"The fact is, with Halo 2, the only mention he got was in the final, rolling credits - "Steve Vai appears courtesy of Epic Records" or Capitol Records, whoever it was. That really surprised me."

I can't say that really suprised me, I know that to us "guitar-geeks" (meant in the most positive way) it is a massive deal and hearing it was great news. But to "normal" people it probably doesn't matter that much. I was however suprised that in the "making of:" dvd they didnt have a mention of him in the "audio" chapter.

this was in some American 90's war movie, was it Full Metal Jacket? ...where did they get it from? ...real life; USMarines?

962: I was serious when I said that -13 degrees celsius is pretty ideal for winter outdoor activities (my son's hockey team was training outdoors. He had just normal underwear under his equipment and he was swetting). When it gets cold here (and it gets a couple of times every winter) there's below -30 celsius = below -22 Fahrenheits. In those conditions you need to do more than just stand in the middle of your clothes to survive.

I got one all set up - now I have forgotten my username and password.

I have tried everything - and cannot get in.

Just ranting here - really pissed at myself.

Noppa....you are correct, it was in fact Full Metal Jacket. And considering that the Marine drill Sgt. in the movie was a Marine drill Sgt. in real life, it's a safe bet that it's an actual song that Marines are made to sing during basic training.

SOTD......"War"......oh what the heck, how about the whole Extremist album !!

SupaaDave: (nice coincides coming up) Have you heard Extreme's album "III sides to every story"? ...the first song "Warheads" starts with this nice chat by a Drill instructor ...and I bet my nuts that it's the same guy that in that movie "Full Metal Jacket" !!! ...go listen to it!

Edit: The guy's name was mentioned on the cd sleeve: Sgt. Philip Meyers. Now we'll just have to check the guy's name in the movie...

Edit II: ...lost my nuts...but he really sounds the same...

Edit III: ...[in a whining self-pity voice] welll...at least it's a Happy 150 for me then, now isn't it...

Epic Records...

The jemfest interview is pretty good.

He talks about the G3 in South America.

- a possible web cast concert

- maybe 1 or 2 3G's next year (details to come)

- maybe a live record since he recorded a ton of shows recently.

- maybe a new video concert as well (yet to be determined)

- wants to record next year for a new release

this is at about 20 minutes into the interview

I was just outside in front of our house smoking my late night cigarette (it's 10:50 pm here...and still -13 degrees Celsius) and I saw this group of youngsters walking with their beer bottles starting up their weekend, without hats...and same guys were wearing those hip-hop fashion style hats last summer (when it was +27 Celsius = about 81 Fahrenheits), even inside.

...Stupid dumb asses. Not even a clue about manners; to wear a hat inside!

My father-in-law has ballsed up something on our computer and somehow erased those basic games Minesweeper and Solitaire that are usually on most computers- you know, the ones with crap graphics but which are at the same time HUUUUUUUUGELY addictive?

Anyone know how I can get them back? :-(

Zinc Master, haha, dude I feel your pain. I once set up an Ebay account and forgot both my username and password, and my security question! haha, dumb shit....I had to set up a new account under my mum's name!

Delfino, well exactly....I mean, I wouldn't expect anything abnormal, but I was surprised that they didn't mention him in the Audio chapter of the specials....I mean, he's pretty damn important man! As are Incubus!
jazzzzzzy, you check your e-mail, biatch! hehe. j/k dude! Seriously tho...check yours!
Alexandre, yeah Nuno's quite a varied musician, he's awesome!

Yeah I liked your site amigo! I really like the appearance - it's very fresh, and relaxing, and smart to browse through, which is excellent. I find a lot of sites can be plain confusing, and very slow, but yours seems logical and pretty fast, even with my stupidly slow connection!

Your downloads feature is nice and fast and consistent too. Good job! Hope you have a cool weekend too bro, I hope your ear infection clears up!

Noppa, you know, I'd love to live in a place where we get a proper winter....a place where it's actually possible to play things like Ice Hockey! It sounds awesome, I bet it's really beautiful when the Sky is crystal clear and the snow has frozen to everything....I love that kinda weather!

-30 is not to be messed with! I'd definitely class that as "cold"!

Useless fact of the day - the coldest place on Earth is in the very middle of Siberia. It gets to -65 Celcius in the day!

evbro, happy birthday, and hey, 22 ain't all bad! At least you're not as old as you will be in 12 months! err.......whoops
Suzie, haha, he erased minesweeper and solitaire? I tried for years to do that! hehe. Sorry, I dunno how to get them back. Now that you mentioned it, I went looking for them on my computer, and couldn't find them anywhere! Curious......maybe they're an option.....
edit: code error. Mental note - always check those square brackets, or your entire post could end up being Italic!
