Well I am glad to finally have settled after moving once again. We are now in Bellingham, Washington. A little slower pace than Seattle, not near as busy. I also turned 41 one today, but I still fill like I'm 20 or so. I see about a million post I will never be able to catch up on. Hope you are all well.

Clint

Clarky:

I finally found a EL34 100/100 with a 1960 B-cab to hook up my 2101 GSP to. I remember from our previous discussions, you had an interest in this amp also. A guy who worked at a music store had a band mate who was nice enough to let me try his out. It was ok, better than all the tube 1/2 stacks Marshall makes, but not what I was hoping for. It seems my processor doesn't like Marshall products, and I have tried them all.

Another guy at another store suggested trying my 2101 thru the JSX with a 5150 B-cab. :-)))) BINGO!!! I am now hooked. This combination is the sound I am looking for. It is as loud as you want to get, and the response my picking style is great. I am going to get two of them, each with a 5150 B-cab. If you can ever try this combination, let me know what you think. I have been trying my 2101 with different tube amps for over 6 months now. I have finally made my decision on which ½ stacks I will get. I gave Marshall chance after chance (because I really wanted one) to satisfy my desires, and they could not deliver what I was looking for. It looks like Peavey is selling two more JSXs along with 5150 cabs. I will get one while am here in Washington and the other when I return home to Louisiana next year.

DonaLee - Welcome to the site! It's cool that you've shared Joe's music with your children and grandchildren. :-)

Stevee T - "how'd you like to be told your latest creation is No Good"

Looking at it from another way...would you like to record a piece of music and have everyone tell you that it's perfect, even if they don't like it? What good does that do you? I think honesty is the best way to go...

nightrain - Joe no longer gives public guitar lessons...sorry.
bahduh - Woohoo...you finally have ITLIS?... :-) I'd love to hear your thoughts on it after you listen to it a few times. If you want, I can dig up my old review of it so you can read it...

I'll email you a link to my Yes / Dream Theater review.

GODGUNSGUITARS - Happy birthday! :-)

Joe, I just purchased Pro Tool LE/M-Box for OS X. During your Crystal Planet CD I read an interview where you mentioned that you purchased a Digi 001 for your system. In the interview you mentioned that you would record your tracks panned at 12:00. Does that apply to all your tracks or just to solos? I would also like to say you have been my biggest influence since I can remember.THANK YOU for all the lessons in Guitar( for the practicing musician). Without them my playing would'nt be where it's today. The new CD is AWESOME!!!! Gnaahh is my favorite song on it. Hail to the Whammy Master! Hope to see you in Chicago again soon.Great show!!! Keep on pickin' Stay Loose!

Something that was posted only a few days ago and was only mentioned in a few posts has "dragged too far"?

What about the new things I brought up in my post yesterday? Do you have answers for those?

You can't say something about me that is based on absolutely nothing, not respond to questions about it, and then consider yourself to have any level of credibility here

Yes, it dragged too far. Got a problem fanboy? What new things you brought up? I didnt see anything new, just you and your rambling. I can totally say one thing about you, you are just like Fox News; claim to be fair and balanced but bend to the extreme of the extreme right. I respond to what I feel like, and arguing with you is like talking to a rock. When I said I quit and dont want to talk about it anymore (because it bothers some people), you just want to drag it along. Post however much you want to, I am not going to respond and I dont give a flying fuck. If you gain some pleasure out of it, argue with someone else. I quit.

Jazzy - yup.. totally agree with you about Ty...

but then we both know...
probably the toughest thing for a creative player is to shed the hero's, create your own vibe and be yourself....

I conciously no longer play along to Satch. Vai, Malmsteen etc etc...
I do so simply to pave my own way....
I've been not playing along with my heros for many years now...
and I'd like to think that I'm developing a distinctive style of my own...
but even so... I still listen back to some of my creations and hear all kinds of influences from Vai, Satch, Malm, UFO, Priest, Slipknot, Rush, Yes, Wagner, Bach, Mozart, Elgar, George Benson, etc etc etc etc .... lmao....

but then... your personal style is the sum of all you've heard, all you've studied, you imagination and your soul....

so I guess it's forgivable that you're hero's "leak" into your own sound...

With Ty.... I believe quite strongly that he is not tapping his full potential...
if he did... he'd be a fuckin' scary player... lol..

so yes... it'd be nice if he dropped in here more...
seems like a pretty cool guy..

DCK - if there is a T2J2... count me in..
Slansh - you are with e-mail....
All you guys flaming Islam......

There is a difference between a muslim and a terrorist...

You can't go hating all muslims due to 911....

Terrorists did this...
they happen to be Muslim, but these guys are not representitive of the entire population of that faith....

That would be like saying that all Catholics are evil because of ETA or the IRA....
and as we know, it's simply not true....

Zen - I figure it's about time I looked at Matheny in detail...... I've not listened to his music for many years.....
in fact I don't have any Metheny CD's

I used to have a tape of a live album a long time ago which was pretty cool... and has vanished...

so... what's your recommendation....

Yoda - If all that comes together you'll have a rig that'll be well envious of for sure......

seems to me like you've done all the right research.... {br]I'm really looking forward to hearing this fired up...

Delfino - the Malm CD to get and learn is Marching Out....

and be real careful too...

seriously.... this album is tendonitis waiting to happen if you over do things...

Godguns - interesting.... when I look at upgrading my backline I'll give it a try.... thanx for the tip-off..

I already have two Marshall 4x12 straight cabs so I won't be looking for cabs.....

I've not actually tried the EL35 100/100 yet.. I've just heard very nice reports about them from guys who's judgement I respect...

right now, there is no great urgency for me to sort out my backline.. but when it happens, I'll check out the JSX and the EL34...

my top priority next purchase will definately be a full left hand conversion to Envy [RG7470]...
which as you can imagine is going to be a reasonably costly trip to a custom builder...

and happy birthday bro...

German guys - can you please help me out....

do any of you guys know of a motor sports tv programme called DSF Motor Spot?

someone mailed me and told me that one of my tunes was played during the show...

can any of you guys confirm that this is or is not true?

962: I think this region 1 and region 2 thing with dvd's is crap! lol Seems like all the third world countries fall under region 3...lol Thanks so much for telling me about Palin. I will definitely order it.

Clarky: I agree with you. Inspirations always show up. I really love Satriani's music but it does not influence my playing. u know what i mean? I love listening to his tracks without really observing technique or skill, i just like his songwriting. Not many guitarists influence my playing....I enjoy listening to shredders but I dont really play or practice to it. I am more influenced by an idea, or a thought rather than by something i heard. I could say Buckethead is the only player who sounds truly original. He creates with a thought in mind, rather than by playing along to someone else.

That being said, being original doesnt mean that a guitarist is good. Look at steve vai...lmao I find ty's music very original, but he kicks a little vai or a little satriani here and there...he could do without that easily....lost in thought is an amazing track, easily whips van halens ass. seriously. I also find your guitar raping awesome...lol The track on the t2j cd, there is one part that sounds a hell lot like a technique used on the master of puppets solo (i think it is called pitch axis theory...i suck at theory....and playing...lol). Just curious as to how you became insanely fast....maybe you can give me an abridged version...lol

early in the freakin morning...today is a big day...a presentation...

Do The Stu....In Respone to "Looking at it from another way...would you like to record a piece of music and have everyone tell you that it's perfect, even if they don't like it? What good does that do you? I think honesty is the best way to go..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------Yes, is the answer, I would like everone to tell me it's perfect, and when I'm writing & recording...perfect is in the back of my mind, but I know, not everyone shares the same tastes...One Man's Heaven, is another Man's Hell.

I have 3 times more material that I don't publish than I do, cause it just don't cut it in my own book!

Any seasoned artist should be able to tell you that the most importart thing...is that...They...The Artist likes their work first, otherwise they wouldn't let it out of the box...unless your a slave to a Record Company.

I am about to post my website & new CD on this site fully knowing that I won't please everyone that hears it...someone's gonna say something that might rub me the wrong way, and if they choose to be vindictive, or stupid...Welcome to The Human Nature Big Leagues !

If CrazyBorg is a Satch fan, then how can he say that "Is There Love In Space", as a Body of work... is THAT much different than ALL of Joe's other Great albums?

On my own CD, I've tried to use the best songs I have. The ones I really, really like...might be the ones that some may not, and vice/versa...Hell my CD's might be the beginning of a new landfill!

I luv Hendrix, but I don't luv EVERY Hendrix tune (forgive me Jimi), but I wouldn't go out of my way to let him know Bad news.

I'm sure Joe himself likes certain tunes of his own more than others, as we all do!

But to say NO GOOD......maybe the person who posted that statement has a languange barrier, and does not fully realize the impact of his own words...or maybe he simply has NO TASTE! I welcome everone's opinion/Honesty, but stupidity is a challange!

Peace, Love & Happiness! Stevee T.
