Do the Stu: Yeah man, I know how to hustle; born in the slums of chicago. I'm only gonna have around 40 bucks after bus and train passes. plus I gotta buy a winter coat. It's a little nipply out here. I had a jacket I really liked last year but I neglected to lock it up in the closet and my brother sold it. That jacket would have lasted for a long time too, if it wasn't for my meddling sibling.

Clarky: Good advice there. About the influence, I probably am influenced by a bunch of guitarists, just not aware probably. Most of the stuff I came up with though, I dont find it correlating with any of the guitarists I listen to in particular. But all together, maybe I built something from various guitarists. I fully agree about Pink Floyd's ability to hit moods really well. I think David Gilmour plays the right notes at the right places. It not excess or little. I am impressed that I did pick up on the pitch axis because knowledge of theory is pretty bad. I play smooth jazz for 80% of the time, because its got a lot of feel to it. But my goal is to become a damn good metal guitarist (Megadeth, Dimmu Borgir, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera...). You see the contrast here. So sometimes I feel like I do not know where to start while practicing. I am not very tolerant with books, but I do not mind reading tabs. I have this book called Metal Lead Guitar vol. 2 by Troy Stetina. Do you think it is any good? Maybe you should write a book sometime :)

SteeveT: I have been playing guitar for 34 years. I started playing air guitar in 1982. Then I switched to a toy guitar (with buttons only) in 1986. I started playing an acoustic in 1992 and then switched to an electric in 1994. But you can still count on me sucking :) About the mp3.com files, I did have some files up but then they restructred the entire website so they took my stuff down. I am planning to get my stuff up there again but I am also looking at soundclick or other websites. If you have contact with Ollyno1uk, he has some of my files. You could ask him.

edit: btw, I am 22. I used to play guitar in hell before 1982.

Cuthbert: 59% americans are dumb...lol I belong to the 41%...lmao

962 Hehe, I can't wait for Halo, playing the multiplayer with friends is a blast on its, own let alone with new vehicles and weapons and such, its gonna be great.

As goes to GTA:SA I haven't seen much of it, but I have been told repeatedly how good it is, an xbox version is a must though, definitly.

Do The Stu lol yeah it was really fun to do about linguistic techniques, I spent about an hour or so just reading through comedy scripts lol...got it done though and to a high standard to methinks.

I got to college today and offered to show my friend one of my transcripts to show him the jokes I chose to use as examples....and I'd only left the whole thing at home lol...I had to walk like a mile home to get it.

Cuthbert You cheeky rascal you...lmao...

Clarky hehe I never knew you were on http://www.ibanezregister.com lol. I dunno how recent the profile thing is on there, but have you got your custom 7-string now?

Also how much did you get each of your Mashall 1960b's for? I'm looking to start saving for a couple...

Hello Satchland!

Been quite busy, working 6 days a week regularly; we are going to make an organizational change on turn of the year and I have to clarify and organize all the administrative change-overs and all that shit...
...okay, bullshit -> to the point:

Oh man, I have found more excellent 'new' rock-albums this year than in the past 5 years...must be the boost I got from here while waiting G3 on this spring talkin' about good music with all you great guys...and girls!

Here are my latest finds: Vince Neil: "Carved In Stone" (-95) -> fucking delicious! ...pretty varying, still in line... I didn't value much mr. Neil as a singer before this, but now I do = excellent over all!

Extreme: "waiting for the puncline" (-95) -> Nuno was on fire on this one (,too) ...this one in also varying, including e.g. a ballad, a pure ROCK-song ("No respect") and an instrumental where Nuno really unleashes himself ("Midnight express") ...and there is the title-song hidden in the 'last' song (comes after a quiet brake!!!)...

If you haven't heard those, go civilize yourself!

Edit: I still have to add "Unleash The Beast" by Saxon (-97) although I already mentioned that over a month ago ...I've listened A LOT of it and it still feels really great (adult-really) -> go get it!

Hope everybody is doing fine! ...I'm gonna go open a nice cold Finnish beer and lift my feet on the living-room table...and listen some excellent rock-music.

Laters...

Please allow 3-5 days delivery.

WOOHOO! some time this week, i'm going into Hibernation, and when I come out, I'm going to be a different person! hehe, can't wait

Noppa, f*ck yeah man, Extreme's Waiting For The Punchline is one of the coolest of cool albums in my collection! I love that record, and the bonus song at the end is killer!

Hey if you're really digging that album, I definitely recommend that you get Nuno's two Mourning Widows CD's - they're a tad expensive cause you have to get them on Japanese import, but so, so worth it. Do you have Nuno's "Schizophonic"? If not, that'd be worth checking out between Waiting For The Punchline and Mourning Widows 1!

Jazzzzzzy, thanks for your mail bro! hehe, one of my family friends mailed me a link to that site the other day, it's pretty interesting! I should forward you the mail from her actually, cause there's some other funny shit in there!

I'll send it in a few minutes!

As an extension of Nass' question, I think it would be interesting to see everyone answer the way I did...

What is your favorite Satch album, what do you think was the best Satch album at the time of its release, and when you look back at Satch's career from some point in the future what do you think will be considered his best album? My answers are below (in response to Nass).

jazzzzzzzy - "There are many people who call such attitude intolerant."

Who? I certainly didn't say that...if you got that from my post, you misunderstood it completely.

The Bob - The difference is that the remastered version is remastered. ;-) It sounds better...

If you're buying copies of all of them, go for the remastered versions if you can. I think most (all?) of them have been released that way. I have a few of them, but I have some original versions as well.

In most cases, it's better to buy a remastered album instead of the original. Remastered versions usually sound SO much better. The only time you might get screwed with a remastered version is if the record company is putting it out quickly to make money (if the artist recently passed away, for example), or if something has been drastically changed (like when Ozzy Osbourne hired session musicians to redo the bass and drum tracks on his first album or two when he remastered them again a few years ago).

962 - "he is easily irritated by things"

That doesn't excuse his behavior here.

cuthbert1776 - "Food for thought"

That was interesting...thanks for sharing it.

" there are probably a helluvalotta people in Indy that are happy he was injured last night. I think Minnesota would've opened up a pretty serious can 'o' whoop-ass Da Colts."

I don't know... I think one of the reasons the Colts ran so much early on was because they knew the Vikings wouldn't be using their normal gameplan (the Colts could afford to run more than usual because the VIkings didn't have Moss). If Moss was in for the Vikings, I don't think Manning / the Colts would've wasted any time going to the air. Manning still may have finished the game with "only" four touchdown passes, but I think the Colts would've won (even though both teams would have scored more points).

Nass - I have three ways to answer that...let me know if this doesn't make sense and I'll try to better explain myself.

My favorite Satch album is ITLIS?.

I think his best album (at the time it was released) is probably SWTA.

I think his best album of all time (looking back at his career as a whole from some point in the future) will probably be Crystal Planet.

...Austin...

Do the stu: Seriously, back off. I didnt use your fucking name so shut the fuck up. You're getting on my nerves now. I never mentioned and never am going to mention a right wing twat like you. If there were any people I talked about it was no one on T2J. It was about an Otep link michelle asked me to check out. Also, the person I talked about being intolerant to the right wing party was Fat Mike from NOFX. If you are Fat Mike or the chick from Otep, you can reply. If you are not, I'd rather have my balls eaten by hannibal lector than have another conversation with you. It seems like most people here do not have a problem with me (at least not at the current moment) and I am restraining myself from talking shit because I just do not like doing it. But if you keep dragging your ass in, you can expect a post like this from me. Is that clear? I doubt it.

Oh yeah, as for namecalling...I think you are a fanboy.

That doesn't excuse his behavior here.

Are you some kind of police here? If others have a problem with me they can speak up for themselves, like they always do. You do not need to be the mouthpiece.

JAZZY WHAT YOU TTRIPPIN' 'BOUT? CHILL OUT B. I never seen you upset, it's kind of weird.

My favorite Satch albums, (even though the're all dope) are Time Machine and Engines of Creation. these two albums use a lot of Lydian scales (my favorite). And what's the deal with the Power Cosmic part one? What kind of logic is there to that song. I love the way it sounds but I just don't understand it, those are the songs I like the most. Songs where they dont even make sense 'til you listen to them a dozen times.

OpticalStudio- sorry to hear about the noise, I know how that goes! I'm sorry I still haven't ordered your CD yet, the problem I have is that we are living temporarily elsewhere until the move goes through, and don't go back to our original place too often- my bank cards etc are registered at my "old" address until we move... and the mail is just posted into a central place there where everyone collects it from, so I can only get anything delivered there and it isn't too secure... to cut a long story short, I will order it soon! Sorry about that. My husband by the way is called Matt. Thanks for your good wishes! All my best to you too!

Hello Joe, I´m a 23 year old guitarist from Munich and a great fan of your music. I´m playin guitar 6-7 hours every day but I´m not sure what I should practice. Can you tell me how important music theory is, like scales, modes and how they relate to each other, chords, arpeggios...Many Guitar players told me "You just have to improvise". Thanks Oliver

NASS, i am more a fan of his earlier stuff so i like surfin and flying in a blue dream for the studio stuff and time machine for the live tracks. VIKINGS. as a packer fan i have to dislike them. its a law in wisconsin. as for the bears, not only did they kick our buts earlier but their defense looks even better so i wouldn' t bet against them like i did for the first game. our defense sucks this year. i hope we can beat the vikes this sunday but if moss plays we are doomed as we don't have anybody that can cover him. could be ugly
