veteran CBS News Anchor Dan Rather to Resign

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Veteran newsman Dan Rather, embroiled in a recent journalism scandal about President Bush (news - web sites)'s service in the National Guard during the Vietnam War, will resign in March as the CBS network's top news anchor, the network said on Tuesday.

CBS, a unit of Viacom, said Rather will remain as a correspondent for the news magazine show "60 Minutes" and other assignments.

"I have decided to leave the CBS Evening News on March 9, 2005," Rather said in a statement issued by CBS.

"I have been lucky and blessed over these years to have what is, to me, the best job in the world and to have it at CBS News," he added.

Rather said he began talks in the summer with his bosses about when would be an appropriate time to step down and decided to wait until after the recent election, which saw Bush elected for a second term.

Rather has been anchor for CBS's main evening news show since 1981 and won the hearts of many with his colorful language and quirky turns of phrase. He succeeded Walter Cronkite, dubbed "the most trusted man in America" for his perceived objectivity.

But in an enormous blow to its credibility, CBS News in September said it had been deliberately misled over the authenticity of documents it aired in a story challenging Bush's military service.

"Based on what we now know, CBS News cannot prove that the documents are authentic, which is the only acceptable journalistic standard to justify using them in a report," CBS News said in a statement at that time.

Rather, who reported the story, was forced to apologize on national television.

Hey Joe, i know your busy and probably wont get this, but i thought i'd try.

Ive been playing guitar for a year and a half, and id say ive gone pretty far for that amount of time. There is so much to do to get better. I can handle the practice and everything i need to do to get better, but there is this one thing i cant stand. When i play fast, its hard to keep my right hand picking and left hand PERFECTLY in sequence. What should i do?

and...

I have a les paul studio and i like it, but it isnt too playable in the higher frets. So i want a second guitar, this time, light, easy to play, great upper fret access, and whammy bar. What should i look at?

Great music joe, keep up the hard work. Maybe one day we'll be on g3 together....in 5-10 years lol.

The Top 20 Homeland Security Measures Adopted for the Holiday Season

20> Anti-reindeer missiles sit poised and ready on the White House lawn.

19> In honor of our Saviour, all Middle-Eastern looking guys with beards are detained indefinitely.

18> Macaulay Culkin is put in charge of the Department of Homeland Security -- at least until his parents come home.

17> "Racial Profiling for Dummies" hits bookstores in time for Christmas.

16> Mandatory cavity search upon arrival at or departure from every household in North America means Santa can't sit down for a week.

15> New DoD memo states: "Muslims held in Guantanamo will be allowed to fast for Ramadan. This is completely different from the regular starvation diet they are accustomed to, so be sure to point out the difference to any troublemakers."

14> Fruitcake is officially declared a WMD.

13> The day after Thanksgiving, the phrase "Freeze, turkey!" is heard more frequently at airports than in kitchens.

12> White House fireplaces kept burning to prevent chimney invasions by religious fanatics. (Religious fanatics with campaign contributions still welcome.)

11> Tim Allen is sent to Abu Ghraib, lest he start work on yet another Christmas movie.

10> Making its first appearance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is the Osama bin Laden float. He is sporting a giant "Have you seen this man?" sign and seems to be giving America the finger.

9> Continental U.S. is declared a no-fly zone on Christmas Eve, except for the bin Laden family.

8> Rather than issuing the traditional pardon, President Bush designates his Thanksgiving turkey an enemy combatant and orders it held without trial.

7> Standard-issue Abu Ghraib anal probes now decorated as festive candy canes.

6> A certain bearded foreigner is caught flying through restricted airspace on Christmas Eve and sent to Guantanamo without a trial. Meanwhile, Halliburton gets the no-bid gift-delivery contract.

5> All strip searches at airports will now be conducted under the mistletoe!

4> When Dick Cheney is standing before the nation warning of impending doom, unrelenting violence and the imminent death of millions of innocent Americans based on info that may or may not be true, this time he'll be wearing a Santa hat and elf shoe

3> Newly added threat-level alert colors: gold, myrrh, eggnog and nutmeg.

2> Every child frisked and strip-searched by the FBI before being allowed to sit on Santa's lap. Volunteer agents Jeffrey Jones and Michael Jackson are on the case!

and the Number 1 Homeland Security Measure Adopted for the Holiday Season...

1> Outright ban on any nativity scene with 72 Virgin Mary statuettes.

Limbless, I have the same problem with keeping my right and left hands in perfect sync at higher tempo.....some people would suggest playing with a metronome until you fix the problem, but I'm not convinced....

regards your other question; those all important words....easier higher fret access. If you can afford it, I would thoroughly recommend a Washburn N4. It's a Nuno Bettencourt model, and you sometimes see them hangin around ebay, averaging about a grand. They have the best upper-register access I've found, they are awesome to play, and have an original Floyd Rose bridge, so you can be assured it's whammy is about as good as it'll get!

Suzie, I get those recurring colds from time to time, but 6 weeks is badass! Nevermind lemsip and stuff like that....sounds like you need 1-Shot Drain Cleaner, or TNT! Hope it clears quickly, 6 weeks has gotta be really irritating?!
Interesting story of the day - the US military has lost a whole bunch of weapons, ranging from planes and boats, to small arms. I'm not sure of the value of the loss - it's either 90 million dollars, or far worse, 90 billion. I think it's the latter, but I'm not sure.
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/simondaultreymusic.htm
Opticalstudio, dude, you rock! I really appreciate your kind words. thanks! I've met people before who have been kinda like those you described....you know, very competitive, arrogant, possibly compensating for a lack of something, if you catch my drift?!

I just try to keep realistic about it all, and slowly work away at my goals and ideals. I don't have much time for people who say "im the best, youre shit, im faster than you"....it's all so trivial!

I think that's why I love the attitude of Joe, Eric Johnson and Igor Belsky so much.....they're so modest and nice about things!

Sorry, my rambling light is on! hehe. Cheers dude!

962 out, back thursday.
